CUSTOM ROOFING

Rubberized roof was installed on a rental property. Renters were present and reported the roofers were prompt and efficient. Custom roofing sent us photos since we were not present at time of installation which we thought was a nice courtesy. We were pleased with their work until the renters reported a water leak and when we called them, 11/12, we found out all the phone numbers were disconnected. We assumed they went out of business, so our 15 yr guarantee was useless. The worse part was when my insurance company came to assess the water damage and went up on the roof and they reported I didn't have a rubber roof. We were totally scammed!

I have been trying to reach Custom Roofing since May. He left a message on my answering machine once. I asked him the next to leave a cell phone number where I could reach him if he didn't get me live. I finally talked to and we set up an appointment for him to come out and look at a leak. He believed the roof probably needed re-coating. I told him that it hadn't been 5 years yet, and he said there would be no charge. He never showed nor called to reschedule. It amazes me that there is a report dated July 2007 for a new roof installed. He must still be in business, but John's not following up on repairs under warranty.

The contractor determined that it was probably best that a new layer be laid on top of the old one. He and his co-worker worked quickly and when they were done did an excellent job of cleaning up. They could've done a neater job of rolling the layer on but it was ok.

I first heard of this company because they helped my friend when he ran out of gas on the side of the road. They came by and gave me the estimate. I compared their prices and professionalism with others and decided to give them a shot. They also gave me two references who had great things to say. They came at 9am and were done by 2pm. I have a three story row home with three roofs. They put brand new rubber granulated roofs on all three, plus waterproofed the siding that was adjacent to my kitchen roof. They also replaced my rain gutters and pointed them into my backyard drain. When they were done, the roofs were a bit messy with tar marks and debris, but it looks like they did a good job. It's been a few weeks and some heavy rains and no leaks so far. They provide a 15 year warranty as long as you let them perform any repairs every five years.
