I live in a condo and the condo uses this company as their contractor. Ken first came two days ago on Saturday and inspected the ceiling water damaged area and assured me he was 100% sure that there was no mold from the water leaks.. He then came at a timely manner this morning with his two helpers and filled in the holes but before that he just to make sure sprayed the interior areas where the damage was with a strong mold killer. And then sealed up the two holes , waited a couple hours for it to dry, and then came back and painted every area that needed to be painted and he even did a little bit more. Ken is very friendly and knowledgeable and I would hire him again definitely. I also I have two friends that will most likely use him as their contractor as they need some help also going forward. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Ken did the tile flooring in nearly the entire lower level of our home a few years ago, and we continue to admire and accept compliments on his spectacular flooring work. This time, however, we benefited from his plumbing expertise as he continues to amaze and spoil us with his many talents. My parents' home is aging and despite having another plumber replace all the shut-off valves on their upper level just a few years ago, we discovered the hard way that at least one had ceased to work already. We needed to replace a bathroom faucet that had begun to leak but were stuck with shut-off valves that would not shut off the water. My mother called Ken about the valve and the faucet on the off-chance he would at least be able to recommend someone she could trust because she knows we trust him so much. Ken, however, had a different plan. They agreed on a day he could come out to look at the job, and when the day arrived, he called and asked if it was okay if he arrived an hour early with Gabriel to help. The two set about fixing the problem immediately. Two trips to the store later with receipts to prove what he had bought, and my parents were in better shape than the last plumber ever could have left them: TWO new shut-off valves, stainless flex lines to the new faucet he installed, a surprise new drain pipe as time and age had deteriorated the old one and would have caused a huge leak, and epoxy that repaired the rust spots starting to form on the bottom of the cast iron sink...just in case. My parents feel VERY confident in Ken's promise that the entire sink set-up will serve them well for a long time to come, and the feel just as secure in the knowledge that if anything else (inevitably) goes wrong with their home, they will call Ken first.

We had used Ken Clark around 10 years ago and were very happy with his plaster repair and painting. I was looking for him and couldn't find him as his number changed. Didn't hire anyone else until I found him again. Very professional, reliable, and we are happy with all work completed. His crew is neat, knowledgeable and were very kind. If you find a tiny spot that they miss or have questions or suggestions, they are immediately responsive to your needs. I didn't get any other estimates as we were very happy 10 years ago. We hope to have him back after the Holidays to do our 3 bedrooms. Also, they are family...brother in laws, and his Uncle too. Say hi to Uncle Mike for me! Hope to see you back here soon.
Description of Work: Painting, plaster repair. Living room, Dinning Room, Kitchen, All windows, baseboards, doors both sides, closets, door trims, Stairway, Hallway. Bathroom baseboard radiator covers . Repaired popcorn ceiling from leak. Sanded, plastered and repaired holes in walls. Supplied paintbrushes, plastic, paint rollers, tape, pans etc, etc & all tarps, (and he takes them home each night and washes them,, & they smell like Gain).- this means alot to me as I don't want anyone else's fleas or bedbugs.,,,I'm just saying. I only had to purchase the paint.

Ken and Gabe were extremely professional, punctual, responsive and a pleasure to be around. My wife is 8 months pregnant and we had another contractor who did a terrible job on our bathroom remodel. We needed a new floor so that we would be able to use the tub right away. We called Ken and he understood the urgency of our need. He squeezed us into his very busy schedule. Ken and Gabe came and did the job in one day. During the job they even noticed that we had a backed up sink in the kitchen and fixed it for us for free. after they were done they cleaned the entire area and left our home spotless. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs work done on their house. Will use their services again for sure.

We had a few surprises and delays due to unavoidable condo rules, building permits and original construction requirements, which cut a week off construction timetable. But problems we thought were insurmountable, Ken easily solved. He has so much construction knowledge and good common sense. In the end, we had to move in 3 days before remodeling was complete, but that was a minor inconvenience. Ken stuck to the original budget (almost unheard of!) and worked until we were completely satisfied. Our new apartment is a showcase.
Description of Work: We bought a condo apartment in need of renovation. We had limited time (4 weeks) and a tight budget for tearing down walls, opening up the layout, remodeling an ugly bookcase and built-in storage unit, installing new hardwood flooring, new lighting, and new master bath fixtures, and painting everything.

Ken Clark and his team provided a quick fix to our bathroom tile problems, so that we could install grab bars in the shower. Ken understood the urgency of making the bathroom more accessible for my husband, who is undergoing cancer treatments. Ken fixed our weak wall problem and retiled the bathroom over the course of several days. While addressing the safety issue was paramount for us, we also were impressed with the beautiful results.

As before, we found Ken to be honest, friendly, reliable and reasonably priced.
Description of Work: Ken had done a number of small jobs at our house--including the replacement of an old roof deck--and we had always been satisfied with the quality and cost of his work. (And we are very picky about aesthetics.) So when we bought a condo in need of renovation, we turned to Ken and his crew again. We had limited time (4 weeks) and a tight budget for tearing down walls, installing new hardwood flooring, new lighting and bathroom fixtures, and painting everything. We also has many surprises due to condo rules and original construction, that necessitated changes of plans along the way. But problems we thought were insurmountable Ken easily solved. He has so much construction knowledge and good common sense. In the end, we had to move in 3 days before construction work was finished (a minor inconvenience), Ken stuck to the original quoted estimate (almost unheard of!) and worked until we were completely satisfied. Our new apartment is a showcase.

Clark's Contractor came recommended to me by my broker, and I could not be happier with their service. Ken Clark totally understood the scope of work that needed to be done, and was incredibly responsive, even during a very busy period. Apart from the work that was agreed upon, he and his crew went the extra mile by doing some landscaping around the house, making sure the house can be presented in great condition. I can highly recommend Ken and his team.

I contacted the provider because he was listed under "snow removal" he said he would come by my house to assess the approximate cost. he never called me back with the cost. I contacted him again one week later to ask if he had come by my house and he said he would get back to me but never did. too bad because he was listed as contracting services also and I just bought a new house and would have used him if he was the least bit professional.

The service was more than perfect! I was extremely stressed and overwhelmed with the cracked pipe as any water use in my house added to the leak in my garage. I found Clark's and within hours he was at my door. He was very professional and easily explained what needed to be done. Within that quick interaction, I felt so much more at ease and comfortable that there was a solution in sight. Ken was back the next day, promptly, and with all the materials needed. He was very cautious of keeping his work area clean and containing the area among my home as work needed to be done on two levels of the house. Ken was extremely friendly, listened to my concerns, and did high quality work. Within the short period of time he worked on my house, he was easily reachable over the phone for a few questions I had and I always felt that he was patient and courteous. While sealing up my walls, Ken even offered to patch up a few other areas that needed it in the surrounding space. While the broken pipe issue caused me a lot of stress, Clark's services made a world of a difference and made what could have been an awful experience, pretty much pain free. I would hire Ken back for future work, big or small!
Description of Work: Clark's diagnosed a puddle in my garage that was due to a cracked waste pipe in the middle of my house. He was able to quickly figure out the problem, provide an estimate and schedule the repair the very next day.

I would like to express my appreciation to Ken from Clark's Contracting for doing a exceptional job attaching a drainage pipe that came loose in the back of my home near the roof top. Even with his very busy schedule he still came out to my home and did the job that was needed. Ken was very professional, prompt, courteous and really nice. I was very impressed and will definitely be calling Ken for future remodeling jobs for my home. I will also recommend Ken to family and friends.

Clark was very responsive in clearing our driveway following the major snowstorm. Our regular provider failed to show up, and we called several snow removal services in the area, but Clark was the only one who picked up his cell phone and promised to come to our house as soon as possible. He was extremely busy due to the demand for plowing, but he came as promised and cleared the driveway for a very reasonable charge. He even laid salt, which I did not expect! I told him we will use him again for snowplowing as well as his other contracting/construction services. I would recommend him to anyone. He was terrific!

I am now convinced that Ken and his crew are magicians who can take an uneven, cracked, and completely ugly floor and turn it into a unified and beautiful work of art to show off to anyone who enters our home. There was no question who to hire after Ken did such an amazing job on our uneven (and even uglier) bathroom floor, and we knew we would not be disappointed. Each day, Ken would explain what he and his crew would be doing, and they would work tirelessly, sometimes until 8pm until that part of the job was complete. They would make sure our kitchen was usable the fridge was always plugged in, there was always temporary flooring put down, and the area was tarped off and vacuumed clean so that we could access our food but not fall through the joists or spread dust to the rest of our home. He and his crew are very family-friendly they always use clean language (important with two little ones around to hear and repeat everything!), they never yell, they do not play loud music, and they are always ready to help or explain anything they are doing. The job was exhausting and exhaustive (it included a good portion of our first floor kitchen, foyer, and main hallway), but Ken and his crew always kept their cool, even in the face of a few surprises. They had to remove FOUR layers of flooring that had buckled over the years and buried our kitchen cabinet kickplates. They removed tile from the kitchen that was not adhered properly and tile from the foyer that was like concrete. They had to level several joists that had crowned and caused long speed bumps in our kitchen floor. They leveled my range and dishwasher after two years of making lopsided casseroles and long pancakes. They removed a part of a wall that stumped us after we demolished most of it ourselves. They removed a door and replaced it with a window so that it looks like it was there all along. All of these items we had discussed in advance, and Ken handled it in stride. On the second day, they discovered a hole in our foundation that was allowing rodents into the area under our kitchen. Eww! Ken assessed the structural integrity of our house, installed a support joist, showed us how to fix the hole, and even showed up the next day with a bag of concrete and the willingness to brave the thorniest rose bushes to fix the problem. He insulated the space after determining that the existing insulation was completely inadequate, and as a result, we do not have any more mice, AND we have a MUCH warmer basement. This problem had been years in the making, probably passed through many contractors? hands, and it was Ken who found it and solved it. When it came time to lay the tile, Ken discussed several different tile layouts, even measuring and laying them out for us to see, and we decided on a diagonal pattern that Ken warned us would involve a lot more time and cutting than we had originally planned. Undaunted, he laid them out so that the joints would line up perfectly down the perpendicular hallways, and we fell in love. It took Ken and his crew much more time (even a Saturday!) with our unexpectedly intricate design, but in the end the job looks amazing, and we enjoy showing it off to everyone who enters our home (how could they miss it?) Just like with the bathroom he had done for us before this project, it feels like Ken just reads our minds for how the job should look, then he carries out the plans we had in mind. He is an excellent communicator, which is so important when it is a flooring design we will see every day for a very long time. We completely trust that if we hire Ken, the job will be to our expectations (even exceed them!) and that problems will be met and solved with minimal disruption. We are already planning to have Ken and his crew gut and remodel our other bathroom, and this time, we will be allowing him much of the creative control since he has proven once again that he has a passion for doing quality work with quality materials.
Description of Work: Ken and his crew removed FOUR layers of an existing floor in our kitchen, entryway, hall closet, and main hallway. They replaced it with a wood-look tile floor throughout. They also removed a door and replaced it with a window.

Ken called ahead and asked permission to arrive early for his free estimate. He said the tub removal would be easy, but he thoroughly inspected the bathroom floor as it was badly warped. He correctly diagnosed it as a crown in the joist under the floor and said he would remove the entire floor, sister the joist underneath, then remove enough of it to make the floor flat. He quoted us a ballpark price on the spot because he did not know the extent of the damage until he removed the floor. He also coordinated the job with the plumber we had hired to do the work on the bathtub and plumbing system so that everything ran smoothly with minimal effort on our part. Ken called the night before work would begin to let us know what to expect, from the time he would be arriving to what he would be doing. True to his word, he and his guys (he employs his family members, who are also very skilled) arrived on time the first day and removed the tub, surround, and the entire floor in one day. They noticed that when we removed the toilet and vanity, there was mold on the wall from an old leak. Ken is also certified in mold removal and advised us to remove the wallboard to eliminate the musty smell and any dangerous mold. They did that the first day as well. The next day, they sistered and fixed the crown in the joist and put down the plywood for the subfloor. After that, they put up and spackled the new drywall, using green-board to make it less likely to get moldy in the future. They put up the cement board and tiled the tub wall, working with my pattern and the very irregular-shaped tiles I had purchased, making the entire job smooth, even, and PERFECT. I didn't even have to ask Ken to make certain the also-irregular pattern in the tile would match up to avoid a dark and a light tile being next to each other -- Ken already saw the potential problem and worked very hard to correct the manufacturer's seeming flaws in the tile without being asked. The next day, Ken and his team arrived early to put down the cement for the floor. He and I laid out my fairly intricate pattern ahead of time to make certain I was happy with the design, and he was very patient with my pattern and with me. He then prepped the surface, put down cement that was the consistency of Play-Doh, and put the tiles we had chosen directly into the wet cement. He grouted at the same time, explaining the benefits of a floor that is ALL ONE PIECE. It is PERFECTLY flat, the tiles are also PERFECTLY chosen and aligned, and we are THRILLED with the work. Ken and his team even returned the next day to make sure everything was drying properly and that the job met our expectations. In all, Ken seems to be a "Jack of All Trades", but in all the areas we required his services, he and his team are masters of all of them. He is extremely patient and professional, explaining each day's work both the day before and the day of the work. He answered all the questions we had with detailed explanations that show he is passionate about his work AND about customer service. He and his guys are efficient and quiet in their work (that's important to a family with young children!), and they are CLEAN. Each day, it was just like you would see on TV: the floor disappeared, the floor reappeared, the tile appeared, etc. with NO MESS because Ken is meticulous in the way he left our home for us each night when he finished. They cleaned up the dust and debris before leaving each night to minimize the "construction feel" for our family. It is very hard to find such a skilled, pleasant, honest, and tidy contractor, and we are so happy to have found Ken! We have so much more work to do around our home, and we will be asking Ken to do ALL of the jobs!
