Francis X White Builders Inc

We have used Francis X. White builders for six projects at our house in the last several years. I cannot say enough good things about the care that Fran and his guys take while working at our house. They clean up the work area every day so you can use the space near the work area. The craftsmanship and materials they use are always top notch. I would highly recommend them to perform work at any of my friends and family.

Very professional and workmanship is vere refined with utmost attention to detail. Fran and his son Dennis were very accessible and very easy to work with. I am not sure how to comment on the price since we did not get any quotes from other contractors, we just trusted all the excellent comments from Angie's list. Will defintely use them again !!

The job was a big one involving making three rooms into two, one an expansive kitchen. Walls were removed, rebuilt, wood floors installed throughout the entire main level and upstairs, air conditioning installed and a small deck built off a new kitchen slider. Most of the work was handled by Fran's team, but the few contractors used were all experienced and performed at the same level as Francis White. We lived out of a makeshift sunroom kitchen and because we were so pleased with the job, we really didn't stress too much.

As it has been with every job Fran and his crews have done for us, the work was of the highest quality and the entire operation, seamless. Because of Fran's deep experience in the building trades, he was able to estimate time and material expenses with accuracy. Any cost overruns resulted when we found materials that were more expensive than Fran's estimated cost, but which we wanted anyway (think Travertine for the backsplash vs. a glazed tile). Fran has a good selection of preferred subcontractors and has worked with them extensively, so he managed the purchase of all supplies/material, and coordinated the work in such a way as to impose minimal inconvenience on us. A good thing too, since one's kitchen is the hub of much of the activity in a household. While Fran (and his experienced craftsmen) have well-informed opinions about design and choice of material, they will always work with a homeowner to suit individual tastes. That said, I'd always trust Fran's artistic/design sense to ensure a good outcome. We are most pleased with this job! Everyone who's seen it loves it and we are sure that it adds significantly to the overall value of the house. Fran is our "go-to-guy" for any work we will ever need done.

My wife and I were initially impressed to see the number of positive remarks for Francis X. White Builder Inc. on Angie?s List. And, after further review we didn?t hesitate to call for an appointment to discuss a remodeling project for our basement and master bathroom. It took a second phone call after a week to talk to Fran but he agreed to do an estimate and suggested a time during the following week for us to meet. My wife and I then scheduled time off of work for that day and looked forward to his arrival. Unfortunately he never came that day, nor did he call to say he was running late or to apologize. We have not heard from Fran since. I think everyone should expect a basic level of courtesy in communicating with professionals. The thing that bothers us the most is the complete absence of a simple phone call. So, with all of the positive comments you read about Francis X. White Builder Inc., please note that from our experience he didn?t honor his commitment or respect our time. Thumbs down from us.

Francis White Builders took my basement from a completely unfinished space and transformed it into a first class living space. They created a business office space, bar and entertainment area as well as a TV viewing area. Hardwood flooring and title throughout the basement, a custom built bar and shelving units, new sink with plumbing installed, remodeled the stairway with new flooring and treads, installed granite tops on the bar and created an island area with a granite top. All of this work was performed by what I consider true professionals that are part of the Fran White Builders team. If you want to do it right and have complete faith in your contractor, then go get Fran White. I have used him and his company many times in the past, and they have never failed me in what they deliver, in fact, they always exceed my expectations.

Fran White and team created a basement living area that is second to none. Fran takes the time to assist you right at the beginning with the design of the space by providing his expertise and knowledge so that you maximize everything you can out of the available area. Fran stays with the project on a daily basis and is always available to update you on the progress of the project. Fran White builders created a complete bar & entertainment area, including a custom bar with a granite bat top, custom shelving and title flooring. They also created a business office space, with hardwood flooring, drop ceiling and wood trim throughout. And finally, they designed a TV viewing area with hardwood flooring and custom wood trim work as well as a custom 15 ft long, ceiling high bookshelf system. Complete professional and highly talented is how I describe Fran's team. Never missing a day and always mindful of your house. I have used Fran and team many times and they never disappoint, in fact, they always exceed my expectations. The job went quickly; in and out in 6 hours. They worked without a break (rain was headed our way) and got everything finished in record time. When the rain came, the drain worked just as it was intended to. My basement is now bright and my guests will be safe now that there is a second way to get out in case of a fire. Frank and his crew were VERY professional.

We have contacted Fran White on several occasions, from needing plumbing, electrical, and other small jobs, such as having assist rails installed throughout our house to a screened-in patio renovation. Each time the works was completed in a timely fashion and with impeccable workmanship. I would not hesitate to call Fran for any job around the house. Fran not only comes to provide an estimate and , he follows up on every job. He doesn't just send some one out and send an invoice. And speaking of his workers, every person that has worked in or around our house has be very neat and courteous and left no mess behind for us to clear

each of the crew was friendly and knowledgeable, and was there to get the job done as efficiently as possible. Fran's skilled camera work provided the insurer the clear visual references needed to see the nature of the problem and agree to remediation. Fran's estimate was sufficiently detailed to satisfy the insurer, and well within spec for the work the insurer could approve. Bottom line: Fran is a contractor and builder of the first rank. He's an exacting craftsman and a joy to work with. He employs workers in his own mold. Steve is an absolute genius builder and a real gentleman. these are lovely people to work with - you will not go wrong.

We are very fortunate to have found Fran via Angie's list for several projects we have undertaken over the past 2 years, both at our own home and that of our elderly parents. We have relied on his company to provide a host of different services, and have been pleased with each and every job his crew has performed. There comes a point in life where proven expertise, reliability, quality of service and true market value are paramount to home improvement projects. His crew completed the projects and we were very pleased with the results. We have referred Fran to many of our friends who needed an experienced contractor.

We are very pleased with the renovations that Fran did to our bathrooms. When he came out to scope out the job, he listened carefully to our needs and provided suggestions for us to consider which made the design more complete. He was easy to work with and was flexible when we made a couple changes during the project. He worked within the estimate that he gave us and there were no "surprises". His craftsman, Steve, was very meticulous in his work. The tiles are neat and well-aligned with straight lines. He also took care to make sure the work under and behind the finished surfaces was done properly. His prep work was very exacting. Fixtures were set in place carefully and securely. Molding was precisely made and tightly installed. He handled walls that were not straight or square. His painting was uniform and neat. He was extremely neat and clean. He cleaned up the job site daily and took many precautions as he moved through the house to get to the work areas. We were impressed not only with the high level of craftsmanship but also with the trustworthiness and integrity that Fran, Steve and all of his company displayed.

We had a noticeable sag in our dining room floor due to a cracked floor joist. Fran was very professional and thorough when he came out for the estimate. The work was completed in a day. The crew that did the work were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with the repairs.

Francis X. White, Builder, Inc. did a very good job. We are pleased with the renovated bathrooms. Fran listened to our needs and provided suggestions to enhance our design. He was very easy to work with. His craftsman, Steve, was very careful to keep our house clean while he was working. He was very meticulous laying tile and doing all the finishes. He was also very careful in doing the work that is behind what's visible. His prep work was very exacting. He responded to a couple things that we did not like once we saw them installed and he changed them with no issues or complaints. They were very competent, professional and trustworthy. We are very pleased with their work.

I called FXW Builders on a Tuesday morning to describe a job I had and to inquire as to whether they would be able to look at it; nobody answered, so I left a message and requested for them to return my call. The following day, nobody had returned my call, so I tried calling again. Once again, I got their voicemail, which states that they're "away from the office, but will return shortly" and that they will return all calls "as soon as possible." Evidently, that "as soon as possible" is longer than 48 hours. It is entirely understandable for a company that does good work to be busy throughout the day, but it is unacceptable for a company in the service industry to not return phone calls in a timely manner. A two-minute phone call from ANYBODY within the organization would have be a nice gesture to say that they had received my calls & that they would be in touch with me on a given time/day; to expect potential customers to wait days (or longer?) just to hear back is entirely unacceptable. Some jobs entail emergency repairs that require semi-immediate attention and to not get a response is both frustrating and aggravating because the home owner doesn't know whether to move on or to continue waiting for a call-back... While FXW will surely continue to survive without my $70K+ job, I am happy to spread the word regarding my experience with their company to my friends, family, and colleagues, so as to help them avoid the same experience.

Fran and his team, Dennis, (Fran's son) Les, Dan and Brendon, did an amazing job, we could not be happier! We have a 1986, 4,400 Sq Ft Cape Cod that needed all new exterior updating. The team started with a blank slate, we had ideas of what we wanted but the team was integral in bringing our ideas to life. On more than one occasion, we would show Dennis a picture of a dormer, or a porch column that we liked and sure enough - we'd come home that day and the picture would be true to life. They helped with the design and had many great ideas themselves. No detail was spared, from boxing out our radon pipe in trim to making all of the exterior outlets look like they were custom built. Everyone one on the team was always friendly, approachable and would stop and make time for us if we had any questions at all. Our 100% satisfaction was always their goal and they proved that out time and time again. We have dealt with several contractors over the years and frankly were not looking forward to the experience again however, Francis White Builders is definitely a contractor that we would recommend to anyone and we look forward to working with them again.

WOW! There aren't enough accolades for the service we received from Fran White and his team. We decided to relocate and had to sell our house in New Hope, PA quickly. Like most 12 year old houses, our home (about 4700 Sq-Ft) needed a little attention to get it ready for resale. In addition to getting our walls and floors redone, we also had new carpet installed, had new appliances installed in the kitchen, some repair work done from a roof lead, new light fixtures installed, and some foundation work done to our front portico. Even though it was the holiday season, Fran and his construction team worked non-stop throughout December including New Years to complete our project on time for an early January market listing. Fran coordinated all the work including the contractors for appliances and carpet. His whole team knew our goal and worked diligently to make it happen. As I was in another state working on renovating our new home, Fran called me daily with progress updates and sent countless iPhone pictures for clarity. At one point, there was seven painters working on different parts of the house while a paving specialist had set up a tent around our portico so a heater could keep the new mortar he was installing from freezing in the 20 degree temperatures. It was absolutely amazing! Fran also ensured members of his team were there to protect our furniture as the carpet was being laid. When I did arrive, everyone was cordial, took time for me, explained what they were doing to help complete the work and always asked if there was something else they could do to help. That kind of strong work ethic and incredible customer service only comes from excellent leadership and Fran White certainly demonstrated that in spades. Oh?did I mention that all was accomplished on budget as well! My wife and I couldn't be happier with the outcome and have told as many people as we can to always use Francis X. White Builders. Fran and his team not only exceeded our expectations but made it look easy. Believe me, you can't go wrong with this builder.

Worker was prompt, professional, neat, knowledgeable, and did a great repair job. It was a pleasure to deal with him and his employee.

Fran makes an estimate and sticks to it. He is very professional and clearly knows his stuff. This is the second time we worked with Fran and everything went well. His employees tore the laundry room down to the studs. New walls and a new drop ceiling were installed. A window in the laundry room was replaced. When the old window was removed, a large crack in the masonry was found. That caused us to examine the masonry around our entire house. We decided to have all of the cracks in the masonry repointed. They did a great job. We can hardly see where the repointing was done. Fran's employees, besides being incredibly competent, were polite and helpful. They also cleaned up every evening,

We engaged Francis X. White, Builder Inc. for a bathroom remodeling job after reading reviews on Angie?s List. We can confirm that every positive comment we read is on the mark. Fran and his team are old-school craftsmen, real gentlemen, and trustworthy business people. Fran?s initial time and cost estimates were on target with the actuals, considering there were a couple of design changes we made. Fran managed the work down to the smallest detail, including the ordering and delivery of the materials we selected, and showing up regularly to consult with Steve (his hard working, meticulous craftsman), and with us. The two of them did an outstanding job of solving an unexpected problem, worked out a neat solution in about an hour and explained the matter to us so that the work could proceed without a hitch. Fran also made some excellent design recommendations. We will definitely call on Fran for our future repair and remodeling projects, and we recommend him highly.

Fran and his crew's work is always outstanding. From the very beginning when he develops the ideas and layouts for the work, to the construction phase where the crew is always clean and respectful for your house and to the completion when Fran personally calls you to ensure that all aspects of the job were complete to my satisfaction. He has completed numerous jobs on my home and would give him and his crew my highest recommendation.

This company does so many things so well that the phone number is on my speed dial. We have use Frances X. White for carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and just general fixing up. We use them because we know that whatever is needed will be done with superior quality. All we have to do is make a general request and Fran will know what we need and have one or more of his employees take care of it. What I also like is the personal attention, Fran will monitor the work being done and make sure it is done to his satisfaction.

It took a couple of phone calls and voice messages before Mr. White called me back so we could schedule an appointment to come to our house so he could work up an estimate for a kitchen remodel. That was about a two week process. On the day of the appointment about an hour before our appointment time he called to say he'd would be delayed but he would still come which he did. After arriving at our house he listened to our input, took plenty of measurements, talked about how he ran his business and how his workers were company personnel (no subs), and how the estimate would be broken out. He left and we figured we would hear back fro him in a coulpe of weeks. After three weeks (13 Aug) and not hearing back from him I called and a left a voicemail asking if we could expect the estimate in the near future or did he decide that he was unable to work us into his schedule and did not want our work. I asked him to please let me know. To date (9 Sep) I never receive a response. I don't mind him not wanting to do the job, just be courteous enough to let me know.

We are addressing neglected repairs on our house. Fran White was recommended to us by friends who use him and are very satisfied with his service. Fran was very professional when reviewing the items to be repaired in advance of providing the estimate for the job. He photographed every area, came up with creative solutions to the problems we were experiencing, and was willing to work with us to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. He assigned two of his crew - Curt and Brendan - to our project, and I can't say enough good things about them. The were knowledgeable, very thorough and extraordinarily good guys - if you have to have someone at your house every day for several weeks, these two guys are the ones you want. Considerate, hard working and fastidious about the condition of the worksite at the end of the day. They did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier. I recommend Fran and his crew very highly!

I called several times and it took forever to call me back....at that point I was not interested in hiring him.
