Alligood Energy

The work was done within days and our place was neat as a pin when they left. We have noticed a big difference in our home's temperature as a result of their great work.

It went well. A big problem was not being allowed in the house for 4 hours while the fumes dissipated. I was fortunate that it wasn't a real cold day so I took me dog for an extended walk.

About two months ago, Matt Alligood came out for an energy audit. We were not new to the potential as we had our previous house done. It was an easy sell since I knew the insulation did not make it over the rafters. There was absolutely no pressure to move forward. Matt's is very easy going. We communicated back and forth for two months as I had to reschedule twice as I needed some electrical work done and had a tough go finding someone who was able to get the job done. The whole time Matt remained easy going. When I suggested chances, he was easy going. I think Matt over delivered. And was patient. His crew did one of the best clean ip jobs as I didnt notice a thing. Matt and his team were easy to work with. I would recommend them. Our top floor is no longer miserably out of temperature with our first floor.

Went well, was quicker than expected. Technician explained results. Overall, attempt to sell additional services. Some of the work quoted was easy for homeowner to do, so you can choose what you want done. Only thing lacking - and that would have helped their own cause - was providing anticipated cost saves with the updates.

Everything went well. This contractor is a pleasure to deal with.

Matt came out and performed an assessment. He promptly provided a professional, thorough proposal and estimate. He provided three potential solutions and suggested that we start wth the least expensive, which was to 'air seal' the exterior of the house where the coldest room sits. We scheduled a date for the work. He showed up on time and completed the work in a very professional manner. He took the time to show me what he was doing as he worked. The main room with the temperature issue is now significantly warmer.

They identified four areas where we could reduce our carbon footprint.

Very smooth process. These guys were incredibly easy to work with and were very flexible. They did an outstanding job and left the house in great shape.

Spent a lot of time, really investigated carefully, and gave good recommendations without pressure. Courteous and respectful.

We are very pleased with them. Very courteous, very helpful. We hope this works, but we won't know until it gets below twenty. They seemed knowledgeable, and very courteous, and helpful, and all that stuff. I guess its ok. The job needed done. They found the problem out, and fixed it. We won't know its good, or if it will work, until we get some cold temperatures, and that won't happen in the near future. They were really good, the only problem we had with them is getting them to get back to me, the support. It was because they were really busy. I believe, not that they didn't want to do the job, but as a customer I had to call them twice, to get them. They were fine. Also, they charged me fifteen hundred, but they are giving me an year to see, and go through winter, to get below twenty degrees, and to see if it worked or not. If it didn't work, they are going to give us back $750.00.

AMAZING! Couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with. Matt came out performed the audit and explained everything throughout the process. He sent over a detailed report with pictures of my house and pictures of how it should be fixed, included was a quote to do the air sealing of the house and properly insulating the attic the basement and our crawl space. The price quoted was more than fair and we decided to use their services. The day of the project, the entire crew was early and ready to go. They covered everything with plastic and went straight to work, first airs ealing everything followed by spray foaming where needed and then blowing in the insulation. Our home feels great now. When the Temps dropped into the 30s that evening we instantly noticed the difference. The furnace was also screaming thank you as it was rarely cycling vs cycling all the time. A big thanks to Jeff Matt and the crew for making our home a lot more comfortable.

Matt was on time, did the energy audit and gave me suggestions where I could do it myself and later sent me a comprehensive report with options.

The professional examined spots that I identified as problems and the house in general. He was helpful with explaining the assessment and options for service. I was given three quotes for different services that could be completed. I was disappointed to learn later that there was a "minimum fee" to come out to perform the work, which was higher than the option that I was leaning toward. I ultimately decided not to have the service completed.

Jeff explained everything very well. He knows his stuff! We'll probably end up going with him for the repairs.

He came in on time and was cordial. He was very nice and answered our questions.

The evaluation and the subsequent insulation work went fine. Guy clearly knew their stuff and did a good job. Punctuality was an issue. First date for Eval was missed entirely, the late for second appointment. On day of insulation work they were late and could only do half the job since their spray foam unit wasn't working. Came back next day to finish.

They were prompt arriving. They explained the different steps of the processes in layman's term. The work went as planned. They cleaned up all debris in paths leading to attic entrance. Everything was done to make me feel like a valued customer

Excellent. Extremely professional and thorough. The audit was comprehensive and was followed up with a timely, well wrtten report. Paul performed the audit and answered all our questions regarding our home's comfort issues. We felt so confident in Paul's recommendations, that we hired a contractor immediately to implement his solutions in priority order - - addressing the most impactful improvements first. We were given the facts, the science behind the facts, and no hint of sales. Well worth the money spent. I'm glad I read the prior reviews on Angie's List and Insisted on Paul doing the audit.

They did a good job but I haven't received any report from them. The price was excellent. The responsiveness was okay.

We had a slight schedule conflict in the beginning, but the provider came out right away after a short call. He provided a ton of useful information about what I can do to better improve my home's energy efficiency. He was able to answer all of my questions and explained why there was a slight loss in energy. He put a vacuum seal on the front door to create negative pressure in the house which caused any drafts to be more distinguishable throughout the home. He checked every window frame and crevice he could find and explained how and why the home was losing a little energy. The energy audit was supposed to also have a thermal reading but evidently the provider did not have the equipment on hand. This was a little concerning, but he also mentioned that with the temperature outside compared to inside, there was little the thermo reading would have done. We discussed some ventilation issues I was having and he recommended about 10 contractors to help me fix the issue.

From the first step into our home, we knew we made the right choice with Alligood Energy. Jeff Alligood was extremely professional, knowledgable and polite. He performed an energy audit and came to the conclusion that heat was escaping the home at double the rate that it should be. He specified that we should we really tackle the attic in which we did. Everything was performed thoroughly and we walked through everything to ensure that we were satisfied. Thank you Alligood Energy!!!

Alligood did a great job with the project; they were punctual, professional and thorough. We had a couple follow up items after the initial insulation job and they came to address those as well. Jeff and Matt were great to work with and they were very flexible on the approach to insulating our attic and basement crawl space...including some added areas above our drop ceiling in the finished basement. For the first time since we've lived in our house (7 years), we no longer need a space heater in the basement to maintain a warm temperature during the winter (and temps have been in the teens in recent days). Additionally, we've always had to play games with our thermostat (located on the main floor) to have the upstairs bedrooms be the right temperature at night. Since the insulation, our house is balanced with temperature across the floors for the first time!

The day of the work, we needed to leave the house due to the fumes of the spray foam. So, in the morning, me, my wife, my daughter, and our dog piled into our car and spent the day at my parent's house. We left our home in good spirits, that morning, but when we returned to the house that night, our hearts sank at the state in which Alligood left our home. The trouble started when we pulled into the driveway of the house, the gate to our backyard was left open with several pieces of rockwool insulation in the yard. Additionally in the backyard, the lattice that covers the area under the mudroom was left pulled away from the house, if we didn't notice this, our small dog could have escaped from the yard when we left him out the back door that evening. We entered the house, and things appeared normal. Windows were left open to air out the house, which was expected. There was no noticeable smell in the house, which was great news, so aside from the infractions outside, we were excited to see the work that was done. The first area we inspected was the basement. Coming down the stairs, we immediately knew something was wrong. As soon as we came down the stairs we were met with splattered, sloppy, and incomplete work. We knew that the spray foam, would expand, and is difficult to keep neat, but there appeared to be no effort taken for care, cleanliness, or professionalism. No drop cloths were used in the basement resulting in white foam splatter over anything within a 2 foot radius of the walls. Tools, storage, and appliances including a brand new washer/dryer and chest freezer, now have a film of foam covering them. Additionally, there was no effort to clean up after the work was done, leaving dirt and debris all over the floor. As if that weren't bad enough, it appears that no ladder was used so there are many areas that were missed due to lack of due diligence. Finally, there was very little attempt to avoid spraying over pipes or wires, resulting in what I estimate will mean long term issues if these wires or pipes need to be serviced. The other two areas that were sprayed were done with the same lack of care as the basement. Again, no drop cloths were used, resulting in a thick layer of foam across the floor, which is now ruined. We emailed Alligood and expressed our dissatisfaction with the work they had done, and the damage and disrepect to our home. They responded promptly, apologized, offered $500 off the final price, and offered to come out and cleanup/fix the areas that were missed. We were still so staggered and disappointment by the whole situation, we didn't trust Alligood in our home anymore, so we declined their offer for the cleanup, but accepted the $500 discount. We chose Alligood based on their good reviews on Angie's List. We were really dissapointed and regret our decision. We would not recommend others to make the same mistake.
