Over the years I’ve completed top-down renovations of 3 houses and 2 apartments and had the opportunity to work with many craftsmen and contractors, some of whom have been incredibly skilled and gifted. But I have never ever had an experience as delightful and praiseworthy as I have had working with the team at Angelo’s. Everything from start to finish was sheer perfection! Angelo’s is a family owned and operated business. The love and pride in what they do is evident in every aspect of their work. Their customer service is truly unparalleled. Danny (Angelo’s son) is a dream to work with, and is probably the most knowledgeable, detail-oriented and patient professional I have ever encountered. He was generous with his time and extremely articulate when sharing his expertise with me. His sister Erika seamlessly and efficiently handled the billing and all the exhaustive paperwork and insurance documents required by our condo association with ease, grace and in a very timely manner. This is the first time I have dealt with a stone island countertop with a mitered waterfall edge. I didn't understand all that is involved in designing and fabricating it so that it is aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound and properly supported. There was also the matter of trying to keep the same lines and design sensibility of the existing modern German kitchen which Danny immediately understood and mastered. On top of that I was working entirely remotely from Long Island, NY and every single thing had to be explained in great detail over the phone and backed up with precise hand-drawn diagrams. I even added a backsplash and countertop surrounding the sink to the project at the last minute and it didn’t cause a delay or problem at all. The margin for error, misunderstanding and disappointment was enormous – but the lines of communication were always open and very clear, and we left no stone unturned (lol) in our many conversations. Danny went above and beyond to ensure I understood everything 100% and that I would be absolutely satisfied with the end result, and he devised wonderful alternative options when some structural obstacles got in the way. Angelo’s onsite template measuring and installation team were so friendly and worked so expeditiously and precisely that when the job was complete there wasn’t a sign that they had been there (the kitchen was neat and clean as whistle) other than how superb everything looked. Needless to say I am thrilled that Angelo’s exceeded my expectations, and I just cannot recommend them enough. Run, don’t walk, to Angelo’s, they are the absolute best!

Excellent. Danny (Angelo's son) suggested a color combination that was different from our original idea and we could not be happier! The island is Viscont White and it is absolutely beautiful - marble-like in appearance, and the perimeter counters are Black Via Lactea. The two different colors complement each other incredibly well. The installation went extremely well. The crew was highly professional and careful. We had a minor issue in getting the slide-in range back into position, but Angelo's came back quickly, made a small adjustment and now it's perfect. We are thrilled with our countertops!
Description of Work: Furnish and install new granite countertops, including single piece kitchen island 10 feet long by 3.5 feet wide with prep sink, as well as granite countertops along the wall, at two different elevations (counter height and desk height), with openings for farm sink and range.

I had a tight budget so Angelo himself steered me toward the remnants, which I appreciated. I was pleased to find a piece that would work and Angelo drew up a quote for what I asked for, and we booked the template appointment. There was some miscommunication between my contractor and Angelo's regarding the appointment but they straightened it out right away and sent someone that same day to come out to measure. After a week they told me the remnant wouldn't work and I had to come back in to pick out another piece. That was totally fine. I come in again and this time work with the son, Dan. Turns out they had enough material all along. Frustrating, but also fine. We schedule the installation for a week out, which is pretty fast if you don't count the week I spent waiting to come back in unnecessarily. I was still happy to be getting a relatively inexpensive remnant. They were also very flexible and let me change the depth after the template, which I appreciated. Everything still ok. Day of install, the backsplash is wrong. They terminated it at the stove and I had requested it be continuous and behind the stove. I made this request in my initial talk and drawings with Angelo, with Dan at the second visit and a third time with the template maker. Three requests, drawings submitted, dimensions given by me and three different people heard this request. Even though they had forgotten another piece of the backsplash and would have to return to finish the botched job, they literally would not leave without payment in full. (I don't blame them, that is what they are told to do and they were very, very nice guys.) Fine. I pay to the penny even with the mistake and the unfinished job. When I get Dan on the phone for an explanation I find that he is aggressive with me, will not admit their mistake, will not remedy it and would not apologize. Now I have to buy a $200 stainless backsplash piece to fix their error. In the end, it's just a d*** counter, it's just a kitchen, it's just money, and mistake happen, but Dan's tone and dismissal of my concerns and complaints was even more upsetting than all of that. There was absolutely no apology and no discount whatsoever. Dan's refusal to apologize or fix the error completely ruined what would have been an A+ experience (even with the backsplash error). An apology goes a long way to buying good will. And if you can't apologize, at least cover the costs that your customer has incurred; either of those remedies (and apology or covering my extra costs) would have garnered them an A+ review but instead they created a very unhappy customer.

Overall, we had an excellent experience working with Angelo's Marble and Granite, particularly Erica in the office. The service was arranged through our cabinet supplier (Kitchen World). We just had to go to Angelo's to pick out the slab, which is a good thing, because we ended up selecting something entirely different from what we had originally planned. Erica was very patient in explaining our options and showing us the different slabs. After our cabinets were installed, Angelo's workers came and did a template for the counter-tops, which included a large L-shaped area and an island. It took another couple weeks for the slab to be cut, which worked out fine with my contractor's schedule. On the day of installation, the workers were quick to get the slab in place (they polished it out in our backyard, I believe). They even gave us a small piece of the slab on four small legs (looks like a fancy cutting board) to test hot pots on (before we put them down on the actual counter-tops). And they came back a few days later when my contractor discovered that a small piece needed to be sanded down a bit so the range could fit; the fix was done in an afternoon. All in all, we had a very positive experience working with Angelo's and love our counter-tops.

We recently renovated our kitchen. When looking for cabinets several dealers recommended Angelo’s for countertops. Upon our arrival, Danny spent quite a while with us looking at granite slabs and explaining both the good and bad characteristics of each stone. He even gave us several nice chunks to take home while making our decision. We finally decided on “Peacock” (dark green with flecks of gold). We set up a date to template, the crew was on time. Templating was quicker than I thought it would be. Afterwards it took about 8 days for Danny call and set up an appointment for installation. The installation was terrific. The stone is so heavy any number of things could have happened. I have a tile floor they could have dropped it and cracked one of the tiles or scratched the new cabinets or appliances putting it in but everything was perfect. These workers knew what they were doing and were extremely careful of my home. Over the lazy susan there is a turn in the countertop, I can’t believe they cut it in one piece. I just can’t compliment them enough on the workmanship that went into the cutting, polishing and installation. The countertops look beautiful, they are truly the crowning touch to my kitchen. I would recommend them to anyone.

We found a slab of granite that we really liked. They were very helpful and they apparently had sold the one we really liked. They worked hard to find us another one very similar to what we liked. Their installers knew what they were doing. They did the job pretty much perfectly and everything fits. It was a small shop and we dealt directly with the owner who was also very helpful and accommodating.

Everyone involved was professional, courteous and helpful. Danny is a great guy who took time to explain everything and made valuable suggestions regarding selecting the right stone to go with our tile and cabinets. The guys who came to do the template asked detailed questions to make sure I got exactly what I expected. The stone cutting is flawless, and a perfect fit. Had some tight tolerances and Danny initially thought we'd need a seam in one counter in order to fit it in place, but they managed to squeze the entire counter into place for a perfect fit wiht no seam. The installers are amazing, what a tough job carrying two thick granite counters up to my 2nd floor kitchen. They had to do a quick grind at one corner to fit the cut our around the trim, and then it fell right into place perfectly. One minor complaint and reason for the B in professionalism is that the installers could have done a better job cleaning up, left some debris and dust behind on the kitchen floor and some scuff marks on appliances. But after the back breaking work they did, I wouldn't hold that against them. Overall a strong A rating all around and an A++ for price as they were about 30% cheaper than 2 other places I checked out for the same type of granite.
Description of Work: Danny helped us select the right slab to match our kitchen tile and cabinets. Explained the different edge treatments and options available, held the slab for more than a month while we waited for cabinets to arrive (with no deposit required), and promptly set up templating, cutting and installation when our cabinets were in place.

Teams to do the install and template work efficient and fast however were not on time and hard to reach while waiting for multiple hours. Quality of the install and templating was very good. The one job that required more detail was somewhat difficult to go back and forth with but in the end worked out perfect and they respond to all requests and concerns. I would use them again and recommend them. The price was better than many other Philly shops and you cut out the middleman.
Description of Work: Install of two granite counter tops. Team came first to make wooden template and then approximately three weeks later to do the install. One job required more attention as holes had to be drilled in the count to put in poles.

They were supposed to arrive at 9:30. We asked if that would be enough time for us to leave at 5:00 as we had dinner plans and opera tickets. They did not arrive until 12:30 and left at about 6:30 which ruined plans for Friday evening. They disconnected our sink and dishwasher but then refused to reconnect it, saying it was our responsibility. We showed them the paper with instructions which did NOT say that it was our responsibility to reconnect. As of today, Sunday, I have not been able to get a plumber and have had to cancel dinner invitations for tonight as we have no water. They did a very sloppy job of installation. I had assumed they would do the complete job including grouting, but they said they could not as they did not have gray grout. Around the window sills, they did a very sloppy job with some white grouting. Also there was lot of damage to woodwork. I will need to find someone to fill in the nicks and paint the area and to repair grouting.

Response from ANGELO'S MARBLE & GRANITE
I remember this job quite well. My installer who also did the template suggested to the member To extend the countertops into 3 different window frames, because the height of the cabinets were 2" higher than the frame of the window. The customer had white carrara sills ( cracked). I agree that it was neccessary for the granite to extend into the frame of the window because otherwise it would have not looked finished. The kitchen was a massive L- shape and surrounded 3 windows. THE CUSTOMERS COMPLAINT WAS THAT THERE WAS AN 1/8" GAP IN BETWEEN THE WINDOW FRAME ON BOTH SIDES. This was a historical property in Mt. Airy. The historical society only allows you to put replacement windows in and thus not only was frame original, but it was out of square over 1/2". I believe it is common sense for someone to understand tolerances are needed in order ensure a proper installation. If you force the granite in it will break or damage. It took us 2 hours to remove tile countertop and did not expect to take us that long. We did apologize, but I stand by my work.

They were excellent. On a day they ran late, they called us every half hour to give us a status on their whereabouts. Danny was great to work with and the installers were very nice to work with. We got quotes from a total of 3 places for the same stone and they came in about a thousand less then some places on Wash Ave.
