Central Granite Repair

Marble and Granite, Countertops and Backsplashes

About us

The President of Central Granite repair is Kevin Givnin Jr. Kevin has 15 years experience in the Natural Stone Industry, operating in the Greater Philadelphia area. Kevin's father started a granite shop when he was 3 years old. He was introduced to the industry at 13. Since then he has gained extensive experience with Granite, Marble, Soapstone, Limestone and Quartz products. He spent the first 5 years in a granite shop fabricating countertops for kitchens and bathrooms. This included everything from the raw cut of a slab, to cutting and sometimes the making of custom sinks, to putting the final edge detail on the counter. After the time spent in fabrication he moved into the process of installing the finished product into customers homes. Since this time he has perfected the art of repairing, resurfacing, and sealing of all types of stone.

Kevin was very quick to respond to my hundreds of emails and was patient with everything I needed. He was extremely friendly and willing to help me get the project completed the way I needed it done. I would absolutely recommend Kevin to anyone who needs work or assistance with their marble and granite! He made the entire process easy and stress free!
Description of Work: I had a large marble dining table top piece that I needed reworked and cut down.

We were extremely pleased with the work that was done by Kevin. He was a pleasure to deal with. I called him and he was able to give us an estimate over the phone, which we felt was reasonable for the job. He gave us a time that he would come out to our home to do the work. In less than 5 minutes, we were all set! Kevin came out to do the work on the day we planned, and was very punctual. He had driven a distance to get to us, and I had expected he could be a bit late, but he wasn't! Kevin was very professional and polite. He told me it would take about an hour and a half to do the work, and I believe it took less time. Kevin was very respectful of our home, and was concerned with controlling the dust produced by the procedure. He put up plastic in the area, and created a "plastic cocoon" in which to work. He had warned me when we spoke, that even though the plastic was used, that some dust still gets out of the "cocoon." That was good advice, because I was able to remove things ahead of time in the surrounding cabinets, and put up some of my own plastic, which saved me a lot of cleanup time. I appreciated that! Kevin was also careful when moving the range on the floor, not to scratch the surface of the floor. The work that he did cutting down the countertop was accurate and professionally done. He measured very carefully, and made sure he measured it again....better to measure twice and cut once! I always follow that myself! It didn't take that long for the actual cutting, so I wasn't bothered by the noise at all. The preparation and cleanup was a large portion of the time needed for the job. After the job was done, Kevin spent a lot of time cleaning up. He did a great job cleaning up, so I really didn't have that much dust to deal with. I was surprised at how little was left; only a very small amount in a couple cabinets and a drawer, plus in some of the edges of the molding on the cabinet doors. Pretty much what you would expect, but greatly minimized by Kevin's cleanup work. Kevin went beyond what he had to do, and did not leave our range hanging in the middle of the floor. He plugged it in, and placed the range in the space, and even fixed the leveling legs on the range so it would fit as snuggly as possible between the countertops. This really impressed me. Few people take the time to do anything extra, just to help out these days. I think that says a lot about a person's character. That is a good person to do business with, for sure! I would highly recommend Granite Central Repair for any such work you need. Kevin was very knowledgeable about the business, as his father had done the same work, so he grew up in the business. I would encourage you to visit his website and read about his background. He has photos on there of granite repair work that was done, and it is impressive. I will definitely hire Granite Central Repair again, if I have granite work to be done in the future!
Description of Work: We needed to have the edges of our granite countertop trimmed, so we could slide our new range into a space between two countertops. Our home is centuries old, and when the remodel was done years before we bought the house, space was very limited. We purchased a standard size 30" range, which was about 3/4" too wide for the space. It was the narrowest range we could have gotten of the slide in variety to replace the same type and brand of range that was there. We literally had no other alternatives. Central Granite was a life saver for us!
