+ -1 moreFran came out for an estimate last Monday. He said he'd get me a quote within the next few days. No word from him on thursday and I call him and leave a message. No response and I call him again on Friday. He couldn't remember which job I was but it would be "roughly $2500," and he'd get back to me with the formal estimate. Haven't heard from him since then. Getting the run-around for estimates and quotes has been extremely tiring. If the job is too small or you are too booked to take on the work be up front and don't waste our time.

Description of Work: Angies list sent me four iron works companies. i called the closest to me which was Anvil iron works at 10th and Washington ave. in philly. i explained my problem to the person on the phone and he said someone would call me back. I waited 24 hours and never got a call so i called anvil back. the same person answered the phone and said "tell me again what the problem is? I again explained the problem and he said it would be $350.00 to come out. Thats when i called AAA and got immediate service. thanks again!

+ -1 moreThey're fantastic. I didn't realize that I needed to have railings outside. I called them and asked them if they could do the work for me. I saw them on Angie's List. They're in the neighborhood. They explained everything as we went along. They told me ahead of time that they would not be able to get to me for at least three weeks. They got the work done. We set up a time for them to come out. They were punctual. The job is very appealing. They did a good job. The only thing that I had a questions about was their price. They did a good job.

Description of Work: I had a custom designed iron gate installed. They let me sketch out what I wanted, gave advice and then did a great job of making a custom piece. I love it. They also attached a new mailbox to my stucco for free.

Description of Work: A friend of mine had someone almost come into their front window;she immediately thought about getting bars for her front window,though she was a bit reluctant about how they would look.She called Anvil,they came out shortly thereafter,gave her an estimate,and came back to do the work-they were very diligent and knowledgable,and did a good job;when I came to see the bars,I was very surprized they were white bars,and blended into the white front windows,that already had those white squares in them,so the white bars just blended in nicely-it doesn't look like Fort Knox at all(the house is a S Philly row house).Also,it wasn't overly expensive-it was comparable to competitors,but they did a wonderful job.I hardily recommend them,based on what I saw at my friend,Angela's house.
