Academy Air HVAC

Left contact info on Academy Air web site via Carrier "find a dealer" link. No response in 48 hours, called. Receptionist said she would give estimator the message. Estimator called, made appointment. Called to reschedule. Could not do so immediately because, he claimed, he works for two or more companies, not just Academy Air. Made appointment to make call to reschedule! Blew that appointment. Called five days later to make another rescheduling appointment. Blew that too. A thoroughly unprofessional no-show with a self-admitted conflict of interest.

It was pretty good, except they spent a lot of time trying to sell you things that you didn't need.

Salesman and tech came out on time specified and peeked in house for less than 1 minute. Tech made recommendation on the spot for top of the line system at top of the line price. I expressed some reluctance as to the cost and he promptly stated that I didnt need that high end unit and recommended one cheaper but just as good and said that i would be happy because thats what he has in his house. They were more interesting in telling me what i wanted to hear rather than measuring and recommending the correct sized unit with the features i needed.

They pushed us to buy their super expensive furnace. The claimed they can't complete the work if we don't buy their furnace or if we buy furnace from other source they would charge extra money. They brought any hurdle they could so they can either let us pay lots more or they walk away from the work which is cover by the home warranty we bought before. Very bad experience working with them. We finally decide to let them go away. DO NOT want to deal with them anymore.

My air conditioning unit wasn't working. I called first thing in the morning. It was almost evening before they got back to me to schedule an appointment. They didn't have anyone available to even come out and look at the problem until a week later. And they were extremely rude on the phone. I ended up calling another company and had a wonderful experience.

We initially had an issue between the estimate and the gentleman who wrote up the contract and the installers, but as soon as we brought that to their attention they came right out and fixed the problems for us. They were very good about coming right out and fixing the problem. I liked that they owned up to their mistake. I thought that was great. I did wish that we could've avoided any problems all together, but in the end I have been very pleased with how they addressed the problems. I would use them again if I needed too.

The guy was very thorough. The team was excellent. We used them about three weeks ago. They worked very late in the night. They did two or tree visits to complete the work. Their price was reasonable.

HORRIBLY. They were supposed to call me to schedule. They didn't. I had to call them and got the first "I was just about to call you." Then, they scheduled a call right away but didn't show up an hour after their proposed window. So, I called and got the second "I was just about to call you." They came out a few hours LATER. Then, they needed to come back, of course! And, the next TWO times they came back (because they NEVER had the right parts) they were NEVER on time. They always kept us waiting HOURS (not minutes). It was horrible service. The woman who answers the phone is BAD at customer service and just not bright. I am patient but this was ridiculous. I told the home warranty company that I never wanted them in my home again. The best part? One of the radiators STILL doesn't work. Fantastic, huh?
