Dan, Lorenzo, and their team were super attentive in ensuring our project went as smooth as possible. We had a really large, complicated, waterproofing job that involved a basement demo, an interior french drain, exterior drainage, and additional waterproofing in our house and these guys were professional, honest, and unbelievably hardworking. From the start, the initial scheduling phone call to Basement Gurus was delightful; the receptionist was very polite & friendly. On appointment day, Dan (the owner) was also pleasant. He was on time, easy to talk to, listened to all my concerns with water management around my property with outstanding attentiveness, and thoroughly devised a well-thought-out plan to address all of my problems. Dan didn't try to upsell me or undercut issues to get a sale. He only recommended what I needed for that moment & for the future to mitigate any further water problems. During the assessment, I couldn't help but get overwhelmed by the amount of work he started suggesting (while also getting that queasy homeowner feeling that I might have to spend a fortune on this), but his estimate surprised me. It was so reasonable for the amount of work needed that I had no difficulties going for it! What made it even better was that Dan could get me on the calendar for a rapid project start date. The team that conducted all the physical labor was respectful, polite, considerate of my home, and some of the hardest workers I had ever met. Even after a long day of back-breaking toil, they still made time to walk me around the work sites to see if it was up to my expectation. Dan would even periodically stop by to ensure the progress was up to his satisfaction, which reassured me throughout the entire process. I took even more solace knowing that Dan backs his company's work-up. He made it very clear that I let him know even after job completion if something was not to my liking. I live in a house that is over 100 years old with a stone foundation that also forms the basement walls. The old mortar between the stones had deteriorated over the years to the point that water would seep in in multiple places along the perimeter of the basement wall. This seepage basically occurred after every rain, and I always needed to move objects stored in the basement away from the perimeter for fear that they would be water damaged. I actually wasn’t very confident that the seepage problem could be fixed, but I finally decided to contact several basement contractors to determine if there was anyway to waterproof the basement. I ultimately decided to hire Basement Gurus because Mike (initial company contact) sold me on the idea and that their workers were the best in the business. Well, it’s been seven weeks since the basement work was completed, and even though we’ve had a couple of nor’easters with heavy rain blow through the area, the basement has been bone dry; the basement work has been a resounding success! I take my hat off to all the good folks at Basement Gurus, in particular Mark, Dylan, Lenny and the other members of the team that worked hard to waterproof my basement. In sum, I would highly recommend to other homeowners who may be experiencing similar basemen water seepage problems to consider Basement Gurus as their “go-to” company.

Basement Gurus is the best for your basement and waterproofing needs. Daniel Kelly, the owner is very personable and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. The process was seamless and quick. I had water damage in my garage that was running into my basement, and Dan himself came out and did an assessment and came up with a rock solid solution to fix my issue. Requested quote on putting in concrete porch. Received a quote and they started the work the very next day! The Forman was very detailed, in the work the workers were doing. They did an excellent job! What really impressed me too, a young lady in front of the house had a flat tire, the Forman stopped his work, and asked her if he could assist her. I used Basement Guru's for a multi-project situation at my house in spring 2021. Dan was super professional and courteous and very helpful - as was his team that showed up to do the actual work. One major thing I liked is that they were able to accomplish a bunch of products for me. It was easy to find one company to do a french drain - and another to do a new window well - but - in addition to that - I had three other projects - for a total of 5 to get completed at once! Basement Guru's was able to fix ALL of these issues for me! Getting water in my finished basement was horrible for me and my family - in a room we use daily. Dan and his team made the process to get it fixed as easy as possible and with great communication and concern for my well being and my families well being. I literally had 10 companies come and give me quotes and their opinions. 3 of them tried to sell me on something that was obviously NOT needed. Then, an additional 2 were terrible communicators - I had to chase after them to just get a quote! The rest - couldn't do ALL of the work - just some of the work. I am attaching pics of two of the 5 projects - which were the main things I needed done - a french drain in my unfinished basement (the water getting into my unfinished basement was causing a leak in two spots in my finished basement) - and then a new window well - which was causing a leak in another part of my finished basement. Before posting this - I was reading some of the other reviews Basement Gurus received. Like anything else - perception is certainly everything. I am the kind of person that does a ton of research and gets a bunch of quotes. Customer service is very important to me. Certainly, there is absolutely no way a company can please everybody - and have every job go 100% well - its just not possible. Was I completely 100% satisfied with everything this company did for me? Of course not. However, I will say this - Dan and his team went out of their way to make things right and to make me happy. Do i recommend them? YES !! But, even more important........Would I hire them again??? - absolutely!

After dealing with water issues in our basement for years, we finally found someone to help remedy our issue. The Basement Gurus saved the day.

PRO: For installing an interior French drain, while it was pouring outside, the crew was extremely clean. Both my yard and interior of my house was left with only minor evidence of the work. PRO: The initial consultation with Phil Thistle was informative and provided me with piece of mind in terms of the project and projected outcome. It seemed as though we would have support throughout the project. PRO: Owen Dan Kelly is very dedicated to the quality of his company and the work they do. Once he found out about some of the concerns I had with the project, he remedied them immediately. I was very impressed with the attention he provides his customers. CON: Communication. Up to the install, I was in constant contact with the company about timing and expectations. However, as soon as the install began and then directly after, I was on my own. There seemed to be no one overseeing the install, just the crew doing the work. Also, there were miscommunications about the project throughout the install; the crew was asking me for direction on installation steps I have no background on. CON: Support. Again, as soon as the install was complete, that was it. Phil showed me images of pictures he took with satisfied customers on past installs, making me feel that he was dedicated to the project's success. However, after the consultation, even though he was copied on various emails about some of my concerns, he never got back in touch. In addition, no one ever contacted me to see if I had questions about the finished product, to see how everything turned out, or if there was anything else I needed. CON: Timing. The crew was on-time for the install both days, however, the schedule was more impactful to my routine than expected. The crew worked 9AM - 3PM only on Day 1. However, to finish in 2 days, they worked 8:30AM - 7:30PM on Day 2. As I have a small child, having construction still happening after 7:30PM was difficult, but more so was confusing as Day 1 ended so early.

Chris and Dan at basement Gurus were terrific to work with. My finished basement was a long term disaster with must and mildew in my walls and carpet. We no longer wanted to spend time there. I had a team of 12 guys come and do an excellent job in installing my French drain and a full perimeter pressure release system with two sump pumps. NO more water! Then Kurt came and refinished my basement so it was a complete job done through Basement Gurus. See the beautiful result below. I couldn't be happier! As a pastor, I was looking for honest men to do quality work! These guys were terrific!

I had probably 8 streams of water POURING water into my basement which was plaguing me every storm. From beginning to end the experience I had with the basement gurus was top notch. They came out and assessed the problem, explained in detail what would need to be done and due to being busy gave us a month or so out. They called us up saying hey we’re good for a time much earlier than predicted if needed we took the time slot and were done within a day. Perfect and no other water has come in the basement

We had a really bad storm and my basement had water all over the place, I called a few places but Basement Gurus where there the next day. When I met with Dan Kelly for the estimate he was on time, wore his mask and we did a walk-through inside the basement and outside the perimeter of my home. He asked me exactly what I would like done and how Basement Gurus could help. Dan offered me different options, was very informative and showed me what materials they use compare to others. We sat down and reviewed the cost of options and set the install date, he also mentioned that they had a finance option in case I needed it. Dan was very professional, treated me like if we knew each other for years and NOT pushy at all to sell me on his product. Once the date was set, his crew came in early in the morning and was done the same day. Very happy with my decision, not had a leak since and have peace of mind. After the job was completed, Dan contacted me to see how everything was going and I informed him that we had lost my dad, he gave me his condolences and next thing I know I received a card in the mail from him and Basement Gurus. We had finally saved up enough to consider finishing part of our basement. But we knew we had some moisture and mold issues that needed to be taken care of first. Basement Gurus evaluated the situation and provided us a plan of attack. They upgraded our existing French drain system, removed the existing mold, and treated our walls to prevent future issues. Then when it was determined that our project would require an egress to meet our township's building code, they installed that too. The work was extremely high quality and efficient. They were respectful of our home. And when we ran into some minor issues with their finishing contractor, they quickly got involved and got everything working smoothly. Our project rep, Phil, was extremely attentive to our needs and what WE wanted to do, and didn't steer us into something we didn't want. He worked with us on pricing and payments so that we would be comfortable with our finances. Best of all, he constantly called or stopped in throughout the whole process to make sure our questions were answered and that everything was to our satisfaction. We now have the space we've wanted since we moved in nearly 12 years ago. Looking forward to watching the Super Bowl this weekend in my new room!

Dan Kelly is honest and will address any issues in the system. We had flooding due to poor drainage. Dan helped design a system to divert the water around and further away from our finished basement. When the system was overwhelmed in heavy downpour, they came back out twice to make necessary changes to keep all the water out of the basement.
