This company was doing cement and plumbing work for my neighbor. And like most contractors, made a mess and were inconsiderate of the neighborhood. That aside, I was planning to call them to do some work for my house until I discovered that the son of the company owner helped himself to my garden hose which is two houses down. He dragged my hose through cement, mud and muck, borrowed it without asking and then had the gall to toss it back without winding it back on the spigot. Disrespectful and rude. When I confronted the son his reply was “it was an emergency.” He left sand and grit on my sidewalk and curb. Folks, I’m not sure if you want to hire a company whose owner helps himself to other people’s belongings.

I have a defective sewer lateral write up from the city. The repair job involves a lot of street digging before the pipe can be replaced. I am so glad to have found Bart Emanuel & Son for the job. Joe and his crew definitely have the experience, tools and equipment to get the job done right, and their cost is very reasonable and affordable. Highly recommended.

We realized Saturday morning we had no hot water. I called Joe and he came out the same day and had it repaired within a half hour . He is friendly, professional and most importantly, effective. They have been my plumber for years. Joseph is always responsive. When I call I get a quick response. He is always professional and the problem is always resolved in one visit. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

The actual work went well?it was a hard job. Try getting this contractor back to fine-tune something after the big check is picked up and installed--forget about it. I called him approximately 10 times and left messages that I could not get the heater to go off. It wasn't until I ran into him on the street that I was able to get him back. He sent his father over several times to deal with the situation. Feigned surprise that I had called; told me that his number had changed (it had not). Last week (one year post installation), I called and left 7 messages on his office phone and 7 messages on his emergency line to request a one-year maintenance service and also to turn the furnace on (I cannot get it to turn on) and all of the messages have been ignored. Ended up purchasing a "big deal" on Angie's list for furnace servicing. Bart Emanual seems to be only interested in the $12,0000 jobs. Good for him.
