The adjusted showed up on time and appeared professional during his visit with the insurance company. Unfortunately, communication between him (the company) and myself was non-existent. I needed to call the company searching for the public adjuster (Kevin Doughterty) several times with no luck. Several messages left for him went unanswered. I finally got in touch with Kevin by accident while asking for the status of my claim and he was unable to provide me with anything concrete. I received more communication with my insurance company than with Ace. After receiving an email from my insurance company that a check was mailed, I contacted Ace who told me that the check had not arrived. After waiting 4 weeks for the check, I contacted the insurance company who informed me that the check was cashed 3 weeks prior. I still needed to argue with Ace to receive payment which they said would take 1-2 weeks. We decided to pick the check up ourselves and found that they had charged us an additional $100 for an appraiser that was never agreed upon. When we questioned this charge, they attempted to put an agreement into our file. We disagreed and they took it out stating that the owner will contact us to possibly reverse the charge. No call has been received after 3 weeks. A fax sent to the company describing our dissatisfaction went unanswered. A phone call to the company was also not answered. I would definitely not recommend Ace Public Adjuster in the future.
Description of Work: Acted as an intermediatary between me and the insurance company.

The initial meeting involved my being told to stay upstairs during the "consultation" and "thorough review of the damages" with the insurance adjuster. However, they didn't know that I heard the entire conversation and none of it had anything to do with the loss and damages I incurred as a result of the flood. It was simply two ole pals chatting. Later, I received a form to sign indicating there was a settlement but they did not include the breakdown of the items. (My thought is many customers just want the money and don't care. My basement is the main living area, especially for the kids. They are displaced without the use of my basement. So this was not my case. I simple wanted my basement restored.) In my opinion, their focus is on the check and not on the consumer. It's unfortunate that they did not deliver what they promised. Early in March, I was informed that someone would call me about the items I lost in the flood, to date I have not receive any such call for that information. I wish I would have done further research. It is the end of April and not only is this matter not close to being resolved, it has been more time consuming and stressful. I've gotten the run around for weeks and was even lied to about the status of the claim. After a period of time, I called the office and the staff talked to me as if I was a neighborhood kid. I'm sure it's from the frustration of other clients complaining. They talked over me and at me. The office manager dismissed my concerns with the toned that there was nothing I could do and I was bothering her. Beware of this company. As we approach another month, I'm kept in limbo and informed by and insurance agency that if I would not have hired them, the matter would have been settled weeks ago.
Description of Work: Ace Public Adjusters was hired to save me the aggravation and time in dealing with my flooded basement. They came in and it was a relief when the gentlemen assured me that they would do all the work and would handle this matter quickly and efficiently. All I wanted to hear, so I signed the contract allotting them 20% of my damages which may run close to $1500.
