Tore out old tile ceiling, repaired a damaged floor and painted the living room, a craft room and dining room ceiling. Had to repaint the steps because they weren't covered well enough (needed to be done but not that big of a deal) and they broke a panel in the glass ceiling. Dan was great about stepping up to pay for it (about $1500) and installed it after if came a few weeks later. His carpenter built us new doors for our book shelves and Dan took several layers of paint off of a reclaimed fireplace surround that we had. He is creative and imaginative but not a very good with time management. Once he got busy during the late spring we had to text and call repeatedly for him to finish the final phases of our work: putting the ceiling fixture and mirror back, and painting the new book shelf doors. During re- installation of the 6 ft. tall mirror, it broke. He promised for 3 months to return with a new one. After 3 months we finally got the hint and had a company return to finish the work. (We hadn't paid the final installment, gratefully) This was very disappointing b/c we had planned to have him do a major kitchen reno for us in the fall. This set us back until this summer. Not giving us the courtesy of telling us that he, for whatever reason wasn't going to finish after what we'd felt was a positive relationship was unprofessional and unacceptable. I hesitate to give a D/F rating because the work that was done was good overall but I'd say a contractor that doesn't finish probably can't be classified as satisfactory.
Description of Work: Refinished damaged floor and stone fireplace, painted 2 rooms, tore out ceiling and replaced, installed a frame for glass floor panel, rebuilt cabinet doors and stripped stone fireplace
