Really outstanding--- careful review, thoughtful comments, and several useful suggestions---- and would not accept payment.

The estimate from Russell Roofing was a little higher than one estimate I received and a little lower than another. When I asked Ron what Russell Roofing would do that would justify a slightly higher price, he was a consummate professional. He looked over the other bid with me and pointed out things like solid-core ridge vents, copper counter-flashing and hand nailing that would cost a little more and he explained why each of these elements was worth the extra money. For financial reasons, I ended up going with a temporary fix for my leak but when it comes time for a permanent fix, I ll go with Ron Hall and Russell Roofing.

They diagnosed the problem and were very successful at fixing it. The estimate was accurate and the work was terrific. We had a leak prior and it has not returned since they did the work. They were very careful and didn't waste our time.

I was floored that the sales guy told me he couldn't sleep at night if he charged me for a problem that would cost a lot of out of pocket money based upon necessity. He literally took two hours out of his day and fixed the problem for me. He did not charge me a thing. I felt so badly I basically made him take a hundred bucks to cover his gas and materials. He told me that I can just spread the word to other people that they're a good company and use them in the future for my roofing needs and we'd be even. Now that is what I call a great company. I can see why they're rated so well on AL, where I found them.

They did a fantastic job and I was impressed with the work. They were on time, friendly, and made sure to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

We had already had one estimate when Kevin Creighton came out from Russell Roofing. He very thorough in his inspection of the roofs and gave us very much the same explanation of the problem as our previous estimator. Then he showed us photographs of similar work they'd done with examples of what they might find when they tore off the existing roofing. When he came back to deliver the estimate, he told us, straight out, that he didn't think we should hire them. They are a specialized company designed to do large jobs. They bring in a copper smith to do the copper, etc. He thought we could get a smaller, less specialized company to do the same work for half the price. But after saying that, he was still willing to sit with us for half an hour and help us figure out how to get the work done right. He went over the estimates we got from the other contractors with us. He offered to talk with us again if we had any questions. I am incredibly impressed with this company's integrity.

Russell presented to me and my wife in July. Their presentation was the best I've ever received and included other projects on similar roofs. Their quote was more detailed, more extensive, and less expensive than any others we'd reviewed. We hired them on August 2, 2006 and paid a $1090 deposit. They showed up to do the work on January 4, 2007. The quality of work was just excellent. They were extremely neat. There was a big storm and the open (but tarped) roof leaked. They came over at 6AM to stop the leak. They sent (and paid for) a professional painter to repair the interior water damage. All said and done, I would certainly use them again. They were great, even in the face of adversity. I do wish it hadn't taken them five months to start the job, but I do think it was worth the wait. If you have slate or tile, don't mess around with less-than-professional roofers!

I find them expensive. They were very courteous and professional.

They continued to work with us until the work was done to our satisfaction.

AFTER READING THE FINE PRINT OF A CONTRACT THAT MY SENIOR CITIZEN PARENTS SIGNED, I, AS POWER OF ATTORNEY, DECIDED THAT THEY HAD TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT DUE TO EXCEEDINGLY HIGH PRICE , COUPLED WITH A ONE YEAR WARRANTY ON A CUSTOM COPPER ROOF, AND EXTRAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE BID PRICE. THE CONTRACT WAS CANCELED AS SPECIFIED BY STATE LAW WITH A CERTIFIED LETTER WITHIN THE REQUIRED TIME PERIOD. BOTH THE ESTIMATOR AND THE COMPANY PRESIDENT CALLED TO PRESSURE MY PARENTS AND ME NOT TO CANCEL. AFTER 3 EMAILS, ONE CERTIFIED LETTER, 3 PHONE CONVERSATIONS, AND MANY PHONE MESSAGES LEFT FOR THE ROOFERS, MY PARENTS FINALLY DID GET A TOTAL REFUND.

THE TWO MEN WERE PUNCTUAL AND VERY POLITE. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK.
