Bill Bierman (and his assistant) from East Fall Plumbing, did an excellent job. They went about the work efficiently and professionally. Bill also explained the cause of radiator problems and what repairs were needed. After the repairs were done, they stayed around to make sure my heater was operating properly. Additionally, Bill gave me good advice on the proper maintenance of my house heater.
Description of Work: East Falls Plumbing and Heating installed a radiator valve and two radiator vents. Additionally, they diagnosed my auto feed and drained the soiled water from my house heater.

One of our toilets broke (the fill tube broke in half), and it was obvious that the whole interior mechanism needed replacedment. The handle stuck, the flap didn't always close properly, it was practically an antique. Bill made a real effort to come as quickly as possible, and was here within 24 hours, despite a busy schedule. He kept checking in by phone to let me know what to expect. The repair was done quickly, and we got $20 off for being Angie's List members (Yay!). However, after Bill left, I discovered that the toilet tank refill was taking forever--like 6 minutes. When I let Bill know, he assured me that he wouldn't deposit the check until we were satisfied, and then he came within a couple of days (this was a crazy time immediately before Thanksgiving) to repair the repair. Because they were fitting a new part to an old-shaped tank, they had accidentally jammed two sections of the fill valve together, blocking the flow of water, and Bill quickly figured out the problem and repaired it. Although it wasn't so convenient that he had to come twice, the communication throughout was excellent, and he was clearly determined to do a good job and to provide service as quickly as possible. Oh, and it was clear that if this had been our only toilet, he would have made a true rush job out of it, but I let him know that it wasn't super urgent.
Description of Work: Bill replaced the whole interior mechanism of our toilet.

The work went as planned and couldn't have gone smoother.
Description of Work: Mr. Bierman came out to my house to replace my water heater. After contacting him through email from a previous job, he came out the same day and took care of business. His promptness and professionalism along with his quality of work are the reasons why I would recommend him and use him again in the future!

During my call I was cut-off and asked my address. When I explained that I lived in West Philadelphia I was informed that they were "booked until February". The tone was very rude and condescending, USE ANOTHER PLUMBER IF YOU CAN, besides their booked til February!

Response from East Falls Plumbing & Heating LLC
THIS PERSON IS A COMPLETE IDIOT. I TOLD HIM I WAS BOOKED UNTIL THIS FRIDAY 11/9/12. I AM NOT BOOKED INTO FEBRUARY. THIS WOULD BE ABSURD. The temperature has dropped rapidly for the first time this year so I am busy servicing and installing boilers. I asked him where he lived on the chance I had a service call in his area already at whichpoint I was going to try to accomodate. This is the thanks I get. Please read the rest of my reviews and dont hesitate to contact us for any of your plumbing and heating needs. If I ask you where you its simply so I can plan accordingly.

I contacted them by phone Friday afternoon and got a very quick response. They were able to send a plumber out to me late morning on Saturday. Before that time, they were great emailing back and forth to confirm all the details. The plumber was friendly, seemingly knowledgeable (telling me what was wrong with the initial installation work). The repair only took an hour and the problem was solved. Good as new. The price seemed more than fair for the short-notice weekend service call. I would definitely use again.
Description of Work: I had water leaking from under the base of my toilet. This involved taking the toilet off the floor base, sealing off the drain, and then replacing the toilet bowl and securing down/caulking.

I still had the original water boiler/heater in my rowhouse and I wanted to replace it as we headed toward winter (and with a newborn on the way). After reading his good reviews on Angie's List, I called Bill on a Tuesday to get an estimate - he was in the area and was at my house within 10 minutes to look at my heater situation. He gave me a good estimate for a quality boiler and did not try to up-sale me on a larger model (btu) or a more expensive energy efficient heater (which some will do). The following Thursday, Bill and his crew came to my house on time to remove the old, heavy boiler and install the new heater. I had concerns in regards to the positioning of the new heater and Bill was able to locate the boiler in an ideal location, while still accessing the existing pipes. Bill and his crew were able to complete the boiler install and test the unit by the end of the day. My only complaint was that the work area could have been cleaned up a little better. All in all, I am very pleased with my new boiler and the quality service that Bill provided - I would definitely use East Falls Plumbing and Heating in the future if need be.
Description of Work: Bill removed old water boiler and installed new boiler. Some additional plumbing work was done to accommodate new boiler system and an electric line was run from the panel to the boiler.

We had planned to use the installation services from the retailer where we bought the fridge, but their contractors were unable to complete the job. Bill stepped in and did a fantastic job. He replied very quickly to my emails (I loved being able to communicate that way), fit us in right away, showed up on time, and did quality work at the exact price he quoted. Although this was a smaller job, I definitely intend to use him if/when we have more major plumbing needs.

I have been very happy with Bill's work. He initially installed a gas boiler for me and since then has done a number of other smaller jobs. His prices are very reasonable and he is very straight-forward. He also came in last minute and worked all weekend when I had an emergency situation, which I really appreciated!

We had just purchased our first house and during inspection were told that we needed to have the main waste pipe repaired because it was leaking. After settlement we were in search of a local plumber with good reviews, so I checked on Angie's List and saw outstanding reviews for East Falls Plumbing. The only issue was with my fiance's and my schedules, but Bill was willing to keep offering dates and times that he, too, was available. He went to the house and did the estimate while we were in work and was back the following week to fix it. The work looks good and he was in and out within a few hours. I also have to comment on pricing; we were given an estimate originally from our inspector of anywhere from $300-$600; Bill did it for $225. Reasonably priced, friendly people, DEFINITELY using Bill and East Falls Plumbing again!

Great. We were one day away from flying to Europe on a trip we'd saved up for. We found some water in our basement, not a lot, but we needed to have it checked since we were going away for 10 days. . The first person we called said it was the probably the sewer pipe and we'd have to replace the pipe -- a big expensive job -- if we found any more water. We found water again a few days later - the saturday before we were leaving. East Falls Plumbing answered our call and Bill came over -- on a saturday. He looked in our basement and saw a small crack in the sewer pipe and showed it to us. But then he said it was an old crack, and that we should get it fixed at some point, but he did not think it was the reason we were getting water now. He then checked the drain out in the street, said we had a clog, pulled his truck around and spent close to an hour takiing care of a ghastly clog. He said that was why the small crack was leaking now, and that by unclogging the drain, we'd be fine for now. He was right. Thanks to Bill, we were able to go on vacation and not worry that our house was flooding. And now we can take our time to plan and budget for a repair calmly. And yes, we'll use East Falls Plumbing when we get the pipe replaced!!

Bill came out a couple of weeks before we moved into our new house to install a new gas line for our gas range. My husband was impressed with him from the start; of the several plumbers we'd had out for a bid, he was the only one who noticed that there was an old gas line that had been used previously. He didn't end up using that, but seemed savvy about older houses. Bill was also very careful. After the installation, he was worried that he smelled gas, and took some extra time to ensure that the line wasn't leaking. His price was reasonable. When we had the gas range installed, it turned out that Bill had been right -- there was a leak in the line that he had installed. We e-mailed Bill to let him know what had happened. He was incredibly professional and responsive, and ended up coming out the very next day to fix the gas line (which now works perfectly). He also fixed the insinkerator that our appliance installer had bungled and put in a water line for the ice maker in our new refrigerator. We were impressed with Bill's knowledge, professionalism, honesty, and pricing. Based on our experience with Bill, we will likely hire him to do a larger job (for which he has already given us a quote).

By far the best experience we've ever had with a plumber. Bill responded to my e-mail for an estimate within an hour and was very responsive to my questions about the work we were having done. He was able to schedule the work quickly, arrived on time, cleaned up after himself and both he and his partner were very friendly. While he was here to do the bathroom I asked for an estimate on a new water heater as ours has been slowly leaking for several months. Not only was he able to give me good price, he was able to install the water heater that same day instead of making another trip. I also felt that he was very honest with me when discussing the best water heater for our house and wasn't trying to talk me into something more expensive. In fact, he talked us out of larger water heater (75gal) because he said we really didn't need it and it would cost us more money to heat and he was right - the 50gal replacement water heater that he installed works great and we have more than enough hot water whereas with the old 50gal one we were running out of hot water after 2 showers. His prices were very reasonable and were, in fact, about half the price of what another large plumbing company wanted to charge us to install a pedestal sink and toilet. Overall, a great experience. We will definitely be using Bill and East Falls Plumbing for all of our future plumbing jobs.

This is the second time that I've worked with this company, and have been very pleased. Bill is willing to come out no matter how small the job, which many contractors won't do. They are responsive when you call them (call returned same day), and I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. He diagnosed the problem quickly, went out to get the parts and quickly did the repair. He was in and out in about an hour. His work is neat, thorough, and professional. After he left we noticed that the toilet was spontaneously running a few times a day. A quick call to Bill, he was back to our house within a few days and make the adjustment at no charge. Very easy to work with and good at what he does.

I contacted Bill Bierman for an estimate regarding drain cleaning services. He returned my emails promptly, and we set up a meeting for an estimate. Bill was very honest and upfront in surveying my situation, which involved a drain clogged with tree roots. I was out of town for a week and came back to a non-functioning basement toilet. Which someone had also seen fit to use. And clog. I emailed Bill, who promptly got back to me (and offered suggestions first on how I might troubleshoot it to save me the money for s visit if it was preventable. Alas, , it was broken. He came out to fix it quickly and kept me apprised of his schedule (seriously, a plumber who emails you? How great is that vs. playing phone tag?) And while at first things looked dire, he kept at it and fixed the pump vs replacing it, saving me a ton of money. He and his partner also kept great attitudes despite being faced with a holy mess, and were just a pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with East Falls in the future on non-emergency projects - just a great experience all around.

On Friday, July 13, I called Bill Bierman to schedule an appointment for him to unclog a tub drain. I also followed up with an email. Bill called me within a half hour. He said that his schedule was full the next day but could come by after wrapping up a big job. I told him I was available after 3 p.m. and he responded that he may arrive later; however, he would call me prior to 3 to confirm the appointment. When I didn't hear from Bill, approximately 4:15 p.m., I called him to verify that he was still coming. He replied that he was waiting for my call at 3, that he was unavailable, and suggested that I call his friend the next morning. I asked him if his friend works on weekends. He replied no. Then I told him that I couldn't use the tub at all. He apologized that he couldn't come by and recommended his friend again or I should find another plumber who works on Sundays. A few minutes later Bill called and said that he could come over in 1 or 2 hours. I told him I would be available. Bill arrived at 6 p.m. and unclogged the tub drain using two plungers that his colleague retrieved from their truck. He told me to make note of when he serviced tub and if the problem reoccurs he may have to replace the trap, as he thinks it was improperly installed. At that point, I was relieved that he resolved my plumbing issue. However, a few minutes later, after Bill had left, I noticed that my plunger, which I recently purchased from Home Depot, was missing -an old ratty one was left in its place. I called Bill and asked him to return my plunger. Bill returned to my house and denied that he took my plunger. In addition, I also discovered, after comparing a previous repair receipt, that Bill charged me $50 more for the exact same service which he perform only 9 months ago.

A few key points to consider..... 1. Why would I risk my reputation which I have worked very hard to build up over a ten dollar plunger?? I have a least a dozen and a plunger is one of the items I would never need another of....Let alone take one from a customer. Any smart person reading this I trust would understand my logic here. 2. NO ONE TOOK HER PLUNGER AND FURTHERMORE WE NEVER SAW A NEW PLUNGER ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE......I flipped on my helper and we worked for 40 minutes later that night and tore the truck apart.......It was not there. 3. Lastly, I went to this person’s house at 7 PM on a Saturday night in July and I charged her $125 for an emergency service call which 95% of my customers would think was a great deal and would normally thank me ten times before I left there house. If she could not recognize the fact that she was getting a great deal than there is nothing I can do

We recently purchased and moved into a new house. There was an old grill attached to a natural gas pipe that came up through the deck. We wanted the pipe removed from above the deck and capped under the deck just in case we decide to use it in the future.Bill and another employee showed up on time and got right to work. They were gone within a 1/2 hour or so and even took the old grill for disposal.
