Description of Work: Originally made an appointment with me on 4/29/14 to do some work at my house on 05/02/14, they then no showed. After I emailed him, about this he seemed unaware that we even had an appointment. On 05/05/2014 he emailed me an apology and said he had availability on the 7th, 8th, and 9th. I indicated that the 9th would work best for me and asked for confirmation of appt.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal coupon from Reliable Handyman Services for handyman services.

Description of Work: I hired them to address a pipe that burst in my bathroom. They replaced a toilet, vanity, vanity mirror, storage shelf, and painted.

Description of Work: I called Mike Meade based upon an A rating on this site to adjust a fan in my 2 story family room and to put wraping around the outside door frame of the french doors in my kitchen because the paint was peeling. We agreed upon a time for him to come by for a estimate, but he showed up at another time unannounced. He quoted $400.00. After a number of no-shows and unreturned calls, he finally confirmed for this Saturday at 9 am. Having not heard from him by 9 am, I gave him a call and he informed me that he had not rented a piece of equipment that he needed for the job and was driving around trying to location one. After a few calls, he asked if he could reschedule to Sunday at 9 am and I agreed. At 8:50 am on Sunday, I received a text message that Mike had overslept and would be there soon. Having plans myself, I called him at 9:30 am to find out where he was and he told me that again, he had not rented the equipment he needed and was again driving around trying to find one. He finally found a place to rent the equipment and showed up at my house late morning. Again, having plans, I left Mike at my house with my sitter and a $400 check. My husband got home just as Mike was leaving and took a look at the french doors. In one word, it was a complete disaster. Mike had atttempted to wrap the door in a plastic material that he could not bend so he just hammered it in place and put tons of caulk all over the frame. It is a complete mess. When my husband asked him about the caulk, Mike said that you smooth caulk over once it has dried and that he would come back to do it. This is not my experience with caulk (and unfortuately, I'm the handy one in my house, not my husband so he didn't second guess Mike). Mike also asked my husband for $30 more because he was unable to rent the equipment from the usual place he dealt with (and again unfortunately, I dealt with Mike so my husband was unaware of the estimate). However, even with the estimate, Mike wanted to charge $30 more because he failed to rent the equipment timely. This is not my problem. When I got home and saw the mess, I called Mike and asked why he took a job that he clearly was unable to do. His response was that he didn't like my tone, but agreed to give me the checks back for $150.00. I agreed to give him $100 for the fan and nothing more because I will now have to pay more for the door because the repairman will have to remove all the mess Mike made. Apparently, realizing that he was in the wrong, he took the $100 in full satisfaction of the job.

Description of Work: I met with the owner to review some handyman and plumbing work I needed done. I needed some plumbing upgrades done, the remodeling of two bathrooms, the addition of a half bath, demolition work, and some general upgrades.

Description of Work: I had two issues that needed addressing-- fencing and plumbing. Outside, Mike and his assistant repaired my fence by digging, pouring concrete, replacing posts and sections of fence damaged during the winter, plus they repaired the gate area so the gate would open and close properly. Inside, Mike replaced a toilet, put in a new water valve and (at my last-minute request) installed a toilet paper holder.

Description of Work: My husband and I started a bathroom remodel and replaced a sink but instead of getting a pedestal replacement we bought one with an enclosed base and shelf for storage. This shelf got in the way of the internal plumbing (which wasn't mentioned on the box! BUT it's a beautiful sink go figure). Anyway, after several attempts to fix it ourselves we called Mr. Meade after finding him on Angie's List. He was initially going to fix a leak in the plumbing we installed (haha), but he was able to tell us the configuration we used wasn't up to code standards and that with that particular mechanism sewer gas would get stuck in the S-trap, creating a vacuum which sucked the water out of the S-Trap and allowing the gas to enter the bathroom. Which is dangerous and why it isn't an approved way of doing things....which we of course did not know. He then, after thoroughly explaining everything, went on to bring our plumbing up to code and drilled two holes in the shelf to accommodate a P-Trap and everything works perfectly! He also shimmed up the floor so that the sink was level - which we didn't realize wasn't the case before.. we're NEW DIYers lol.

Description of Work: My home is an older three bedroom, one and a half bathroom model. He reconfigured the entire laundry room plumbing layout so everything was easier to get to. He also fixed my house's main drain line and drain box to the street. The work only took two days.
