They gave me an estimate on the first call-it wasen`t the lowest but they seemed to know their business and they were very professional. The job was completed in a few days. They always showed up on time and cleaned up after they were done.I will also say unknown to me it was the beginning of trout season and they still came and did the job-I have found that if it is the beginning of any sport season in Pennsylvania it`s iffy getting a contractor to even return a call.
Description of Work: I had a retaining wall replaced because it was cracked and we had a large crack in our foundation repaired. We also had some cracks in the stucco repaired . Also I had removed a side door and they re-stuccoed the closed off door so the rest of the wall matched including the stucco color.

It went very well overall.
Description of Work: I hired Todd Campbell to install a 110 volt electrical receptacle on the first floor of my house and a dedicated electrical run ("home run") to my existing electrical panel in my basement. I wanted a separate dedicated recptacle to provide electrical power for a 12,000 BTU air conditioner I had recentl;y purchased. Todd was knowledgible and performed the work very well. I had bought 12/2 romex electrical wire and the required circuit breaker. He discovered that my existing electrical panel did not have any more space available in it so he utilized and tandem circuit breaker I had. I am well satisfied with his work.

He was very fair as far as the pricing goes. He is very accommodating and easy to work with. He is going to be replacing my front porch roof shortly and I am waiting for him to give me an estimate.
Description of Work: I used Campbell Construction to do a roof repair and he also replaced my front porch deck for me. He replaced the wooden deck and under structure with pressure treated wood and the deck was synthetic so didn't require any painting or anything. He also took out the railing and put in a vinyl post. He replaced the ladder work underneath.

In a few words - exceeded my expectations. If there were a rating above A, it should be given to Mr. Campbell.
Description of Work: Mr. Campbell installed various light fixtures, 2 countertops, several faucets, re-routed the dryer vent, installed insulation, and many other household repairs. There are no repairs/installs/upgrades that I wouldn't trust to Mr. Campbell and his team.

The experience was excellent. It only took a few phone calls to coordinate activities and two visits by Todd (one for the estimate and one to complete the work) to achieve a successful outcome. The roof no longer leaks. Todd is knowledgeable, skilled, focused on his work, and pleasant and easy to work with. He did what he said he would do. I recommend Campbell Construction without reservation. I've already arranged for their help on several additional tasks.

They took a little while to get back to us but they did state that they were extremely busy at the time. He is also works as a professor at one of the local colleges, so you take that into consideration with his busy schedule as well. He went out of his way to work with us. He was very professional and the prices weren't that bad considering the size of the roof and the amount of scaffolding that would be required to do the job.

Fantastic.
Description of Work: After having my roof re-shingled by another roofer and then having problems I called Campbell Construction and they came within a short time of my calling them, they found the problem and made the repairs within 45 minutes. To me what was a disaster they turned into a tiny job, I am well pleased with them and I also sent them another customer.

After a few hours of operation, I was starting to notice a smell that ended up being the factory burn-off that was temporary. But I was also noticing that there was a noticeable cool air movement coming back into the room from outside. So I checked with Mr. Icker (FP retailer); he had actually sent a wrong vent part for my situation. He had to order the correct part, so I shut off the unit for about a week until that part came in. Todd went and picked it up, had to disassemble most everything, put the correct part into the wall venting position, caulked and sealed up everything again, and for the rest of the winter, I enjoyed my new fireplace! It helped supplement my electric baseboard heat quite nicely; I could really tell that the gas FP heat would travel thru the house. I saved quite a bit on my electric bill this winter and the cost of the gas was not much at all. Todd (of course) was very cooperative and happy to make sure everything was operating safely and properly.
Description of Work: As one of several projects, I hired Todd Campbell to remove the unvented (natural) gas fireplace (FP) and replace it with a new Montigo direct-vent (natural) gas fireplace (#H38DF) with optional blower. First, Todd helped me measure to make sure I bought the correct size unit. He went to the retailer ("Chimney Charm Inc" in Scranton) to double-check my choice and discussed with owner (Kevin Icker) the specifics about the installation and which venting parts would be needed. Todd also picked up the appliance when it was available for me. Todd had to add an "L" and a shutoff valve to the gas line so shutting off the appliance after heating season wouldn't interrupt the gas flow to my water heater and clothes dryer. He also extended the electrical line to the area. Then he disassembled the FP surround and removed the unvented unit. He had to cut a ~10 inch square vent hole out of the side of my house to vent the new FP. He framed around this cutout and got the wall insulation reoriented, checked the R-value and condition of the insulation in the rest of the wall (it was good). He then installed the new FP, adding the optional blower to the unit and his assistant hooked up the electrical to the blower. Since this FP was taller and slightly narrower than the other one, they then had to further disassemble the surround and adjust it to the new size. Fortunately, Todd was able to make this adjustment with only a few small changes. When he finished, it seemed to be operating fine.

First huge project was to remove a raised "parapet" type structure on my roof's ridgeline that was built up to support and house a double skylight. Look at the top of any "Pizza Hut" building; I'm trying to describe a smaller version of that! The skylight (altho slightly tinted) was basically a hot-air tunnel in the summer and a cold-air tunnel in the winter! It made my house extremely expensive to cool in the summer and heat in the winter (the exact OPPOSITE of eco-friendly)! After discussing several options of tackling this problem, Todd and assistants removed the skylights and disassembled the entire parapet structure. They then patched in replacement sheathing and shingles and installed caps for a water-tight seal. I have a double hip-style roof; they basically lowered the roofline and repaired it to match the other one. Then from the inside he installed a maximum R-38 insulation in the attic space, removed two light fixtures, reframed and lowered the ceiling with replacement drywall; then he spackled, primed and painted the interior new ceiling. I was able to realize immediate savings on my cooling/electricity bill and have continued to save on heating costs over the winter! Throughout this whole project, we had to reassess this or that aspect (such as how low to drop the ceiling in this area). Todd just guided me thru the pro's and con's of each minor decision and we ended up with a very happy solution to a very big problem!
Description of Work: Todd has done multiple and diverse repair and installation jobs for me in the past several months and I hope this reporting system allows me to report on all his jobs, because he is a terrific contractor! After the first year of owning my home and paying STARTLING electricity prices, I knew I had to have some serious structural changes made. We went thru the house and he made a list of all my concerns, and before he started he gave me a written list describing each project and estimated price, which we both signed and dated. He works either alone or with 1 or 2 assistants, as needed and according to the job. He also teaches at the community college (not sure when he has time). This is an aspect of his professionalism that is particularly appealing to me, because he is always willing to answer my questions or check and get back with the info. He is a very honest, personable and professional man. He and his assistants work together very well and are respectful of each other and of the customer. His and his team's work is always meticulous and exact, and they always clean up after the job. I have been very satisfied with his work to date, and I still have several house repair projects for him to do! I found him on Angie's List, so I'm also very thankful for your services as well.

When I called and left a message on Mr. Campbell's answering machine, he returned my call the same day. He came the next day, a Saturday, to look at the job. He was back to me within a few days with an estimate, which I accepted. He came to do the work within several days after that, which was as soon as the weather conditions permitted. When he arrived I pointed out that part of a shingle had been blown off and asked if he could repair that too with a shingle I provided. He agreed to that with no problem. He attended to the job in a professional and able manner and ended up charging me $100.00 less than the original estimate. He said the job was not as difficult as he originally thought and did not take as long to complete.
Description of Work: Repaired torn roof valley and missing shingle piece on a high, steep roof section. Also realigned a gutter section that was not draining properly.
