Description of Work: Our washer that didn't drain after my washing a rug; the rubber backing had disintegrated and caused a clog (I thought). When we called A.J. Appliance, the response was fast (next day) and professional. After filling and draining the washer, the repair person could see that the problem wasn't the machine but the external drain (which overflowed when the wash-water ran into it); he said we needed a plumber. Since he'd come out, I asked if he could just double-check that the washer's drain pump wasn't clogged. He tipped back the machine, got down on the (not-so-clean) basement floor, and confirmed that everything looked good. Of course we had a service call charge to pay, but that is to be expected.

Description of Work: Replaced oven heating element. Took a while to get replacement part but my Jenn-Aire is about eight years old so it was not unexpected.Once it came in the repiarman was out in about two days. I have used AJ in the past and have always been very satisfied.

 + -1 moreTHEY WERE VERY PLEASANT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH. HAD CHECKED ANOTHER APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANY, BUT THEY COULDN'T COME OUT FOR AT LEAST A WEEK AND THE CHARGE WAS $65. AJ'S CAME OUT IN A FEW DAYS AND IT WAS LESS FOR THEM TO REPAIR IT THAN THE OTHER COMPANY WAS JUST TO COME OUT! WE WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: OUR FREEZER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY AND IT HAD TONS OF FROST BUILDING UP. WHEN THE COMPANY CAME OUT, THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH DOOR HINGE WHICH THEY REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY.

AFTER THE FIRST VISIT, SOMEONE CALLED ME WITHIN THE TIME INDICATED FOR AN ESTIMATE FOR HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AJ PROMPTLY CALLED ME WHEN THE PARTS CAME IN AND SCHEDULED SERVICE. THE ONLY THING THAT I WISH WERE BETTER IS THAT THEY DO NOT SCHEDULE YOU INTO A TIME SLOT UNTIL THE MORNING OF YOUR ASSIGNED SERVICE DAY. THIS CAN MAKE THINGS DIFFICULT TO PLAN. THE TWO SERVICE TECHNICIANS THAT CAME OUT WERE RESPECTFUL AND WERE WILLING TO EXPLAIN THINGS TO ME.
Description of Work: ISSUE: THE FRONT 2 BURNERS ON THE GAS RANGE DID NOT LIGHT OR IF THEY DID LIGHT, I COULD SMELL GAS. RESOLUTION: GAS LINES FOR FRONT 2 BURNERS REPLACED.

Description of Work: AJ APPLIANCE REPAIRED THE STAR FUNCTION ON MY THERMADOR GAS COOKTOP. THIS IS A FEATURE THAT GOES ON AND OFF TO KEEP SAUCES/ SOUP/ WHATEVER... WARM WITHOUT BURNING. IT IS AN EXPENSIVE FEATURE AND NOT MANY COMPANY'S HAVE THE TRAINING. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND THEY CAME BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THE REPAIR MAN WAS POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THOROUGH. WHEN I INITIALLY CALLED( ANGIE'S LIST ) THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND FRIENDLY. THEY CHARGED $75.00 SERVICE FEE TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND APPLIED THAT FEE TO WHATEVER THE REPAIR WAS GOING TO COST. HE ALSO BROUGHT A COVER FOR THE WIRES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT ON WHEN INITIALLY INSTALLED. HE SAID THAT THE WAY THEY LEFT IT, COULD HAVE BEEN A FIRE HAZARD. HE DID THIS FOR NO CHARGE.
