I called Dry Mex on the recommendation of my actual (flesh and blood) neighbor, to drywall a ceiling. First contact was good, but when we weren't able to connect for the site visit (Freddie had offered "Tuesday" but nothing more specific - he called at 8:45 that morning, saying he could come right then, but I had to drive my son to school) I didn't hear back at all. I was going to give up entirely, but I gave him one last call, and he was available right then. So he came by, and I really liked him - he told me what I'd need to do to prep for his work, offered me a bid ($1500 for a pretty tough ceiling, about 17'x47'), and we talked potential start dates. I looked over the numbers and dates, and called him the next day to schedule the work. We agreed to have it start this past Monday (8/4). No one arrived or called. At all. The entire day. Now, I'm on a deadline on this project, and once I booked Dry Mex, I figured I was done with thinking about ceiling contractors, and went on with the million other aspects of this job. I called him at 9:30 am on Monday, and again in the afternoon. I also called 2 other drywallers, one of whom came by right away (Abs General Contracting - I'm looking to review them after I finish this - amazing guys), the other of whom I emailed with. I wonder if Dry Mex plans on showing up at some point.
Description of Work: Bid on a ceiling repair, commit to doing the work, and never show up.

The job went well and as planned. Communication with the manager, Seth, was straight forward and everything was on time. The materials were delivered the afternoon before work started. The dry wall installers completed hanging the dry wall in a little over two days and the taping and finishing crew took about 3 days. The job was completed in a week. The crews worked very hard and did good work. I would certainly hire them again.
Description of Work: Dry Mex put in new 1/2 inch dry-wall throughout a 1100 square foot 2-story house I am rehabbing. For the large ceiling downstairs 5/8 fire-block panels were used (fastened every 12 inches to metal RC strips). Upstairs, 1/2 panels were fastened directly to the old plaster ceiling in two rooms. Plaster on one side wall was skim coated. The bathroom got cement board in the shower/bath area and mold resistant board elsewhere.

Dry Mex Inc is almost flawless. You would never know these weren't the original walls that came with the house. Their clean-up is very nice.
Description of Work: Dry Mex Inc replaced drywall, taped, spackled and finished.
