nitially well, apparently. In the end, abysmally: In the summer of 2011 Dan Dragomir (now Dremodelling) did a bathroom remodel for us, which involved moving a wall, gutting and replacing existing plumbing and water lines and installing a new toilet, sink, shower and a refurbished tub. We had agreed ahead of time that we would do some of the finish work ourselves - we did nothing structural, electrical or having to do with plumbing. We laid the tiles on the floor, installed a beadboard wainscotting and painted throughout. In March of 2012, we told Dragomir we had a leak in the room below. The ceiling plaster was bulging and wet. His first response, by email, and before even talking about coming to look at it was "this is not the fault of our work." He did send an associate to look , who told us that the leak was due to inadequate caulking in the shower stall. The associate recaulked the shower. He also repaired the damage to the ceiling, free of charge. However it soon became obvious that the slow leak continued to leak into the new ceiling, because by last November (or a little earlier) the ceiling was once again seriously compromised. In the months since, we've had several other plumbers trouble shoot and try to fix this; we have now established that there are apparently no leaks from the pipes. We have also caulked and recaulked the shower multiple times without making any difference to the amount of water now constantly coming through our living room ceiling. This clearly means that the shower itself or the shower drain was installed incorrectly in some way. I understand there are several possibilities but before removing the entire shower it's impossible to know. Doesn't matter, though, because clearly the shower has to be replaced. Update: We just got our estimates: Looks like we're going to spend $4200 to replace a new shower installed three years ago. Thanks a lot, Dan Dragomir!

Dear Customer, I understand your concern, however this issue you claim you have with the company is 3 years ago. I’m sorry you’re experiencing a leak, but I’m confident it’s not from our company. It would be beneficial to contact us about any problem you may have, rather than writing a review about it, otherwise we can’t fully help you. When it comes to remodeling, customer satisfaction is our top priority. Like you have mentioned, I did send a technician at no charge to you a year after the project is completed . However, I do have to say that although my technician did say that the problem was from the lack of caulking and waterproofing around your shower, that was not our part of the project – you were responsible for that part. As this is my company, I would not want potential customers to get the wrong idea of how we operate. I would like to list some facts: The customer and I discussed two different price options. He ended up choosing us for the demo, rough plumbing, electric and framing work. The customer chose to DIY - the finish work, from drywall to tile, grouting, caulking, and painting. Our company went through the necessary steps to obtain permits from the township, as well as provide a sign, along with sealed drawings by a structural engineer. We actually had to remove some of the wall in order to expand the bathroom. Our company completed our part of the project, including inspections. We let the customer finish the work. However, before we left, we made sure the customer knew that it was okay to contact us at any time for help. Part of the inspection was involved with a pressure test for the drainage and water lines. That meant we blocked the vent and drainpipes while using inflatable test balloons. We then pressurized the system until the pressure gauge registered 5lb/psi. We checked the gauge every 15 minutes, to ensure the pressure falls. Our company was able to pass that test, and that meant there were no slow leaks. The following year, the customer had contacted us saying he had a leak in his ceiling. I sent out a technician immediately. The technician found that the shower pan was indeed leaking because of improper caulking between tiles; that was the customer’s part of the job and responsibility. We explained the problem to the customer and we corrected the problem including ceiling repairs – all for free by my company. However, 3 years later I am seeing this review saying how it’s our fault about their situation with leaks. The customer contacted different plumbers to trouble shoot, and they determined that there were no signs of plumbing lines leaking. When it comes to a leak in the drainage system or water lines it would be more powerful, and it would not take months or even years to appear, especially through the ceiling. Since we did a pressure test and we passed all inspections for the work we performed, along with repairing the ceiling for free from lack of caulk, I assume that the consistent problem is that it’s related to the improper installation of tiles/grout/sealer/caulk. Many of the leaks that are found in showers are caused by cracks found in tile, grout or lack of caulk at joints. I’m truly sorry that you are experiencing issues with your bathroom. However, it’s not fair to blame our company, especially after 3 years after you completed the finish work. We did everything by the book like we always do. If you have any more concerns with your bathroom, or us please don’t hesitate to contact us via phone or email. We would be more than happy to assist you. Update: We have tried to contact the customer multiple times in our effort to help find a remedy for their project’s issue. We stand behind our workmanship and always encourage customers to contact us directly if there are issues for any reason, at any time. We chose dRemodeling because of excellent reviews on Angie's list and were not disappointed. The job was a remodel of a 3rd floor bathroom in a Philadelphia row house with some constraints. The dRemodeling team worked with us throughout, helping us to make and revise decisions as necessary. The workers were all prompt, pleasant and professional. The result is very beautiful and totally functional. We love our new bathroom and would strongly recommend this company for any remodeling jobs you might have.

They did a good job. There were some things that came up, like we ordered a new style toilet which had a double flush kind of a mechanism, and they had to repipe, and they had to finish the wall, because they didn't make the right rough ends for it. But they didn't charge me for it. They took care of it, so I didn't really think much of it. Little things like those would pop up, but they would take care of them. They seemed to know what they were doing. One of the minor thing that we had problems with was scheduling, but it worked out in the end. I can't complain much because they gave us what we were looking for. They were pretty much right on the money, there wasn't any discrepancy on their estimate, and what I ended up paying. I thought their price was good.

We are surprised that our small company's limitations would earn us a negative response and a corresponding negative grade by a homeowner and find it unfair to use our scope of work limitations against us. As a small design/build company, we take care to make sure we accept projects that we can ensure that we maintain our high level of workmanship, as we take pride in our reputation for not only providing excellent customer service, but also a high standard for our quality of work. To the untrained eye, doing work in high-rise condominiums may not seem any different in terms of remodeling, but there are a lot of technical issues that our company would not feel comfortable handling and therefore we let our potential customers know right from the start what work we do, and don't do, out of respect for our customers. This is why we are the professionals.

We are thrilled with the results and could not have imagined a better remodelling experience. From the very first meeting with Cheyanne, to the review of the design with Dan, the "shopping" for everything with Devin, and the actual work by Mario and the team -- total perfection! We really appreciated the creative ideas for the design in our relatively small spaces. It was wonderful to view the photos of other jobs but we didn't feel that we were getting a "cookie cutter" design at all. Each project was approached so thoughfully with the character of the house in mind. We felt like true partners too. Great suggestions from Dan and the team, but no pressure (unlike a previous experience with another contractor we considered before we found dRemodeling! ) We were consulted at every step of the way when needed to ensure that we were happy. And, we were! We are! Both rooms were completely stripped down to bare walls and floors and built from the ground up. The powder room was perhaps 70 years old, functioning fine, but really outdated. The 2nd floor bath was re-done 24 years ago with our then 8 year daughter in mind. Definitely needed an update! The tub was replaced by a lovely large shower with marble seat and niche. Black & white replaced the pink and purple tiles and walls. The heated floor is a delight....our cats seem to love it as much as we do! Professional: absolutely! Great customer service: absolutely! Clean and courteous: absolutely! Was anything ever viewed asa "problem"?: absolutely not! Finished when they said they would: absoutely! Would we recommend dRemodeling: absolutely! If you're looking for a great remodeler, do not wait another moment,...schedule your appointment with dRemodeling now!

I set up an appointment for bathroom remodeling. They came out on the wrong date -- I wasn't home. Another appointment was set up. Instead of the main guy coming out, a girl came out who admitted she wasn't as familiar with remodeling. I called twice after the girl came out, and no one returned my phone calls.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other members. We would like to take a moment to rectify some aspects of the situation as we try very hard to maintain our reputation for excellent and prompt customer service. This appointment was scheduled in June and due to summer vacations, the staff designer was helping to take appointments in a timely manner by recording all necessary info for our main technician to review over photographs taken. When asked about changing plumbing locations for the toilet and shower, the designer was unable to provide concrete information to the homeowner regarding this aspect of the work and deferred to give an answer until a technician could review the situation. Our office strives to maintain constant contact with all of our customers and we apologize that this one seemed to slip through the cracks. We were excited to help renovate this master bath suite and hall bath that had been in the family for years and were ready to create amazing relaxing spaces and wish we could return the favor by helping them create this.

We thought that the price estimated for the work was reasonable. This was provided as a cost for services plus estimates for the materials, fixtures and cabinetry. Thus, we were able to see how our selections impacted on the final cost of the project. As we picked various items (at dealer cost) or changed aspects of the work, we were able to control the cost. The design advice was very helpful. In particular, suggestions relating to construction options contributed greatly to our satisfaction of the final work. In one case, the option of moving a venting pipe at minimal cost made a tremendous difference. The job started on the date scheduled. The work was coordinated well. The workmen put in very long days to complete the various phases and not hold up the next piece. The workmanship was top-notch. The tile work was excellent, and the workman had a fine eye for detail. The workers were also very clean. No work was done at any time unless the floors were covered from the bathroom out through to the front door. During the demolition phase, our bedroom looked like the kill room from ?Dexter?. Our Township has extremely strict code inspections. dRemodeling was able to move through this process without significant delay.
Description of Work: We recently used dRemodeling for a bathroom renovation and were very satisfied. The work involved a complete remodel of the space, including the removal of walls that separated a smaller bathroom from a vanity area, enlarging the shower and repositioning pipes. We would certainly use this company again for any remodeling work.

Dan and his dremodeling team recently finished renovating our kitchen, laundry room and three full bathrooms. We enjoyed working with Dan and his team. All employees were professional and personable. In addition, Dan set us up with great contacts for plumbing, tile, counters, etc. Dan let my husband and I have the driver's seat and gave his input and insight when asked or when necessary. The entire process was not error or frustration free, but Dan was very responsive about addressing issues and correcting minor mistakes. The team also worked very hard to accommodate our timeline.

We purchased a new house in November 2012 and hired dRemodeling to completely gut, design and rebuild our kitchen. We consulted with dRemodeling's designer, Crystal, and after a number of design consultations by e-mail, we came up with a final design. Work began at the end of January and was completed in April (with some finishing work in May). We decided to have the work completed before we moved into the house to avoid living without a kitchen during construction. Since we weren't living in the house, it was more challenging for us to know what was happening on a daily basis. We made an effort to stop by as often as we could and checked in with Dan by e-mail quite frequently. The two main guys heading up our project were Val and Tudor. They were both FANTASTIC - - we were extremely happy with the quality of their work and attention to detail. We can't say enough good things about them. We would absolutely work with them again on another project. A few additional points: dRemodeling's itemized project reviews and invoices are very specific and break everything out clearly and concisely. No surprise costs at all. dRemodeling was able to purchase our kohler apron front sink and moen faucet at a lower cost which was great. We had a number of bumps along the way but dRemodeling was responsive and corrected each issue or concern we had during the project. Communication-- most of our communication with Dan was via e-mail. While he was extremely responsive by e-mail, we would have appreciated a final in-person walk through with him at the end of the project. The "B" in quality above reflects a few problems we've had with our Waypoint cabinets (dRemodeling's preferred cabinet supplier). Four sets of doors expanded to the point that they no longer closed properly and one door has developed a crack. dRemodeling has been responsive for each of these issues and has timely replaced the doors.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen renovation (including design services, electrical work, plumbing, etc): refinished hardwood floors thoughout entire house, installed new hardwood floor in kitchen, installed a larger kitchen window, removed existing window and installed a new sliding glass door.

Than you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience with other Angie's List members. We couldn't be happier working with you, and hope to deliver more of our high-quality work with you in the future! One note we wanted to make regarding Waypoint Living Spaces cabinetry is in response to the face frames cracking. The cabinets are a great mid-range all wood construction cabinet, that can expand and develop cracks if there is a significant difference in temperature. Work commenced in the cold of the winter, and with the homeowners not residing there, the temperature was kept to a minimum. Once the heat was turned up for living purposes, the wood expanded at a faster rate that it typically would. Waypoint does offer a lifetime warranty for their cabinetry, even as this issue was not a manufacturer defect, happily supplied us with replacement doors immediately and our team was sent out to correct the issue at no cost to our homeowners. Again, thank you for your response, and we hope to work with you again!

One of the main reasons we went with dRemodeling was because of all the A ratings they got on Angie's List. After our experience with them we can't believe it was the same company. We had our kitchen completely renovated, as well as moving basement stairs and redoing a shared ceiling between the kitchen and dining room. The project seemed to go on forever, and I think there were three main problems we had to deal with: Dan's poor or non-existent communication, high employee turnover, and mediocre quality of finishing work. Regarding the communication, we felt we had to pull teeth to get Dan to give us basic information on a timely basis. This turned into several decisions having to be made last minute, or even too late. Some of it was even flat out dishonest: when one of his employees either accidently threw out or incorrectly mixed (we never got a straight explanation) the finish coat material for our floor, they called the flooring company PRETENDING TO BE MY WIFE and ordered a new container. Without knowing about any of that, I got an email from the company asking how I want to pay for this material my wife just ordered! I don't know if Dan was hoping I'd pay for his worker's mistake without realizing it, or if they just wanted to make sure it was sent to the right address, but I never understood why they didn't just tell us what happened in an honest way. Also relating to communication, our foreman for the job left midway through the project and was never replaced. At the time we didn't even know he was the foreman, and Dan didn't tell us otherwise until many weeks later (btw, Dan didn't do any of the actual work himself, and never came back to our house after the initial meeting for the estimate). What made that even worse is that it left only one person to most of the finishing work, and his level of skill was not up to the task. There were different workers for the demolition (great), rough work and framing (also great), painting (good), and then about three different workers doing the finishing work at different times (not good). There was little to no attention to detail for the last half of the project, and there were several times when we had to ask Dan to send someone back to correct things. Even now there are some screwed-up things about the floor, the backsplash, the trim that we just had to live with -- very disappointing. For instance, after all the work was done we noticed that there was about a 3/4 inch-wide hole his worker had drilled into the back of one of the cabinets that also went through the wall behind it. We never got a straight answer as to why that happened, but the "fix" was to slap a junction box cover over it. There were other things as well, that instead of being redone correctly were just covered up. Other things were broken by his workers -- a bookcase, our backyard gate, a valve on our boiler -- all of which were repaired by them, with varying results. When our boiler failed to work when we turned it on in the Fall, and we emailed Dan to tell him we thought his workers may have had something to do with it, we mentioned the broken valve from before. Dan's email response was angry and sarcastic, as he'd get whenever we mentioned a concern he didn't agree with. Needless to say, he refused to accept the possibility that his workers did anything to stop it from working in the Fall, even though it had worked perfectly every year before then and no one had touched it except his workers in the interval. There were so many other problems we had during the project that it would just take too long to go into. We received several emails of apologies from Dan. There were delays caused by an order that his worker had told us he'd made, which then turned out not to have been finalized. When that part was re-ordered it came in wrong, but his workers went ahead and installed it because they were totally different people at that point and there was apparently no follow-through with communication between the revolving workers. There were delays caused by us having to order extra cabinetry because his workers didn't seem to understand how to follow his own architect's plans. The project ended up taking several MONTHS for what was a very small space, due mostly to these annoying delays. I'd also like to say that you should take any promise Dan makes with a grain of salt. At that first and only visit Dan made a point of saying that he sends a professional cleaning crew through the house at the end of every project. Not only did we never get that, but we had to clean up all the plastic and dust his workers left in the basement and other areas of the house ourselves, and had to ask several times for them to take away the mountain of debris they left in the backyard. Even now there are old containers, paint trays, and other things we're finding in the backyard that they left. The only reason we didn't leave a lower grade is because of the skill and professionalism of the earlier workers. On the whole, we were very disappointed with the whole process and would not recommend them for anyone else, let alone ever use them again ourselves. Update: I didn't want this to turn into a spitting match, but I would like to say a few things regarding Dan's response to my review: - It's true that we went through a 3rd-party cabinetmaker instead of the one Dan usually works with. This is because we asked from the beginning for a certain type of wood that it turns out Dan's cabinetmaker does not use. We found them ourselves because even after having had four successive designers assigned to us by Dan, none of them could help us in this area. Also, there were no finishing materials missing in the initial shipment. An additional order for a panel was made due to the change in design as described above, and two of the cabinet doors were replaced at the same time. - "We had the architect going to the customer?s house twice per week and I was making weekly trips myself" -- I think Dan might be confusing us with another project. The architect was at our house twice over the course of the whole project. I saw Dan at the initial visit and my wife saw him once, dropping off the painter. At no other time did we see him, and one of us was home every day that work was occurring. - Regarding the floor sealer, I spoke directly with the salesman from the flooring company after I received the email. He told me that the person calling said she was my wife, and even used her nickname to place the order. My wife had never contacted anyone from this company, and I had never mentioned to them the fact that I even had a wife. Also, this didn't even come up until the floor had been installed over a week prior, and I asked the worker why it hadn't been sealed yet, as he had already started moving appliances in on top of it. It was soon after that I got this email about the order. I wonder if the floor would have even been properly finished if I hadn't mentioned it... - "In the case one of bookcases which were broken while we were moving furniture, we let the customer know about this problem and we fixed the bookcase" No, actually -- after the worker had left for the last time, we went to move the bookcase back to its original position. It was then that we noticed the back feet were broken off and that it had been pushed to lean against the wall so that the damage was hidden. - "5 months after we completed the project we got a call from customer letting know that his furnace is not working and he thinks that we may have damaged it during work." The final work was completed in late August and the final bill was paid in full. Someone came out in early September to cover the cabinet hole. My email regarding the broken furnace was in late October. - "I sent a plumber next day at 7 AM to his house to see what the problem was." No, someone was sent 3 days later at 8 am. Honestly, I don't care whether it was 5 months or 2 months, 1 day or 3 days, 7am or 8am -- but why not just be truthful about it? Lastly, after my initial review went live, I received yet another angry, sarcastic email from Dan, accusing me of being dishonest. This is the kind of communication you can expect from dRemodeling.
We always appreciate when our customers take the time to write a review, positive or negative, as we believe it keeps us motivated to keep giving the excellent services we provide and to have a chance to explain any issues that may come up. With that said, we would like to take a moment to help clarify few of the issues as noted above. Project duration : 95% of the work for this project was completed within 5 weeks as we originally estimated. At this point, we left the kitchen fully functional. We were unable to complete the remaining 5% of the work because the finish materials were not included in the client’s initial cabinetry order, which the client had ordered through a 3rd party supplier that was found on the internet. We should not be held responsible for the mistakes of this 3rd party supplier. Additional work to install a new window and door took longer than expected when an error in the door configurations were never recorded, and caused further delay. Because customer satisfaction is a priority, we did this service FREE of charge . We strongly encourage customers to use our preferred vendors for cabinets, granite countertops, fixtures, tile products as we have direct working relationships with the products and customer service, therefore letting us deal with any installation and re-ordering issues ourselves. We are blamed that the project took months when in reality the delay was caused by these missing materials, a result of 3rd party mistakes when placing orders, as well as additional work and changes in the design that were requested by the customer once the project had commenced. Communication : Our communication is what set us apart of our competition. We are always available 24/7 to our customers. During the 1st stage of the project I was in constant contact with my team and customer. We had the architect going to the customer’s house twice per week and I was making weekly trips myself. It is unfortunate that at the time of this specific project’s final stages when we were waiting for the remaining materials, our office was in a state of transition by moving to another part of the city, opening up a showroom, and I was out of country for few weeks. I apologize for the delayed responses in the last few weeks of the project. Even if abroad - I did my best to follow up with this customer, answering emails every few days but it looks I failed to meet this customer expectation and I apologize for this! Material Procurement and Installation : The customer has stated that we called a supplier and pretended to be his wife to order new materials. This was clearly a misunderstanding. In this case, we accidentally threw away a sealer that was buried in the packaging. We took full responsibility for this mistake, and immediately placed an order for a new one, expecting it to be charged to dRemodeling. However, since the order was originally placed by the client online and not by dRemodeling the company sent a copy of the invoice the homeowner’s email. Because our employee who called to place the order was a female, the company assumed incorrectly that it would be the homeowner wife as identified on the bill to address. We would never, under any circumstances, ever pretend to be our customer, nor would we attempt to make the customer pay for a product that we accidentally threw away. Employees : We have a high rate of employee retention and use our valuable crew members where their expertise is needed. It may seem there is a multitude of workers, but in reality, it is each expert coming in to do their part of the larger project (i.e. master plumber, electricians, carpenters, painters). Trust us, you don’t want the plumber painting your walls! Also - Each project has a project manager in the office as well as an onsite manager who is in constant communication with the crew. Towards the end of this project when we actually got all the parts need it I was forced to send a different team which I had in the area to complete the remaining work as the team originally worked on this project was involved in another project that was to far away . Responsibility : The customer has accused us for breaking and fixing things around the house... Unfortunately when you do remodeling work things can be damaged around the house. We always take every measure of precaution in protecting customer’s belongings, but sometime these things happen, for which we always take responsibility for if we are at fault. In the case one of bookcases which were broken while we were moving furniture, we let the customer know about this problem and we fixed the bookcase. Other items were fixed by our crew, at no charge to the customer, including the broken gate or old shut down valve out of respect and duty to the customer, despite our doubt of involvement. 5 months after we completed the project we got a call from customer letting know that his furnace is not working and he thinks that we may have damaged it during work. I sent a plumber next day at 7 AM to his house to see what the problem was. Nothing was determined to be related with our work, and the we identified the problem as a lose wire in the 15 year old furnace control panel – Customer still believed it to be our fault that the furnace was not working, and he wanted it to be repaired by us for free. I explained to the customer that as we worked in the kitchen for his project, that it was unlikely that we caused this issue. While the problem may have seemed to him to be a minor and easy repair, we told the customer that is not in our area of expertise to work on furnace systems and that he should call his service company to check and repair the lose wire in the control panel. I do feel that I failed to meet this customer expectations.. And even if it is hard for me to take the blame for every accusation that the customer has made – I want to take this opportunity to apologize yet again.

Owner Dan Dragomir was very responsive and on time to give us an overall estimate of the labor costs only involved. Any additional cost was to be based on the products we eventually picked out. To understand our total cost of this project, they did provide us rough estimates based on products that were of better than average quality. As expected our final costs were a bit higher but not that much. The kitchen layout and product design was provided by Cheyanne. She was very helpful in many areas and provided guidance and scheduling assistance in our search for the kitchen products based on our personal taste and ideas. Once approved, work was scheduled around our very tight timeframe. The demolition team was very polite and professional. Every effort through-out this project was made with an effort of keep the dust and debris down to an absolute minimum which was greatly appreciated. Foreman Mario' and his team was also extremely polite, professional, and true craftsmen when it came to installation. I can not say enough about Mario and how he provided personal attention to details. We could not be happier with his work and he helped considerably in adjusting to original design changes and personal recommendations we made. Once finished, the kitchen was transformed into more than we even hope for. There is no doubt we will be giving them a call in the future for other home projects.
Description of Work: Total remodel of kitchen, vinyl flooring with grout, granite, glass backsplash, cabinets, bay window installation, and electrical work. Appliances were pre-purchased separately by owner.

The workmen who did the job were very professional, highly skilled and punctual and did their best to communicate. Material delivery was largely well coordinated with construction schedule and work was done efficiently and the end result is beautiful and well done. Construction debris was removed in a timely fashion. I would recommend dRemodeling because their work is excellent, but it is very important to communicate any concerns or requests with the owner Dan in writing and to get confirmation of understanding and that the issue will be communicated to the workmen because there were several instances of miscommunication where information (including pictures) sent to the owner was not communicated to the workmen.
Description of Work: Completely redesigned and renovated master bath, removing large whirlpool tub, repairing floor joist water damage, enlarging shower, enlarging walk-in closet. Retiled tub surround and drywall repair smaller bathroom.

Our experience with DRemodeling totally exceeded our expectations. When Dan says on time and on budget, HE MEANS IT!! We were expecting a baby and needed to move back into the house in 4 months. Other contractors had told us the work would take 6 months or more. Those contractors were so much more expensive we wouldn't have been able to do the full remodel for our budget. His team worked SO hard, even on some weekends, to get the job done on time for us. I always felt like we were a priority for them. Even once the project ended they were prompt in dealing with odds and ends. And indeed we were back in the house and I was setting up the nursery 2 weeks before my due date as planned!!! From the very beginning, Dan acted with urgency to get the job done. The guys even worked to do the demolition starting on Christmas Eve day! They had totally gutted the kitchen by the end of the day and we were able to spend our vacation brainstorming kitchen layouts since after the demo we knew our structural limitations. We worked closely with his interior designer who provided multiple kitchen layouts and 3D renderings that really look just like the kitchen does now! It gave us a great idea of what it would look like, and I was so glad they had a 3D tool like that to keep tweaking. We also worked with KaMan, their Architect, on kitchen layouts etc. She did floor plans for the entire house. She drew up official documents of every floor to show the new layouts as well as where electrical, cable, etc was going. We went through many many versions of the plans and she was always spot on and very quick to modify the plans so as not to delay us. She also has an incredible eye for color, and we trusted her to pick paint colors for the entire house in and out after describing our tastes to her. We are in love with the colors and are so thankful for her help! There were SO many decisions it was helpful to be able to hand some of them off to her. She also took multiple trips to carpet and tile stores to get us samples and meet with us to discuss what she thought looked nice together based on our tastes. She was amazing and our house would never look so beautiful if it weren't for her help Dan has relationships with multiple vendors that really saved us a TON of money - cabinets, countertops, windows and plumbing. Those are all big ticket items and in some cases the cost was HALF of what is normal. He also tries so hard to save money - he bid out our windows and we were able to save so much money as a result of his extra effort. Dan's team are some of the most courteous workers I have ever met. By the end we were all friends! Some don't speak English much at all, but we were always able to convey to them what we wanted done and the end result was always perfect, even if it took a little extra effort. They work very very hard to please and try really hard to get it right. They also never cut corners and the quality of the work speaks for itself. We have had several people comment on how excellent the quality of the work is, and they ask for the company's name. They paid such close attention to detail. There were however times when things weren't obvious to them, and we had to make them do it. So there was a lot of checking things and not making assumptions things would be done. Like for example they didn't put a threshold between the carpeted hall and the wood bedroom floors. Or they didn't stain all the windows so the color looked identical. We had to urge them to do a few things properly. Also we made our request to the worker directly, and barely saw Dan throughout the project. He is not the kind of guy to have daily meetings at the site with you, he is too busy. But that was OK for us, we spoke on the phone and via email. So working with them is not the best idea if you don't want to be engaged in the process all the time or if that will frustrate you. For us, it was exciting to be so hands on. Same thing goes for ordering materials. We were pretty much on our own to get a lot of the stuff. Overall, if you are looking for a high quality contractor who lives up to his promise on time, budget and quality, AND you are willing to deal with some English barriers and directing some aspects of the project yourself, Dan is your guy! For us, it was absolutely the perfect match. We are moving to California and I truly wish I could take them all with us to remodel our next home!
Description of Work: Dan and his team remodeled my entire house including 2 bathrooms and kitchen and also added a half bath.

My first contact with the company was when I was looking for quotes from a few contractors. I needed a master suite remodel but also needed some design idea as my wife and I tend to waiver back and forth between dozens of ideas without any clear direction--so we focused on contractors that had in-house designers. After contacting d Remodeling, Dan was out at our place within a week or so to take measurements, get a general feel for our needs and our anticipated problems (old electrical / old plumbing /etc). Within a few days of that visit we had an incredibly detailed proposal of his recommendations and budget. It includes the cost of add-ons that we may want (marble instead of ceramic tiles, etc) so we had a good idea of how a budget could expand if we weren't careful After reviewing a few quotes we went with d Remodeling as they seemed professional, friendly, organized and budget-friendly. We started design ideas immediately with an in-house designer (Cheyanne--who is awesome)--which was originally several e-mails back and forth trying to get a design board going. We did ultimately make a few shopping trips with the designer and have in-person meetings, but we started out with bouncing e-mails back and forth. Once we had the bulk of our materials picked out we moved forth with demolition and construction. The bathroom / master suite in question was on the second floor of our house--and I had recently remodeled a hall bath on the 2nd floor...so we knew to expect a ton of noise, dust everywhere, and just a huge mess. HOWEVER, we were shocked at how absolutely clean and quiet they were--the house did not get dusty at all--in fact, when the door was closed to the room you could barely tell anything was being done--the crew came every day on time, did their work, and cleaned up all signs that they were ever there at the end of the day. Through the course of the project we experienced no major problems--any problems that did arise were handled quickly, mostly not involving any effort by us (example, the tankless water heater and part of the vanity arrived slightly damaged--both were sent back for flawless parts without a hesitation and work continued without delay). In the end, we have an awesome new sanctuary of peace in our house that came within the budget we were expecting and at a reasonable timeline. The workers were great and kept us informed of their work schedule / timeline to completion. I would definitely recommend dRemodeling to anyone.
Description of Work: Complete master bathroom teardown / remodel with new electrical / plumbing installation and new tankless water heater; also performed a more basic remodel of a master bedroom with new vanity / paint / carpet / ceiling fans.

He was familiar with my type of house and was very knowledgable. His quote was thorough. I thought he was very nice and I wanted to use him for bathroom remodel. He was extremely professional and I had a very good impression of him. We emailed back and forth about pricing, there was a mixup over which bathroom in my house I wanted remodeled. He said they are a large company and it would probably be best if I found a smaller company and said he would assist me with finding a provider. However, he never followed through on this.

dRemodeling provided excellent service and complete professionalism in renovating my master bathroom. They kept me apprised of all the progress and consulted me on every minute detail (like how high the towel bar should be or where the outlet would be). The only surprise was not knowing that the shower glass would not be ready until several weeks after the project was finished. So I'm able to enjoy my beautiful bathroom but I have to shower down the hall, for now.

Dear [member name removed], It looks like in the past few weeks we received several unfavorable reviews for not responding to customers, and we would like to take the time to deeply apologize for this. We have a 24/7 answering service for our phone line, where all of our office calls get transferred to after normal work hours. As this is the case we do not expect to have any missing calls. We return all of our calls, even those for projects that are not within our service area or that are for a service that we do not offer. We do not want to turn down any business, so we like to talk to everyone about their project to see if we can offer our aid in any way. We always strive to return the calls we got within 24 hours or sooner. If we have not returned your call, there was likely a technical issue where we did not receive your message. I will investigate the source of this problem ( in addition to the other messages that were missed ) and resolve any issue. We recently moved our office/showroom so we had few days without a phone line which might be the cause of the problem. Yet again, we are sorry for causing you any inconvenience as well as for losing business. Please keep in mind that they are several ways to contact us to schedule an estimate. -215-848-4444 – Our office number – We are open 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (also after regular business hours we have a 24/7 answering service ready to take your call ) -office@dremodeling.com – Our email address -dremodeling.com/contact.htm - fill out the form on our website -Angie’s list message center Dan Dragomir | Home Remodeling | Project Manager | dRemodeling.com

Dan provided a thorough estimate for our project and his team was very helpful in helping us make design decisions and select our materials. Work was done as described in a satisfactory manner. The demolition and installation team were very responsive and everyone who worked at our house was polite, clean, and professional. The only hold up we encountered was that the vanity we selected turned out to be back ordered which delayed our project by several days. Overall, I would recommend dRemodeling for bathroom renovations.

I purchased a deal for $50 to have a set of plans drawn for a kitchen remodel. The contractor came out on schedule, consulted with me about my wishes, and about two weeks later sent me a set of plans for a kitchen remodel. He gave me a quote to do the work. At the time, I was not able to afford the remodel.
Description of Work: The provider came to my house and drew a set of plans for a kitchen remodel.
