Description of Work: replaced the timer on an old washer/dryer stack. The part is no longer being made, so they gave me the part number and told me to go to eBay where I could find the part. The part cost around $125, so all together this cost around $240 for parts and labor.

The original estimate took into account higher priced replacement parts but once they had the appliances open those parts did not need to be replaced so the overall cost was much lower than expected. They were punctual and professional. I will definitely use them for future appliance repairs.

Description of Work: Our dishwasher was not doing the job effectivly. The technician came on time, was courteous, and the dishwasher has worked fine since.

Description of Work: AJ came to fix a Bosch dishwasher -- the power button had come loose. The technician needed to replace a larger portion of the dishwasher door because of the power button configuration, and a part needed to be ordered. When the part arrived, he came back to finish the repair. Each time, AJ arrived on time and was very careful.

Description of Work: The oven did not work. They came on the date arranged, on time, determined it was the element. It had to be ordered. They called the next day with the price. I approved the job. They called 3 days later with the part & arranged a time to install. They came on time. Installation took 15 min. The amount charged from the initial visit to come see the oven was a credit to the final bill. They were courteous & nice and kept me informed at all times. Would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: My oven sounded like a mini explosion when turned on. I called AJ appliance based on reviews read on angie's list. they offered saturday appointments for resident's of south philly where I live and they're located. I was told they offered a 3 hour window for the appointment. I was to receive a call between 8:30 am and 9:30 am with the time. On that Saturday I received the call and was told a technician would arrive between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. At approximately, 11:45 the technician called said he was running late and was on his way. The technician arrived before 12. Upon arrival the tech proceeded to fix the oven. Id the problem as a worn igniter. He showed me the worn part and replaced it. He was finished with the call before 12:30. I mentioned I was looking to replace the stove. I was told now that the igniter was replaced I could continue to use the stove for a few more years and AJ appliance sold products as well. Also, he stated AJ appliance would match box store pricing.

Description of Work: My trash compactor was stuck in the down position, and full of trash. They came out the day after I called, assessed the problem, freed the trash, and ordered a new part. When the part came in a few days later, they returned and repaired the compactor. They were very professional, pleasant, and efficient. Great experience.

Description of Work: Came out as scheduled. Analyzed the problem, and called me back straightaway with price for parts. Decided not to replace the part, but only praise for the company, which has been provided service to me for 15 years, here in Center City.
