A representative came out to evaluate the job. He was courteous and appropriately dressed however let me know that he was concerned about my being saved. I let him speak and responded briefly. He really was on a roll and finally I decided it was enough and ended that conversation. I received a report and a copy of the pictures that he took which were quite detailed and the estimate which was by far much more expensive than any other roofer. I then received a call from the owner who left a message and wanted to know if I was satisfied with the quality of service. I returned his call but we kept missing each other and then he went out of town and we never connected.

We are very thankful to find Russell Roofing to complete not only things we needed done to our home, but also to install solar panels we dreamed about having. It all started with a wind storm blowing off shingles of our roof 2/12/09. Knowing our rear roof faced almost directly south, and that the state of PA. was just in the process of passing a 30% refund for solar energy, we decided to shoot for a combo new roof & solar panels. After approx. 2 months of searching the web, we had 3 contractors come & bid on job. All 3 had to sub contract roofing & insulation work. A neighbor knowing what we wanted ran across Russell roofing & gave us their card. A phone call had Sal DePrisco come to our home, and us putting Russell Roofing our our list of contractors. Of the 3 internet contractors, one was eliminated due to he didn't know squat about solar, another wanted to put a metal roof (sub contracted out) on so he could install stick on solar strips, & the 3rd wanted to put on solar panels that we later found out wouldn't fit on our roof! Farther checking we found the stick on strips produce a little better than 1/2 the electric power produced from a solar panel. Calling Sal DePrisco back, he professionally explained how his company Russell Roofing could do the complete job. 1)Russell will not just bolt brackets for panels through shingles voiding their 50 yr. warranty. They attach special brackets directly to bare roof beforehand. 2)No, they don't just blow in 9" extra insulation without making sure you have proper air flow to control humidity. They installed rig vent & perforated eves. 3)They installed 36 solar panels that fit my roof perfect providing 7,777 KW max. power. VERY NEAT JOB! Solar power was switched on 9/06/09 & the icing on the cake came 4 days later when the final independent inspector came. After approx. 1hr. he gave his report. "I've done well over 300 solar inspections & this is the best I've ever seen!" Russell Roofing also didn't just fade away after job was completed. They did all the state filings for rebate. Sal has been in touch many times to monitor energy produced from panels & to make sure we were well satisfied with their work. Sal also hooked us up with Knollwood Energy so we could take advantage of exracks credits. Really can't say too many great things about Russell Roofing helping us make our dreams come true! The added value our home now has, dealing with one contractor for whole job, & the peace of mind being able to tell our grandkids (when we get some) that we did things to ensure a better future for them!

I called them and they told me that there was a gentleman who worked with our area and he would call me when he was available within the next couple of days. He called me later on that day and we discussed the problem. He called me about a week later when he was in the area and he came right out to look at it. He came down after looking everything over and said that it was a small job and they he could fix it right there. He fixed it while he was there. He did a good job. I was pleased with the service. They had a very good price.

Three companies bid for the work, Russell came in the highest but provided the most detailed bid and Ron Hall seemed quite knowledgeable. Plus they were the only company to note the age of the skylights and have a 5-star rating as skylight installers. We ended up going with Russell for both the roof and skylights. The crew was clean, professional, and honest. They also were contracted to blow insulation in our ceiling attic but noted and documented several deficiencies in the prior electrical work that needed to be corrected before the insulation. Generally very satisfied with our roof work. Russell was more expensive but they provided a high quality product/service.

They were prompt, professional and responsive to my needs. Their pricing was very competitive as well. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

They have also done a lot of work for my church and have done a very good job of it. They came on Monday and gave me an estimate and I wrote the deposit cheque and signed the contract and sent it to them. The work would probably be done in the next couple of weeks. They are professional, knowledgeable and punctual.

They called and apparently came to look at the roof while I was at work. Never received a quote. Called back a few weeks later. Said they would send it right away. Never received. I would consider for future business, if they were more responsive.

It was truly a pleasure, and we have had a tremendous experience with them. The guys who came in did a good job. When they left, we couldn't say they were here other than the new lights. We were very happy with them.

Once the sales rep had left, the job was scheduled. They delivered a color for the flat roof that was unexceptionable. We found out later that other colors were available in this material. They put the seams together with glue in a way that appeared wrong. Every time we mentioned this to them they rebutted our ideas. The water type casings joining the stone walls and the flashing's were left unfinished. The seams around the joint were installed incorrectly and are ugly. When it came to collect the bill the men came and demanded payment and said that they had lawyers. Although their motto is "We don't leave until the customer is happy." What they really mean is that they don't leave until they're paid.

Not easy to work with; we are in transition with our house on the market, and moving to another state. They seemed determined not to provide a quote because our house was on the market.

The workers at Russell Roofing do more craft wise work and use their hands more, so it's a little more expensive. I was really impressed with the estimator and the things that he taught me. I wanted to hire them, but the price was out of my comfort zone.

We had a three other estimates along with Russell. From the beginning when the project manager, Rick Rhodes came out, the experience was different. He did not give an estimate on the first visit. My husband was not home and he came back on a Saturday so that he could explain the different types of roofs and gutters to both of us at the same time. He was professional, patient and answered all of our questions. We also asked about repairing the slate roof and he told us that it needed to be replaced. He would not repair it and "take our money". The estimate was a little higher than the others; however, we were more comfortable with this company. Two of the companies just came out and just mailed the estimates. We even showed Rick two of the other estimates and he explained the difference. We could not afford to replace the slate and Rick explained the process of the installation of the shingled roof and made us feel comfortable with it.He suggested the copper gutter system to give the house curb appeal because the roof is not visible when you approach the house. We contracted for the job at that point. He told us that the job would probably start at the end of Feb or beginning of Mar. Russell called earlier to begin the work and all was completed by Feb 20. The construction superintendent was Dick Endts and he and the crew were very professional and neat.He explained what they were going to do and approximately how long it would take. They installed the roof and had to replace a couple of the roofing boards. They replaced the boards with the same qualith that was on the house originally. Mike DeWitt was the mechanic/production foreman for installing the gutter system. They took their time and the did a beautiful job. They even installed chimney caps that we purchased for no charge. Dick Endts came back to do the walk-through on a Saturday so that my husband and I both could be here before we gave our final payment. He even took my husband on the roof so that he could view the work. I mentioned that one of the gutters did not have the same curve as the other and he explained why it was done that way; however, offered an alternative to move the direction of the spout. He did not have the tools or copper with him at the time and said that he would come back on Monday to change it. I checked Monday night and it had been done. Two weeks later we noticed that they even trimmed our tree limbs for us! We would like to say that you get what you pay for. Russell Roofing did a magnificent job! We would use them again and recommend them to everyone we know. They operate with honesty and integrity and take pride in the work that they do. The work is unsurpassed by another other roofing company that we have used. I was a little apprehensive that their estimate was the most expensive; however, we are so pleased that we chose to use Russell. To Russell Roofing, you did a wonderful job and we are ecstatic over the completed job.

Well. This was a messy job and the crew was very diligent about cleaning up multiple times throughout the course of the day. Paul and his crew addressed my every request. But even before the job was scheduled, I dealt with Marc Bratton, the project manager, who was very friendly and attentive to my every question and request. This company is very people oriented and delivers great service. I recommend them highly.

The project manager, Rick, came out to look at the damage a few hours prior to our scheduled appointment time. He spoke with us over the phone about the necessary repair, and after getting approval to proceed, completed the job within hours. We couldn't have imagined such fantastic service-the job was done before they were even scheduled to look at it! Russell Roofing will be at the top of our list of companies to call when the roof needs replacing down the road.

This required removing the previous roof and removing cedar shakes in one area. They had to nail down plywood where staples had been used in the past. We were very pleased with the quality of work. The project manager of the actual workers. The communication with the contractor during installation was wonderful. He gave us lots of references and we were very pleased.

Their service was excellent, however a little pricy. Their staff was extremely knowledgeable. Ron taught us a lot about how our roof functioned and the problems throughout. He delivered what he promised, and was very accessible the entire project.

Their service was impecable and he was very promopt. The estimate that they provided was very thorough, and he explained it to me.

I set up the estimate over the phone and got a call from the estimator within a day or so. The estimator came out on a rainy day and couldn't do a formal estimate, but came back three days later to give a formal estimate which was done quickly and professionally. We haven't gotten all the bids for the job yet but will probably hire Russell in large part because of the professionalism of the estimator.

Showed up on time for estimate and when they were to do the work. All went well EXCEPT they forgot to place shingles over bottom of the completed skylight flange, leaving it exposed. No leaks occurred however they are yet to come back and place the final layer of shingles at base of skylight. I paid 1/3 down...remainder to be paid when work is complete....which will be when they finish the job. All told, I am happy with the quality of the work performed and all leaks have stopped, even during the three very hard rains that recently occurred. I also compared their price to others, and it was slightly higher BUT I chose them because: (1) They use their OWN employees...not subcontractors...so that is better quality control; (2) They had not only insurance to cover damage to my property during the work...they had LIABILITY INSURANCE in the event someone fell off the roof and was injured or killed...this would result in a lawsuit as it occurred on my property so beware of this matter...very important!!!!! (3) They carried WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE.....very important if their employees are injured on the job...if they do not you can be sued for their injury as it occurred on your property....VERY IMPORTANT!!!! So it was worth a few more dollars for the work.

They have been very professional. They were on time and were within about one hundred dollars of any other competitor. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a roofer.

We had a leak on a Sunday afternoon, I sent an email to them immediately and they called FIRST thing Monday morning, and visited our home that same afternoon! Rick Rhodes was able to determine what was needed was some silicone caulking. Rick handled it for us right then and there so we didn't need to schedule a re-visit. Talk about impeccable service!

We had two leaky skylights in our sun room and called Russell Roofing for an estimate. We were impressed by the knowledgeable staff and comprehensive estimate. After a huge storm (an 8-bucket storm, so to speak) we arranged to have the new skylights put in. We also were faced with a time crunch; HGTV wanted to film our room for an episode on the show Rip + Renew and we had one month to fix the skylights. We needed custom skylights, which typically would have arrived in time but due to a problem at the factory they were unable to get them in time. Sal worked with us to find an alternative to the current size of the skylights. In the end, we had to go with smaller skylights but the difference wasn't noticeable (especially after HGTV got done with the room)! The skylights were installed quickly and so far no leaks. They also came with a 15 year guarantee, which gives us peace of mind. Russell Roofing took care of retrofitting the skylights and all "outside" work, and we were responsible for the finish carpentry and drywall repair inside the room. Overall, we are very impressed with this company and would certainly use them again for other roofing needs.

Russell Roofing already had a good reputation that I had heard about from the neighborhood, but their service exceeded my expectations. We had gotten a few estimates for the entire roof of our 3 story twin. They ranged from $5000 to $21000. Russell came in at $21000 and was the highest quote we received. However, after speaking to Cory Rutter, their sales rep, he assured me they could work something out. They came back with a revised estimate that saved me $5000. They took off the gutters and copper, which I was at first concerned about but then was sold by their presentation and professionalism. Russell had a team of people working on the project from the moment of the original inspection. They were concerned about a neighbors roof tied in to ours and assured her of their warranty and other folks on the block that they would be careful of their property and using it as access to the roof. In fact several different teams came to work over the course of the project. Each one professional and very cordial. The supervisor(s) made a point to speak to one of us everyday about the job and how it was going. There was a flat roof team that even helped unload groceries from our car. They were very clean, which was a concern of ours. Cleaning up very well everyday. We had 2 problems: First the team to do the metal fabricating insisted that we go with the copper around the chimney. Second, a 3rd floor window leaked and had to have extra work done, which they did with out charge. (Window repair was in the original inspection & estimate)

Came to house with 2 days of inquiry, checked other companies, had best product for the best price. My man Sal, took pictures of my roof, walked me through the entire process, told me what needed to be done and gave me all my options. Within three weeks, the crew was at my house and finished within 4 days. Both the foreman of the job and Sal were around to make sure I was informed and satisfied. Could not of gone smoother, crew was professional, they cleaned up every night, there were no problems at all. Since I had my roof done, neighbors liked the way Russell Roofing worked and two of them have contacted the company to do their roofs. Couldn't be more please with the outcome and the professionalism of the company.
