The project involved demolition and remodeling of our entire bathroom. Our initial experience with Donatucci's was good. They were very helpful with the design process and the price for the cabinetry and fixtures seemed fair. Many of the fixtures arrived later than the initial estimates provided. The cabinets were scratched when we received them. Once the order was completed, we went to Donatucci's to schedule the install. Three times we were told that the project would start "next week." Finally we went in to the office and asked for an explanation. At that time we were told that they were unable to schedule an install date, as they were busy working on a big commercial project. When they were pushed, they still would not provide us with even a ballpark estimate of when the project would be started. Because we had now waited over 5 weeks to start the project, we cancelled the installation and hired a private contractor. During the installation it was discovered that the (very expensive) glass shower doors were not made properly. When I spoke to Donatucci's they refused to believe me, and my contractor had to take the shower doors to the show room to prove to them that the shower doors were improperly manufactured. They reordered the doors, but obviously it took several weeks for them to come in. After the cabinets were installed, the countertop was ordered. When the countertop arrived, there were no holes drilled for the faucets. When we called Donatucci's they told us that the contractor should drill the holes in the countertop with a carbide drill bit. Obviously my contractor said that was ridiculous, and I was back on the phone with Donatucci's. This time they told me to bring the countertop back and they would drill the holes while we wait. When my contractor spoke with the man who made the countertop, he informed him that he had asked Donatucci's about the spread on the faucets so that he could drill the holes appropriately. The salesman at Donatucci's actually told him not to drill the holes at all, that our contractor would do it. No one i know has ever heard of a contractor drilling holes in a countertop. I would NEVER recommend Donattuci's to anyone. Once they receive the money for your order they are completely unresponsive, unwilling to help, and unwilling to take any responsibility for their work. At some points in this whole process the salespeople were downright rude and aggressive. They won't return phone calls until you've called numerous times. It's clear why Donatucci's pushes the quality of their cabinetry over more mainstream companies: Donatucci's simply can't deliver. High quality cabinetry (which you really could buy anywhere, they sell regular name brands) does you no good if it is manufactured improperly and you can't get it installed. Trust me and the other two reviewers, stay away from this place.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel was planned. Bathroom was designed at Donatucci's and cabinets, shower doors and toilets purchased there. Had planned on having installation performed there as well, but they were unable to get it done due to a commercial job they were doing.

Interesting how a business could be around for many years, yet seem to have no idea about basic distributor warranty responsiblities. Thomas Donatucci should have immediately offered to have his delivermen come back to my house, pick up the damaged DW and schedule a delivery for a new one. Instead, he immediately passed the buck. This began as a great experience - Donatucci was quite nice and helpful when I placed the order, agreed to deliver my appliances early Friday morning and was true to his word. I was so happy that I had planned to visit his store to look at countertops. But after the run-around Friday and Saturday, I purchased my countertops elsewhere.
Description of Work: On 2/9/2011, called to purchase refrigerator and dishwasher. Thomas Donatucci was quite nice and agreed to deliver my refrigerator and DW without a deposit. As agreed, delivery was prompt, 9am on Friday, 2/11/2011. Deliverymen opened the boxes the refrig. and DW were packed in, in the middle of my street, then put both appliances in my living room. They look away all packing materials and left. The rightside of the DW frame is bent and I immediately called Donatucci. While polite, he said it was not his problem and that I needed to place a service call with GE and a technician would come to my house to fix the DW. I went to the GE website, and placed the service order. Saturday morning, GE called me and said since the DW had not been installed and it was still under 30 days since the date of purchase, that Donatucci was obligated to take back the damaged DW and either refund my $$ or deliver a new DW. GE called Donatucci on Saturday morning, and was told that no one was there who could make a decision. The GE rep. also said that the man she talked with had a "blase" and disinterested attitude about the whole thing. I also called and spoke with "Michael" who also told me there was nothing he could do. Told me to call back Monday after 11am. At no time, did he apologize. I got the same disinterested attitude the GE rep. got.

It took over 3 weeks just to schedule initiation of installation. I was barely kept updated and had to make most of the calls. After installing half of the cabinets, one had been made to the wrong size. All work on the kitchen was stopped. Work resumed after 3 weeks of waiting and much calling on my part. 5 pieces of sheetrock were in the contract to reclad old walls. This was never delivered or installed. Instead I was told that problem areas would be plastered. When it was time to plaster, installers recanted saying it would cost extra. After argument they agreed. After the countertop installation a gap was left near one of the walls that needed plastering and they refused to plaster this. 2 pieces of crown moulding broke off because the cabinet to which they were attached was not properly installed. Donatucci did not remedy the situation. Installers broke two ceramic floor tiles and never remedied. One of the cabinets was hinged by manufacturer on the wrong side. I was told it could be fixed later. After it was installed I was told it could only be partially fixed. Wrong refrigerator model was delivered. All work on kitchen was stopped for over 2 weeks. Cabinets were not shimmed properly when installed and when the stove was removed for countertop installation, it would not fit back between the crooked cabinets. The stove remained in the middle of the room and all work was stopped on the kitchen while I called regularly for over 1-1/2 months (during which time the kitchen could not be used). After installing, the refrigerator doors did not align. I was told the unit had been properly installed and leveled and it was my responsibility to contact the appliance manufacturer. After discussion it was determined a part was needed. All work was stopped on the kitchen for 2-1/2 months (during much of which time the kitchen could not be used) while I had to call constantly to get some response. Finally when the part was delivered, it was not necessary. After much arguing, the installer finally checked the leveling and found it off; the unit was properly leveled and problem resolved. After installation, 2 brackets were not installed on the refrigerator. After reluctance the installer removed the unit and installed them. The quality of work was so bad I did not call installers back and others were hired to correct the following problems (F/I.B.O.=fixed/installed by other): The refrigerator grille rattled after installation; when workers left, several screws were found that were never installed and 2 adhesive strips were thrown out, all necessary F.B.O. While fixing an incorrectly installed upper cabinet turntable, the lower turntable and cabinet were damaged F.B.O. 2 lights in contract were never installed I.B.O. 3 lengths of crown moulding at I.B.O.
Description of Work: Review design for small 56 sq. ft. kitchen renovation. Donatucci representative was nice and helpful at this stage, though I had to do much of the follow-up work. Build custom cabinets to specification - cabinets were subcontracted out. The quality of construction was very good but there were several mistakes, some of which were not fully resolved by Donatucci. Order and install high-end appliances - wrong appliances were delivered; some items were claimed to have been ordered but never were until much later; all follow-up responsibility for problems with one item were left to me; several items were improperly installed actually omitting key parts. Install cabinets, electrical lighting, and renovate existing built infrastructure for a 7' x 8' small kitchen - many problems with quality of work towards the end of construction, reluctance to perform work in contract, damage to perfectly good areas of kitchen and failure to complete some work. There was little responsiveness to fixing a number of the problems and there were numerous times. Donatucci made little or no effort to resolve many problems, nor to aid my client in the process. In my over 21 years as an Architect, this was the worst installation job I have ever seen. What should have been 1 week plus took over 4-1/2 months and was left incomplete at the end.

I will never do business with these people again and I have recommended ageist them to my friends. I have since heard from several individuals about horrible experiences with these people, incomplete and/or shoddy work.
Description of Work: I ordered and paid for a special GE range from Donatucci. When it arrived, the contractor said it would not work in my kitchen and had to be returned. Donatucci charged me a $450 'restocking charge.' I got nothing except trouble and disappointment, and it cost me $450. When I went in to get the balance of my purchase price (less the $450) they were incredibly rude.

DONATUCCI OFFERS DESIGN SERVICES AND I WAS VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE END RESULT. THE DESIGNER SEEMED VERY UNINTERESTED IN PROJECT. GRANTED, I HAD THE FINAL SAY ON WHAT CABINETS, COUNTERTOP, ETC., BUT THE DESIGNER SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE INVOLVED. ALSO, I HAD TO CONSTANTLY FOLLOW UP ON WHEN THE CABINETS WOULD COME IN. THEY WOULD ALSO LEAVE NASTY MESSAGES TELLING ME I HAD TO COME GET THE CABINETS (MISTAKING ME WITH SOMEONE WHO WAS NOT HAVING THE CABINETS INSTALLED IN THEIR HOME). A NEW CONTRACTOR IN MY HOME THOUGHT THE INSTALLATION WAS NOT THAT GOOD.
Description of Work: RIPPED OUT OLD CABINETS AND COUNTERTOP, SINK, ETC. INSTALLED NEW CABINETS, COUNTERTOP, SINK, FAUCET AND FLOORING.

DONATUCCI'S PRICES WERE VERY REASONABLE AND THE PRODUCT WAS GREAT, WHEN IT FINALLY ARRIVED. TOOK A LONG, LONG TIME FOR DELIVERY, DESPITE MANY CALLS TO THEM AND MANY PROMISES. I THINK THE MONEY WE SAVED ON THE PRICE MADE THE HASSLE WORTHWHILE. THE WORKMANSHIP WAS GOOD. PRODUCTS WERE GOOD, I THINK MAYBE THEY WERE JUST OVERWHELMED WITH LOTS OF BUSINESS. I WOULD USE DONATUCCI AGAIN, DESPITE THE WAIT.
