+ -1 moreDick is a real pro and a tireless workman. He is very organized, and he is a great problem solver. The work on my house took over a week, and each day before he left, he cleaned up the entire work area and put his supplies in a neat, out-of-the-way place. He respects the homeowner and the house, and he is very careful to protect the house as much as possible with dropcloths and protective coverings. I once had a carpenter working on my child's room who left sharp screws all over the floor, as well as debris, so I particularly value Dick's attention to detail and the fact that he's a true and quot;neatnik.and quot; Dick Gelzinis has been working on my house for almost 20 years, and I have recommended him to friends and neighbors. They have all been satisfied and repeatedly called him back for additional work.
Description of Work: Dick plastered really bad cracks on walls and ceiling of one bathroom and then painted the walls, ceiling, and woodwork, as well as an ancient radiator. He stripped off wallpaper in a second bathroom and painted that room. He also restained and sealed a worn wood medicine cabinet and made it look like new. What I especially appreciate is that he has no problem doing a beautiful job when using different paint colors in one room--and I Iike walls in one color with ceiling and woodwork in another. He also fixed an old five-paneled door that had horizontal settlement cracks in it and the remaining holes in the door and door jamb from an old mortise lock. He filled all the holes, replaced hinges, painted, put in new doorknobs, etc., and made the 100+ year-old door look beautiful and new! He also patched my old basement walls, cleaned them up in a particularly bad area, and painted them. Oh, yes--he also took off my heavy, solid oak, front door, that was sticking badly due to swelling caused by humidity, and shaved down the bottom of the door so that it can now open and close smoothly.

+ -1 moreHe is on time, both in his work and estimated job time frame. I trusted him with my keys without regret. He did extra work, where he saw it was needed, that wasn't on the original contract and didn't try to charge me more for these things. He didn't expect payment until the job was complete and I was completely satisfied. I am getting ready to hire him again to do some more interior painting on a different home.
Description of Work: He repainted the entire interior of my home.
