Overall I'm very happy with the service I got and will definitely call them next time I have problems with an appliance.. I called them Monday morning once I knew I had a gas leak and asked for the earliest appointment I could get. They told me Wednesday morning around 8:30 am. On Tuesday night they called to confirm my Wednesday 10-12 appointment. The guy showed up about 10:30, and called me 15 minutes ahead as I had requested. He was very nice, clean, polite, professional. Got right to work and talked me through what he was finding/fixing as he did it. As a new homeowner I really appreciate this. He found that the fittings to the regulator were loose, fixed that, and then found the control dial was bent internally. When you turned the stove to OFF, it was actually leaking gas, unless you turned it a half-inch passed OFF. He was able to fix that too right on the spot. He even came upstairs to my other apartment to look at another stove I was having an issue with. These guys charge $60 to come to your place and diagnose the problem, but then that goes towards any work you have them do.

They were very punctual and friendly and performed the work swiftly and well. I do not remeber exactly how much money I spent but I was impressed at the low cost.

A J was very responsive, and after one mistake, they fixed my washing machine. They came out one day to diagnose the washer and several days afterwards to fix it with a spare part. Unfortunately when they brought and installed the spare part the washing machine was not fixed, and this wasn't realized until I ran the washing machine again and discovered that it was still broken. This said, after I called again and pointed out the machine was still broken, they were very responsive, and they promptly fixed the machine after that. I would hire them again, and I am grateful that they followed through on the repair.

Carmen, the serviceman, was on time and took care of the problem in a clean and timely fashion, with a reasonable cost. Also, they were able to service our call quickly, without days of waiting.

AJ sent a rep the next day and the issue was fixed w/in 45 mins. Turned out a sock fell in-between the spinning tub and an inner wall. The sock was stuck in some U shape PVC pipe. That pipe was replaced along with a belt. The repair was excellent and no problems since.

A+ in all categories. Responsive, fast, professional, fair, communicative, overall excellent.

They are the best. They arrived at the time they said, very professional, even vacuumed out my dryer vents for me. I recommend them to everyone. And the price was very good.

I had called at least 8 other places who could not come out until Monday or didn't want to work with the LG brand of fridge (even LG customer service was no help!). My food was going to go bad and the gentleman I spoke to from AJ Appliances could hear my distress and did everything he could to get me a serviceman at my house. He called a technician who he knew passed my area on his way home and he was at my house within a couple hours. The technician, Joe, on a Friday evening after 6pm, took the time to show me what went wrong, what he did to fix it and provided follow up action as well. Needless to say, his exceptional service was greatly appreciated.

Wonderful service! Heater stopped working on a Friday afternoon as I was about to leave town for the weekend. Called PGW first because have a service contract with them. Their phone system was down, so couldn't get through. Called A J Appliance late on Friday after they'd closed and left them a vcmail. They called me back at 9:30am the next morning and repair men were at my house by 2pm that afternoon. They got the heater going again with a short term fix and told me what was wrong. Said they'd call me that week with an estimate for part I needed and labor to install it. Called me on Wednesday with info. I'd definitely use these guys again. Very responsive, courteous, and professional.

I?ll let the timeline speak for itself. 12/28 ? called to schedule an appointment. Booked for 12/31. Told they will call morning of with time (three hour window). 12/31 ? no call/no show. 1/5 ? called to schedule another appointment. Booked for 1/7. 1/7 ? I had a problem come up at work. Called their office at 830am and left message that I needed to reschedule. 11am ? roommate calls to say appliance guy is at the house. Noon ? I call AJ appliance to see if they found the problem. Person answering phone tells me there?s no record of my visit. Says they cancelled the service call based on my earlier message. Agree with him that I called to cancel, but assure him the tech showed up nonetheless. Was told he would research the tech?s findings and get back to me. 1/8 ? Called to see if any updates. Matter was in with Parts Department for research. 1/12 ? Called again for update. Seems the model number the tech wrote down was invalid. They asked if I could recheck the number and call them back. 1/13 ? Called and asked for same person I spoke to prior day. (Angelo) He was with a customer and would call me back in a few minutes. 1/14 ? No return call received. Called another repair service to schedule a visit. UPDATE -- After I filed this report, I received a call from the owner apologizing for the poor service I received and informing me that he has taken steps to correct some issues he was having at the office which were resulting in poor customer service. I believe my initial report was fair and accurate, but I do think AJ Appliance should be commended for paying attention to customer feedback and taking corrective action. He seemed very sincere. I might even consider using them again.

Found the problem - repaired a wire

My Kenmore dishwasher was not getting my dishes clean and I was finding that I had to wash everything again by hand. Also the fan switch on my 18 year old JennAir cooktop had malfunctioned and, although I had ordered the part, I didn't know how to install it. I called AJ Appliance and they were very responsive. Joe came out on time as scheduled, quickly diagnosed the problem with the dishwasher as a clogged filter and repaired it and also installed the new rocker switch on the JennAir cooktop. We also spoke about my need to replace a gas wall oven and he was very helpful in giving me hints about installation. The entire repair process took less than an hour. I will definitely use them again.

Came out a few weeks after initial service. Problem seemed unrelated to what was wrong before, but they still fixed it with no additional charge, and came out within an hour or so of our calling. Now that's service!

Prompt, courteous, and professional. I'd definitely patronize them again. Note, BTW, that a "B" is a very good grade. I don't give A's out willy nilly.

The refrigerator was located in my tenants apartment. I did not want to wait around during a 3 hour service window, so they agreed to call 20 minutes before arriving at the apartment. They had the needed parts, and I paid the same price for the same repair that was needed 4 years ago. Additionally, they took Discovery Card for payment. This is the card I use for all apartment expenses to make tax time a little easier. I would have prefered a same day service, since I called on a Friday, and the fridge could not be fixed until Monday.

Great experience. I love dealing with a company that doesn't give me hassles. I called, they came out within a couple of days to check the problem. Called me next day with price and part availability. Since I had an upcoming weekday already scheduled off they worked with me to come out on that day.

I took a couple of days to finish but it was because I called for the gas leak first and when the technician came to fix it I mentioned I needed also a chimney clean out installed.

I sent the company an e-mail first, but did not hear back. So then I called, spoke to Angelo and set up appointment. Joe called ahead, showed up on time, was very courteous and professional, and explained everything to me. I hope I don't need their service again ... but if I do, I will definitely call them.

They came and inspected my broken washing machine. Came soon and on time. Said I'd need a hard to find part. Only problem was having to call them a lot to see what the status was on things, but sure enough they eventually got the part and came back and installed it and now it is working great.

I called A&J to repair our broken washer after Sears could not fit us in for a week, even though we were leaving on a 10 day vacation, and it would have meant water sitting in the washer the whole time we were gone. A&J fit us in promptly, and repaired the washer. The replacement part/installation was $120, which I thought a bit pricey, but I have no context to know if it ought have been cheaper.

company returned my email, scheduled appointment, was not able to make the time but then did come the same day and was communicative. tech was extremely knowledgeable and professional. did work quickly, diagnosed one problem, reported on some other flaws, unable to find one electric thermostat problem. excellent price - $100 compared to other estimates of $400-$600.

Except that I did not get the promised callback the morning the service was due, I was overall pleased with their work. They need to keep their promises and call customers back with the scheduling so people can adjust their work schedule to them. I understand the need for a window on the service but 4 hours is excessive.

Jerald came and he was very personable and we had good conversation. I explained the situation and he went right down to take care of things right away. It is sixty dollars for the call, and he only added four dollars and twenty cents for the actual repair work.

It had a good beginning, a lousy middle and a good ending. AJ was able to come out within a day or so of my first call and they diagosed the problem correctly. AJ had come highly recommended by Angie's List, my neighborhood blog and ABC appliances where I bought the machine. Unfortunately no one had mentioned that they could not do warranty work on Maytags. But that issue was resolved and Maytag sent me the motor without charge. I arranged for AJ to come back after I received the motor. The morning we were scheduled I called to confirm, I had a 1-4 timeslot and I called again at 3:30. No problem the guy was coming but a little late, at 5 of 5 I got a call he was not coming. Very disappointing since I had taken off to be home. I rescheduled for later that week, they called to apologize, were on time and the machine is working.

My mother's older model refrigerator was not holding temperature in the freezer and refrigerator portions of the unit. We needed to get the problem assessed and corrected quickly before the food would spoil. I contacted AJ Appliance and they were able to schedule an appointment for the next day. I received a call in the morning confirming the appointment and the repair technician arrived within the scheduled window as promised and went right to work. After examining the unit front the front and the back he initially thought that the compressor had gone bad but upon a second look within the freezer box he noticed an unusual buildup of frost that indicated that the defrosting cycle was not occuring and the root of the problem was really a broken timer mechanism. Needless to say this was a relief to us since a bad compressor would have meant buying a new refrigerator. The repair techician had the replacement part in his truck and was able to quickly install it. His experience and courteous and professional manner were appreciated along with the 10% senior discount. Considering today's economy and my mother living on a fixed income this repair visit was an exceptional value.
