Atticus fixed both of the bi-doors in my house brilliantly. He connected the hinges and fixed the slippery worn out lock on my old cellar door. Also he cut the doors superbly to my Mothers bedroom closet because she just had carpet installed and the doors would not close. Atticus was great: he arrived when he said he would, was very generous with his time, answered all of my questions. He suggested several approaches requiring various levels of effort, and was honest about the things he was unsure of. Really a great deal for an hour of his expertise, (including squeezing me in after hours). I will be calling him again for future jobs.

This job went better than I could have hoped for. Atticus is without a doubt the most professional person that we've ever had working in our house. We gave Atticus a key to the house and the code for our alarm, he always ensure the house was locked up tight and our cat was safely in the house whenever he was here. The quality of the paint job is superb, and the results of his work in the family room are virtually perfect. Every molding, every corner, all the ceilings and walls...everything looks great! Let me say that we have a ceiling medallion in our dining room, Atticus took the time to meticulously paint the medallion using a brush technique that really makes that ceiling treatment stand out while not being too dramatic or over the top. Atticus was also extremely clean whenever working, taking time to cover and protect our furnishings, and to ensure their work area was clean and tidy at the end of every day. Let me say that Atticus was always deferential and attentive to our needs. For example, if it appeared that my wife and I needed a private moment Atticus and his helper Tom would quietly move to another part of the house; that I thought was a nice touch, something that we really liked. Atticus was punctual and in the rare occasion that he was running late for a personal reason he always called or texted me to let us know. Finally Atticus was always forthcoming with billing information, to include a summary of the work provided and money paid at the completion. We cannot recommend Atticus highly enough, he performance exceeded our expectations. Hire him for your job, you won't be sorry.

Neither my husband or I are handy people. I installed a dimmer switch in my dining room once and I felt like a hero for a month. We also happen to live in a 100+ year old home. Having lived there for a while now, things start to, well, fall apart and neither of us have any idea how to fix them. We had several small jobs that I didn't imagine would interest most repair people. A friend recommended Atticus. He lives a block away and so I knew he'd be familiar with the quirks of these old houses. I found Atticus to be skilled, punctual, very good at communicating (something that I have found to be quite rare in other handypeople/contractors), and professional. I am very happy with the work he has done and I'm sure it won't be long before I compile another list of odd jobs for him to do. I'm sure his skills far exceed what we've asked of him, but I'm just so pleased to have found someone (a neighbor, in fact) that is so responsive, competent, fair, and professional. Yes... I'll be using his services again.

Atticus has completed two jobs for me. He finished miscellaneous carpentry items in my kitchen when my contractor failed to return to complete the job. He also helped me "finish" my unfinished basement by researching and installing a track system, installing insulation and ceiling covering, building a custom table top, and creating a custom door to cover the crawl space under my kitchen. If you are looking for someone who is willing to think outside the box to come up with a solution to your particular problem, then Atticus is the person to hire. He kept in frequent contact with me about his schedule and made suggestions about my basement project. He came up with very creative solutions to my space needs and wasn't shy about telling me when something just wouldn't work. He cares a lot about all the details and providing a high quality finished product. I plan to hire him again when we have another project.
