Definis and sons contractor and half owner Jim Definis performed work on my home and during the process broke an appraised $3000.00 concrete statuary fountain, scratched a piece of artwork and partially crushed a deck box. The Definis Bros have done nothing but give me the run around and their solution to the problem is an offer of $500. So basically, they want me to accept an offer that is a fraction of the amount paid for the items broken. What is even better is that during conversations, the second partner, Rudy Definis, admitted to my fiancee what he paid for the windows proving to us that on a $5575.00 job, his profit was over $ 3000.00. We offered to settle on an acceptable fountain that cost $ 1200.00 but were once again given the run around. Do the right thing Definis Bros and make good on your promise to make things right.

.. As i've learned... there's alot of ways to hang a door. There's these pre-fab jobbies from a big box store that are cheap but really don't hang right. I had two of these when i moved in and they were a complete mess, leaking air. People would smoke a cig outside my front door I'd smell it in my living room. Not good. So i went to Defini's and Sons showroom and picked out some new doors. They have old doors from like the 1940's up for nostalgia sake but you can't really buy em. They are just for fun. but they have new stuff too and I was pleased with the selection. This is a true family business and the friendly people explained to me how they make the door and what the benefits were. there weer a dozen customizations (peep hole or none, what type of finish for the handles etc). I got 2 steel doors and a screen door for each. They sent a guy out for measurements. They custom ordered the doors, they scheduled the installation for a Saturday. And most importantly they did an amazing job. The men were working hard from 8am to 4pm. They carefully removed and put back the trim on the interior. These doors are gonna be here long after I'm dead. When you open em you get like a woosh like it's opening a refrigerator. My house is sealed up nicely. Im very happy with the job these guys did and would absolutely go there again. My only complaint is price but it's a "get what you pay for" situation.

We went back to them because we were happy with the windows. They were reasonably priced and they did what they said they would do. They met their commitments and backed everything up.

The work was good, but it was expensive. The person who came was very good. I would recommend them.

I wanted to have 5 windows installed before the energy tax credit cut off date. Definis and Sons acted quickly and had competetive prices. They offer a discount for customers who take the time to stop by their show room and it was worth it. The show room is beautiful and it's nice to put a face to a name. They were on time when coming to measure the windows and for the installation. Their employees are friendly and efficient. Since there was lead found around my old windows, I had to pay $50 extra per window for them to dispose of it properly, but they were upfront about the cost and nothing came as a surprise.

When I called for an estimate, they wanted me to take measurements of my windows and then drive to their showroom so that they could give me a "rough estimate" based on my "rough measurements". I thought that this was unacceptable, especially because other companies were chomping at the bit to come out to my house and give an estimate. I did not choose this company.

Excellent. I have used Definis and Sons for replacing many windows in my house and patio and they do an excellent job every time. That is why I have used them for many years when I need window and door replacements.

The work turned out very good and we were very pleased with him. They did a real good job and very nice to deal with. It wasn't pressure like other vendors companies with prices only good if you sign today. They were efficient as far as when they came into the house to put the windows in, everything was top notch. They cleaned up after themselves. They said the time they were going to be here is when they arrived. They were just very efficient and very good to deal with. The workers were fine, great. As far as installing the windows, everything around the windows had to be popped out and no touch ups of paint or anything needed to be done. Everything was very professional. It took a full day; they told us it might take 2 depending on what they found.

Excellent the door was ordered from their showroom and we were told it would take nine weeks-it actually took about five weeks. The door looks so much like wood you can only tell that it is steel by touching it (the wood grain is an extra $200-but I would recommend it). The installer was very professional and worked non-stop for about three hours. The door really makes a nice statement. The door comes with a metal frame and is capped and caulked. I would highly recommend them.

I really needed windows in my house because I had wood casement windows that were starting to rot away due to water damage. I found out about this company from a co-worker of mine. I must say from the first encounter to the day of when the work was completed, they were professional, friendly and courteous. They gave me the best casement replacement windows with double pane glass. The owner was nice and reasonalbe. He gave me his honest opinion about my window choices. The guys who came to install the windows were nice and respectful of my property. I love my new windows. I couldn't have asked for a better company. I am very picky about who I contract to do work in my house and I was impressed. I had them measure some more windows in my house because I will be using them again.

Unfortunately I needed to replace one window, and they said their minimum window replacement was three windows. I might ask them for a quote in the future, but they clearly don't get a good rating for not serving me now.

After getting three other estimates, Mr. Definis was breath of fresh air! He came out and brought us a sample of the actual window he was recommending and showed us all the features it had. He answered all our questions and gave us the same discounted price they had offered at the recent Philadelphia Home Show, which we did not attend. He promised that even if we couldn't afford to do the whole house at once, he would still honor that discount for an entire year. (We plan to do the upstairs in the fall.) He gave us a lot of information about the insulation factors in the windows, actually showed us how they operated, and told us how the tax credit worked. Then, since we were clearly interested, he only asked for a $200.00 deposit, and told us he would call us when the windows came in. As promised, 4-6 weeks lated, we gave a call and a team of 3 men came and replaced the windows in about 4 hours. They brought in tarps and covered the floors and even vacuumed afterwards. My only compaint was that there was dust on everything throughout the downstairs after they left, but they offered to pay me $100.00 to have the downstairs cleaned. The windows are gorgeous! We are enjoying them so much I still haven't put up any curtains yet! I can't wait to do the upstairs. I highly recommend this company.

My experience with them was positive. They were terrific. They provided me the windows that were of much higher quality than the other company. The price was much lower than anybody that I talked to. It was about $1600 lower than other companies. They installed the windows for $900. It took a little bit of time for the windows to be ordered to come in. once they came in they were here on schedule. They were done in half a day. There is a major improvement in the appearance of our property after replacing the windows. So I am very happy with them. I have recommended them to a lot of my friends.

Eventhough the doors took longer than expected, all the locks on the doors were made to accept the same key. The security door that arrive with the handle on the wrong side was immediately reordered. All the installers were pleasant and aimed to please. I will use this company again.

My first contact with the company was over the phone to set up an appointment for an estimate. On the phone it was recommended that I come in to the showroom to get a more accurate idea of the doors that were available and to keep the cost to a minimum. I was glad I went to the showroom to see the different doors and different glass that was available. Once our doors were selected we waited about a week for the doors to be measured and were told the doors would be ready in 9-12 weeks, and so I waited patiently. At week 12 I called Definis and asked if the doors were in and they said yes, we could schedule an appointment for delivery and installation. I did wonder how long they had been in but I didn't say anything. The doors were installed on a Friday when I would be home. The installers were professional and neat. The doors are a perfect fit and I am extremely happy with the result. Because the moulding around the outside of the front door was broken and needed replacement I was concerned about how the new moulding would match the existing siding. It looks perfect. I didn't realize it but when ordering the back door it was ordered with a door knocker and a peep hole! Not that either of those is necessary on a back door but I had signed the order form so I can't place the blame on Definis. I am extremely happy with the experience and result.

They were very helpful in their showroom. Once everything was made they put everything in in one day.

We had used them to secure a security door for the front. Very professional, courteous. I was told it would take 6 weeks for the order to come in. They called me right at 6 weeks as promised. The door was delivered and installed within two days. The installer showed up at 8:30 am, so I didn't have to kill the day waiting. He installed caulk around the door's perimeter to keep out the cold in the winter. The door came with 2 panes of glass and a screen. He also replaced the pump mechanism in the front door that had bent in the wind (this was arranged up front and part of the quote). He cleaned up the old screen door and neatly disposed of the waste and left me with extra screws for the panes and touch up paint.

They were very good. They were reliable, patient, and professional. The price was competitive. I have recommend them to multiple people.

We paid the initial deposit for the work at the Philadelphia Home show. The employee came out within a week to take measurements for the doors. It took approximately 8 weeks for the doors to be ready for installation. The installers arrived very early (7:45am) on the scheduled installation day. The work was completed over the course of 2 days. The installation went smoothly. The doors look great--like a mini face lift for the house.

From start to finish the work went very well. The installation crew were fast, efficient and neat, and very nice. The entire job took about two and a half days to complete. Communications with this company were excellent. Very pleased with this company.

They were fast and professional. A problem arose when the screen door failed to stay on the track, but the man who installed it came right back to fix the problem, actually he came back twice because the first fix only lasted two days. To fix it, he wedged a two-by-four under the threshold. This solution seems to work, but I fear it will eventually rot; he did say that poured concrete would have been better (but they don t do concrete, and the door was already installed). It took a bit of nagging on my part to get them to come back the second time though he did t complain. Also, they first asked me to wedge some brick paver's under the door to see if that would work (it did not, so he came back). I suppose Defines values customer service, but I did not like hearing "I should have done it this way the first time."

Their sales people are very knowledgeable and prompt. Their work crews are the best that have ever entered my home. They know their trade, are courteous, prompt, and extremely neat. All trash was removed. When they left my home, both inside and out, were neat and clean just as if nothing had taken place. I found them to be the most respectful contractors I have ever hired when it came to how they treated my home while they performed their work. I have given very freely many recommendations to my friends and neighbors regarding DEFINIS & Sons and I will continue to do so in the future. They offer a high grade product that I know will last me for many years in my home.

EXCELLENT job! The new doors are tight fitting, yet easily opened and closed. We asked for a brush nickel hardware package (which they did not have at the store) and made sure it was what we wanted BEFORE installing it on-site. The workers were punctual, clean and courteous. ALL of our questions were answered in detail. The front of our home looks GREAT!

THEIR WORK WAS DONE PERFECTLY --- NO PROB W/ THE WINDOWS. THE WORK WAS DONE JUST LIKE THEY SAID, AND AFTER THEY CLEANED UP --- YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW THEY WERE THERE.
