Overall, they were good. They were able to accommodate us on short notice, which I did like. They didn't arrive at the time they said, a little late , but not too bad. A couple of items were broken and they gave my mother about $30 off her move stating that was the best they could do. I understand that things can get broken in a move, but you never want it to happen to you. I would recommend and use them again.

The movers were polite, friendly and courteous, and they remained that way for the entire 12 hour move! They were very careful with the furniture, and did not damage anything. Their price was reasonable, and I would highly recommend them.

It was an extremely hot day and the entire crew was exceedingly courteous, efficient, and pleasant despite the heat. Mr. Atkinson, who was recommended by my neighbor, also personally came and put me at ease as he told me things I could do before the move to save money. He was extremely honest, had a very friendly and professional demeanor, and his price was also excellent. The move went smoothly and peacefully and I could not have been happier with the service. He was worth every penny and more.

After getting several estimates for my move from Philly to Delaware, I received an advertisement from Atkinson Moving in the mail. The advertisement read " Best of Philly Magazine". My wife and I called the company and Tom came to my house on time as promised on the phone conversation. I received a detailed quote in writing and explained everything in detailed what the move involved. This company was a local mover and had no middle person dealing with commissions. The quote was over $1000.00 less than quotes we received from other companies. We gave our move to Tom and we couldn't have been happier with the professionalism we encountered in our move. Tom, his 2 sons Kyle and Shawn and another worker Charles were the most pleasant and caring people we could have hired. My wife and I couldn't believe how courteous these guys were and caring for the contents of our home being moved to another state. They helped us coordinate the positioning of our contents by moving it around from one area to another in our new home. I guess the bottom line is that in the entire move there wasn't a scratch to any of our furniture or contents. They assembled everything that I wouldn't have clue such as our grandfather clock and a sleep number bed that they knew exactly what to do. We would strongly recommend Atkinson Moving to anyone who is considering a move and have no fears whatsoever in hiring this company. I know my wife and I were well pleased and would tell anyone from Angie's List that this company excels in quality and service. Thanks Tom for a job well done.

Atkinson Moving did a wonderful job. Everyone was very kind, helpful and professional. The antiques were treated with care and everything arrived without a scratch. The men were very patient while we decided how to set up the new apartment, and willingly moved things around as we figured out the layout. Would highly recommend them for any move.

They came with 2 trucks to move us out of a house that we had lived in for 20 years. I'm sure they were being nice when they complimented me on my packing skills, there were boxes stacked to the ceiling. But they certainly made me feel good on a stressful day. They were sweet to my daughters, who were a bit sad and stressed to be moving. At the new place, they moved things, that were supposed to be out, without a grumble. They complimented us on the new house and neighborhood. They even arranged patio furniture in a spot that I thought was perfect and have not moved it, it is staying there. There was some overtime involved aside from the original quote but we expected and understood that. They did not leave my house till close to 8 PM. We still feel that the final cost was more than fair and reasonable. In fact, we feel as though we did not tip them well enough. Each man deserved it.

Tom responded promptly to calls and arranged a convenient time to meet for an estimate. We were able to schedule the move fairly quickly too. On moving day, the truck and workers arrived about 20 minutes early and worked quickly and efficiently. We had a relatively small moving job but there was some large, heavy furniture on the second floor of our old Philadelphia row home and the stairway clearance was tight. The workers took very good care and everything arrived at our new home in great shape. They made quick work of disassembling and reassembling a large bed and even the houseplants arrived safely. The workers were all courteous and respectful of myself and my partner, as well as our belongings.

Mr. Atkinson was totally responsive when we first called. We contracted with him 3 weeks before the actual move and he was responsive and helpful all during the time leading up to the actual moving date. We were absolutely impressed with his communication skills and his responsiveness. He is a very nice man, he is honest, reliable, professional. REPEAT: HE IS HONEST, RELIABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. I can't emphasis that enough. They packed on Monday and unfortunately I wasn't there, my husband was (I had already gone down to our new home). Men should not be allowed to pack home goods unsupervised by a woman. I had not disposed of some things before I left because my husband was still living in the house. I also assumed (wrongly) that some common sense would be used about what could have/should have been thrown out and NOT packed. That was my husband's responsibility and he shirked it. Who in their right mind packs an open can of Comet cleaner? Downside: Some of the packing was just awful. Things were thrown in a box higgedly-piggedly. No rhyme or reason for what was put in any particular box except for a lot of the kitchen items, which were packed properly. A Bose radio was not wrapped and just tossed on top of a box with odds and ends. I did the unpacking and I was not pleased with a lot of it. Some things were packed beautifully and some were packed poorly. UP-SIDE: NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. Despite some of the sloppy packing everything was in perfect condition when I unpacked the boxes. REPEAT: NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED. When they unloaded, after a 3 1/2 hour drive, they were extremely helpful and just as nice as could be. They cheerfully did everything I asked, which included putting some stuff in a storage room instead of in the apartment - Really, really nice and helpful. When all was said and done we could not have asked for better movers. They were terrific! Despite some of the sloppy packing I will still give them an "A" rating.
