 + -1 moreWe called and left a message and he failed to return call . We called again and he did return our call. but failed to keep his appointment. When he did come out, he was very professional and he reduced the price from his original quote. Yes, I would hire him again.

We were particularly impressed with the coordination of the entire team as they efficiently took down the tree and cleaned the site. The entire project was completed at a cost considerably lower than competitors. We highly recommend them!
Description of Work: Removed a mature sweet gum tree and ground-out the stump and major roots.

 + -1 moreThe cost was 1/3 of what we would have expected -- considering we called a dozen other services, last year and others didn't even come close! My husband usually downs our trees, but this was a tricky job -- as was last year's. This is the second time we have had work done with them, and we have recommended them to ALL our neighbors. One of our other neighbors hired them, and they are pleased with their work too -- again, 1/3 the anticipated cost. The other neighbor hopes to soon being having work done too. The workmen are highly professional and courteous. Since last year, they have become very busy. I would recommend that when the owner comes out to give the estimate, have him also write down a completion date. We had left that rather open, since we knew the deal could not be beat, and they provide excellent service. One has to remember, though -- when working outside, weather plays a large part regarding when jobs can get done. As I look at some of the other services rated and quot;Aand quot; here, I will say that many of them were the same companies that gave us unbelievable estimates. You can get excellent quality work at a fraction of the price with Samuelson. One other thing: They do not gauge customers, when a weather emergency arises and trees need immediate attention. A friend of mine experienced TERRIBLE price gauging, after a tornado we had in our community, and that tree service is listed as an and quot;Aand quot; too.

 + -1 moreWe called this company based on my recommendation from a service they did for me years ago. Initially the owner was polite but hard to reach. We were always polite. With both my fiance and I being in sales, we found them to be very unresponsive and unprofessional. This was a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend them to anyone in the future. All we asked for was communication and they wouldn't respond.
Description of Work: When he finally came to our house to give us an estimate (after several phone calls with no return calls, we had to actually go to his house to talk to him. (He has a business sign in his front yard so his home is his office) He told us he was sorry but he was very busy. He then said he would be out the next week. He wasn't. After more phone calls, he had two people finally show up about a week later. (Again, no phone call, just showed up). One of the guys did not like the fact that we didn't want their truck in our back yard because we didn't want it torn up. He was very upset about this. We also had someone here at the time installing some siding and they felt they would be in their way. The person who was with him said they would come back the next day to take care of the service. They never showed up and we never received a phone call. After approximately 6 more phone calls with NO response, we finally called another service to come out and they are going to trim for us. (Which I will rate later but so far their service has been spectacular). We asked Samuelson to at least give us a courtesy call if they weren't planning to come out but we never heard back from them one time.

 + -1 moreAs I mentioned above, it could not have gone better! I related the events from start to finish in my comments above. From start to finish, they totally impressed everyone! Oh, I forgot to mention that they came on the exact day that they said they would. The owner even called in the morning to let me know what hours they would be there... and they were! Also, the neighbors could not believe how well they cleaned up -- raking and using a leaf-blower to clean up all our seed-pods. They were very respectful of our neighbors property. Again, I HIGHLY recommend this tree service! You will be VERY PLEASED. (And NO, I didn't know anyone involved in this tree service ahead of time :-)
Description of Work: My husband and I contacted 10 different tree services, after consulting Angie's list. We are on a tight budget, yet we wanted high quality service at a reasonable price. Only half of the tree service companies came out to give us an estimate. However, the Samuelson Tree Service (the owner) was one of the first to come to our house and give us an estimate. His estimate was FAR LESS then the other tree services that gave us estimates. Most tree services were $500-$1,000 more. We were amazed!!! However, we trusted that Samuelson would do a good job, since they were rated an A on Angie's List. Well, we couldn't have been happier! He provided a copy of his insurance immediately. He and his crew could not have been more polite, focused, and professional!!! They had all the equipment they needed to get the job done exactly the way we wanted it. They took down two large trees, removed the wood chips, and ground up the stumps. Even when it started to lightly rain, they continued to work. I was HIGHLY impressed!!! They cleaned up after themselves so well that I actually think that they left the front yard cleaner than it was before! All of our neighbors were VERY impressed. In fact, two of them asked for estimates on their trees while the service was there, since they saw what a superior job the service had done at our house. Another neighbor indicated to me that he will no longer use another local tree service, since Samuelson Tree Service is FAR more reasonable and competent. Also, they came in exactly on estimate. How many times does THAT happen! I will certainly use Samuelson Tree Service in the future as well as recommend them!
