Our overall experience will Bill was excellent. Our first interactions were by email and his responses were quick and to the point. He was able to give me an estimate for replacing the water service line without me having to be at the house. He drove by the house after we made contact by email and returned an estimate that was reasonable compared to others I had researched for the same service. After we agreed to go ahead with the work, he secured the various permits, continuing to be responsive by email with any questions I had. He and his crew arrived on the day of service and the work went as planned. They did discover, in excavating the sidewalk that there appeared to be some water diversion as the there was clearance between the bottom of the concrete and the ground underneath. He thought this was possibly due to the sub-sidewalk downspout being cracked, so he recommended diverting the downspout into the house to connect it to the waste pipe there. This added an extra $400 to the price, which seemed reasonable to me. That work was completed a couple of weeks later when they returned to patch the sidewalk. I would certainly recommend East Falls Plumbing and use them in the future for any other plumbing issues that may arise.

Our experience with East Falls Plumbing and Heating LLC was excellent. Bill was available and helpful from the moment I contacted him until the work was complete. They explained all of the work in detail and was available to make an emergency repair to a leak in our water heater. They installed a utility sink and water pump in our house. All work was completed promptly with the professionalism and quality.

He did a good job. He did not cause any internal damages except for some minor ones which he took care of. There wasn’t anything in particular about his job. One of the things that he helped me with was that I was actually in the process of buying this house, and I ended up settling everything to be here, but he came out prior to that and did the work. He was very quick in responding, coming out on short notice. He grew accustomed to me at the end of the day, it was helpful in that regard.

We discovered the leak at 8am. When I called the number around 8:30, Bill picked up immediately. He happened to be in the area so I was able to get same day service (which I totally wasn't expecting). He was able to give me an estimate over the phone since we knew what the problem was, and the price was the same when he wrote up the bill. When they arrived, they were friendly, professional, and worked quickly. They even gave me a 1-year warranty on the joint they fixed. I'm completely satisfied with their work and would go with them again.

He got back to me and said he couldn't do the work because he doesn't work on wells. He's wasn't comfortable saying he would work on something that he doesn't understand. I thought that was wonderful. I will use him for regular plumbing work from now on. He was honest, forthcoming and pleasant.

The whole process was painless. They gave me a estimate over the phone for a new water heater and I agreed. I was thankful they made arrangements to come out that morning (I had guests coming over that evening/wknd and needed hot water). Great experience.
Description of Work: Thursday evening we discovered our current water heater had leaked everything. First thing Friday morning I started calling companies I found on Angie's List. East Falls Plumbing was the first to respond. Thankfully they shifted some things and were able to get someone out that morning. They came, removed my old water heater and installed a new ED Bradford White 40 Gallon water heater. Everything works perfectly fine.

Received a response very quickly to the initial e-mail and Bill came out and gave me a quote within couple of days. Price was good, and Bill and one of his guys were able to come do the work the next week. He was professional and honest / up front about everything. They weren't quite able to finish in one day (a Thursday), but volunteered to come out on the weekend and finish up. When he discovered that the system didn't have an overflow tank, he added it at no additional labor cost (just a small amount for the tank itself). Haven't used the system much yet, as it's spring but we did turn it on for one cold evening and everything appears to work nicely. Also got some additional quotes for plumbing work and definitely plan to use again for our heating and plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Bill came and removed our really old boiler and replaced it with a new one. Also replaced the ancient thermostat and added a tank to the system.

Nothing was an emergency so we made arrangements via e-mail for the plumbers to come out on Saturday of that week. Wiliam Bierman and another plumber showed up on time, they were very professional and efficient as well as being very friendly. The work was done quickly and they cleaned up after themselves very well. I thought the charges were very reasonable and I would definitely use them again. Pipe repair - cut out about 6 inches of copper pipe and soldered in a new section. The leak happened where 2 pipes crossed over each other and had been in contact so they made sure there was room so the pipes wouldn't rub against each other any more. Blocked toilet - had to uninstall and reinstall the whole toilet to remove something that got flushed accidentally. In addition they had to replace the fill-valve to reinstall the toilet. I know this was legitimate as I had cross threaded the connection when I put in the old fill-valve. They actually charged me less than was quoted for the toilet and just a minimal amount for the fill-valve. Kitchen faucet replacement - I had purchased the new faucet myself. They removed the old one, scrubbed away years of built up crud from around the base and installed the new one. Everything looks good and works perfectly.

Bill responded promptly on email and although there were a couple of blips in communication due to misunderstanding that he would show up and do the work same day (I thought it would be separate vists), when he showed up promptly at the agreed-upon time, he was very helpful, straightforward and professional. He helped me understand what the issue was causing my limited supply of hot water, made a recommendation for a new machine. He then drained the hot water heater and removed it. In a few minutes, he and his assistant returned with the new machine and installed it. Both guys were a pleasure to talk to, work with, and helped me understand how the different types of hot water heaters worked. His final price came in below estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bill for any plumbing work.
Description of Work: Bill inspected my current hot water heater and offered his opinion on why it wasn't working very well. Then he and his assistant removed the hot water heater and installed a new one, in the same day. The total process was about 3.5 hours.

Bill Bierman himself came out to do the estimate, and I can see why he has such good reviews. He's a very pleasant person to communicate with, either in person, on the phone, or via email. And he obviously knows his stuff, was very concerned about getting measurements and details exactly right, and he gave us our most competitive bid. I would have absolutely gone with him with total confidence that he would have done an excellent job, except for the fact that my usual plumbing and heating guys finally came around and brought their estimate more in line with the estimate provided by Mr. Bierman. And at the end of the day we decided to stick with our usual plumbing and heating guys, whose office is only two blocks away from our house. But I was very impressed with Bill Bierman and I would not hesitate to contact him and use his services if necessary in the future. My impression is that he is very professional, knowledgeable, fair, and trustworthy.
Description of Work: My wife and I were looking for a plumbing and heating company to install cast iron baseboard radiators to replace the decrepit-looking 1970s-era fin tube baseboard on the first floor of the old house we recently purchased. Our usual plumbing and heating company's estimate came in really high, so we contacted East Falls Plumbing and Heating based on the excellent recommendations on Angie's List and asked them to provide an estimate.

pWe came home from vacation on a Sunday night and found a stream of water coming out of the wall in our boiler room in our 1930's home. Initially we thought it was the Water Main, so we called the Water Company, but they figured out that the problem was somewhere inside our walls. I called Bill Monday morning at 8:30am (we'd used him once before for a minor repair and thought he was great). His whole team was working on a big project, but he sent one guy out to our house within the hour. This guy was with us all day long, and did a fantastic job. He had to cut a big hole in the cement wall of the boiler room to figure out the hole was in the supply pipe to our radiators. Then, to access the section of pipe that had failed, he drained our heating system and then cut a hole in the tile in our bathroom (other side of the wall). He was very careful to only cut as much as he had to in order to fix the problem and he tried to keep things neat. Then he cut the pipe and replaced it with new copper piping. Then he refilled out heating system and bled each radiator in the house. I came down every hour throughout the day and he showed me his progress and explained what he was doing. Bill also came over from the main job at one point to check things out himself, and to discuss the cost with me. He advised that we leave the hole in the wall open for a couple of weeks to make sure that nothing else went wrong. We were so grateful that they came out immediately, and that they were so professional. I don't know enough to actually assess the quality of the plumbing work, but I do know that my basement is dry, my heating is working and I am happy!
Description of Work: Opened a section of wall in the boiler room (cement wall) and bathroom wall (subway tile) of our 1930's home in order to access a supply pipe that had failed. Drained our heating system. Cut the pipe and replaced it with new copper piping. Refilled the heating system and bled each radiator.

It turned out really well and the water pressure is great now. We love Bill. We found him on Angie's List last year when we needed to replace a boiler and were given a quote from a friend of a friend that was too high. Bill did the work for a fair price and whenever we call him with a plumbing question (he is now our go-to guy) he will get back to us within a reasonable time, troubleshoot with us, and then come out himself, send Kevin, or recommend someone else he trusts if it's an emergency and he can't get here. We had a clogged backed up drain the basement this past fall and he recommended a friend of his to help us. I know I'm gushing, but I really trust him, value his work, appreciate that he tries to help us fix the problem ourselves, and is a genuine guy who treats us fairly and with candor. A+ and 4 stars. Bill is the best!
Description of Work: We have an old row home in Philly. We needed to fix a faucet in our 3rd floor bathroom and have our water pressure increased because we were having a guest come live with us for an extended time. We didn't use that bathroom and didn't know that the water pressure was that bad until we tried it out a week before our friend came. It was like taking a shower in the summer rain. They came out and gave us the scoop that we really needed to change the pipe connecting our house to the main sewer for a permanent water pressure fix, but they fixed it temporarily (until we can save the money for the more costly sewer connection). We were also told this information when we had a whole house inspection from a separate 3rd party a few years ago. They fixed it by changing the length of the shower head. And they fixed the faucet.

I awoke to no hot water; went to the basement to discover that the tank had emptied on the basement floor. Sent email at 7 AM, received a call back before 8 AM. I contacted Bill by email. He got right back to me and within a few emails, Bill arranged to take a look at my plumbing issues (drain leaking from upstairs bathroom into downstairs mud room). After taking a look, we set up a convenient time to have the work completed. Bill and his associate showed up on time, completed the work quickly, and now my drains work great (no more leaks!). The price was right within the range we discussed. Actually, the price was a little less than expected because I had two drains replaced instead of one. Highly recommended.

I emailed Bill to schedule a time for him to come out and do the work. He got right back to me and came out to our house within a week, on a day which worked with our schedules. He was friendly and got right to work, getting the job done within an hour or so. He also gave us some helpful information about our plumbing and fixtures, which will help us make decisions about future repair work. Overall, I would absolutely use Bill for any future plumbing work!
Description of Work: Fixed two toilets in our home. The upstairs toilet was leaking at/near the water supply valve and pipe. Bill replaced a few parts, which fixed the leak. The basement toilet had been running constantly, so Bill also replaced several parts on that toilet and it now functions properly.

We were selling a property in north Philadelphia and needed to re-establish water service that had been physically disconnected from the city main several years previously. The City told us that the work would probably cost from $3,000 to $5,000. As I am in Dallas and needed to have the work accomplished from afar, I needed to find a highly trustworthy plumber. So I turned to Angie's List and tried East Falls who was in the neighborhood and who had a good reputation from their Angie's List reports. I was not disappointed. I sent property information and a proposal request to Bill Bierman via e-mail, who promptly and professionally responded. He went by the property and quickly provided a clear and detailed estimate and a fair price that was actually a little below the bottom of the expected range. During the course of the work Bill kept me well and frequently informed of the progress of the work, did what he said he was going to when he said he was going to do it, coordinated with the people we had in Philadelphia to provide access and was always prompt, did quality work at a good price, and even came out to finish the concrete patching himself when his concrete subs failed to get the job done. East Falls Plumbing was a pleasure to deal with and accomplished a long distance plumbing job giving me the same comfort level as if I were right there in the neighborhood. I would certainly use them again and highly recommend them.

I purchased a historic rowhouse that had been renovated inside, but needed a good bit of plumbing work, as the old galvanized steel water service line that was probably close to 100 years old was corroded and about to leak. Also our gas water heater was 17 years old and past its safe lifespan. We also wanted to have our boiler/radiator heating system flushed and serviced. I found Bill from East Falls Plumbing on this list and decided to hire him based on the reviews that touted his experience with historic homes in and around Philadelphia. He was pleasant to deal with, returned all calls and email promptly, and showed up on time for the jobs. The work was completed professionally, on time, and exactly in line with our initial estimate. I could not recommend East Falls Plumbing enough for any type of plumbing work, especially considering the variety of services we had performed in a short time period.

My outside faucet needed to be replaced, and with workman coming to repair the facade of my home, it needed to be taken care of quickly. I put an SOS call out to a few Angie's List plumbers. Bill responded quickly and we were able to negotiate the work and have the job completed within 24 hours. He was efficient and not too talkative. His estimated time for the work was on point and upon mentioning my Angie's List membership, he included his stated discount. My only miss is that I forgot to ask for my old parts. But other than that, the experience was totally smooth and completely worth it.
