When Chris Bongard was hired he told me what quality work they do. He told me he would charge me $250 to completely prep and paint the area. The following day when they showed up, he left one guy to do the work himself. The guy came in apologizing a few hours later to tell me that he would not be able to replicate the level of work that had been previously done and he did not know how he would replicate that. He had called Chris and Chris had provided him with a heat gun that did not work. The guy doing the work pulled on my heart strings talking about his illness and the pride that he liked to take in the work; however, given the time frame allowed for the job, he would not be able to replicate the work. This put me in an awkard position. I could either allow them to keep working knowing that it would be a low level of quality or dismiss them and feel incredibly awkward. The guy working on this either played me for a chump (which it turns out I was) or was truly relaying his frustration regarding not being able to get the work done. I am upset that I let them finish the work. I am disappointed in the end job. They did not remove the paint and from 15 feet at ground level you can see all the left over paint. I do not know how long the paint will last. They left telling me it was water tight. Aesthetically it is not what I had thought it was going to be. I paid for a cheap job, I chickened out on confronting them about it, and know every time I enter my house it is staring me in the face. I hope that no one else goes through this and that others will learn from my mistakes. I do not like to be confrontational nor do I like to criticize people's work. I expect them to do what they said. After this experience I am left feeling like a was taken for a fool. I hope that others will learn from this and stand up and have them stop work if it feels like it is not going well.
Description of Work: Scrape existing paint from Soffit and facia at roof edge. Paint with Primer and a top Coat of paint provided by owner. The work would be adjacent to work I had done previously and it had been agreed that it would match that level of finish. I was quoted 1 1/2 days of work at $250
