They were very professioanl. The guys who did the work were Stacey and Gary. They were also very polite, and talked to me about what was happening and why this was doing this. Another roofing company had already worked on the gutter twice and it did not get fixed, and this time, Russel Roofing fixed it and figured it out. I think they were able to figure this out, at least in part because they were willing to talk to me. I also believe that this was not subcontracted, and Stacey and Gary were on the same pay roll as the men who did the original estimate. I'm now talking to them to give me an estimate for the entire roof, and shingles. I would like to use them again.

Russell Roofing was one of three companies I contacted to give me an estimate for a gutter replacement. They had come in highly recommended both by Angie's List and by a friend, so I was pleased when their estimate for a copper gutter replacement was only slightly higher than another estimate for a rubber-lined gutter, and I accepted and signed a contract with Russell Roofing. But two weeks later, I got a call from one of the managers at Russell Roofing saying that they had mis-estimated the cost of the copper and therefore would not be able to perform the work for the price they had quoted, and offered either to do the work for a 50% higher cost or to return my deposit check. After fuming about this overnight and wondering what part of "contract" they didn't understand (after all, if I had cancelled, the contract said they would keep my $4000 deposit), I accepted the deposit back and hired another company instead.

Excellent service and job on a difficult roof. The roof is a clay tile roof approximately 75 years old. A huge oak branch fell and settled on the roof causing tile and roof damage. From the initial estimate through the final job wrap, Russell Roofing was attentive, clear and professional both dealing with me and insurance concerns. The workmen were professional and true craftsman. A great job!

Arrived on Time (7am) and job completed at 10am. Worked quietly( no radio!) and very efficient(2 men).

I found Russell on the internet. I live in Medford, NJ outside Russell's "normal" service area, but I knew they serviced Princeton and Haddonfield, so I thought they might be open to coming to me. I called their very friendly live person receptionist and gave my information. I received a call the next day from Dan.Dan set up an appointment to come to my home. He arrived as scheduled. He took photos of the roof, listened to my description of various structural issues and I had a rough estimate before he left. I had a written offer the next day. I signed the agreement and send a deposit the day after. I am so pleased they accepted my job. Getting someone to work on a flat roof is extremely difficult in rural NJ. in December 4 roofers came; 1 stayed in December--they left the job with a punch list--there are still ongoing problems with the December roofer. The Angie's rating really, was all I needed to agree to sign the contract knowing Russell was going to work out.

I called Russell roofing to come out to inspect our slate roof to get an estimate on repairs.They had several convenient appointment times available. Dan came out on time and inspected our roof. I found him to be friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain to me everything that needed to be done and the reasons for it. The price he quoted was very fair and I feel overall very satisfied.They've scheduled a time to come back out and complete the repairs. I'll write a follow up review once that work is completed. I just wanted to share what has been, so far, a very good experience with Russell Roofing.

Very professional. Seems excellent work was done. Corners were not cut. Communication between time of deposit and time working commencing was a little sparse.

Price is fair for work done. We are very happy with Russell Roofing. We have used them for years and would recommend them to anyone willing to pay a fair price for quality workmanship and professionalism.

If you want to sleep soundly in a house without leaks, do what I did, call Russell Roofing. For two years I struggled with roofing problems. Some parts of my roof are flat, while others are slanted, so there were several issues with pooling of water, seams, downspouts, etc. During those two years, I worked with two roofing companies, neither of which took the time to understand what needed to be done, and they did expensive, sloppy and ineffective repairs. I found Russell Roofing through references from friends and Angie’s list. Three companies, including Russell bid on the project. What impressed me about Russell was the professionalism of their project manager, Sandy Pickard, his representation of how they would approach the project, and the thoroughness with which they diagnosed the problems. The price quoted seemed to fit the problems and my desire for a quality job that would fix my roof and provide a lasting solution. Everything Sandy said they would do was done, and done right. When they found unexpected problems with some of the wood on the roof and adjoining walls under the old roofing materials, they had carpenters who did the repairs correctly. Some stucco work also needed to be done and Sandy Pickard coordinated to get this work done as well. I was impressed by both the carpenters and the masons. The extra work was done for a reasonable budget. Overall, Russell Roofing, Sandy Pickard, my project manager, and Jeff, the crew leader, lived up to their sterling reputation. The workmen were polite, professional and thorough. I give Russell an A+. No other roofing company will ever touch my house.

The estimator was prompt, professional, on time with estimate. Installers were on time, explained what the job entailed, were thorough, courteous and skilled. Materials used were high quality. Overall great experience.

The experience was very pleasant. They came when they said would and finished the job on time. Their customer service was very professional.

While looking for a new roof, flashings, gutters, and 30+ new windows for a large remodel house, I found Russell Roofing on Angie's List and based on their ratings, I contacted them to come out and take a look. Their receptionist, Brooke Brooks, emailed me back a cold and 1 line email, to tell me that they would not come out for a free quote and wanted $200 to take a look. I emailed back that for a job this size and if they were reputable, this was not an acceptable practice and sent a very wrong message to a person looking for honest people to do business with. I then asked Brooke to get with her manager to see if that was the official approach before submitting this write up and she came back with a cold email to say that's the policy. It is very surprising that companies like this with an A rating could think so little of Angie's List customers. Clearly if I am paying for a service to find contractors/service providers, I am serious and looking for a company with an outstanding reputation. This was extremely disappointing and thus I would NOT recommend using this company.

We were impressed from start to finish. Dan was friendly and very professional. He thoroughly explained the scope of the work and addressed all of our questions and concerns. Russell roofing did a top notch job on our roof replacement, in a timely, and courteous manner. They even followed up with a phone call AFTER installation to make sure the work was done to our liking. We were very pleased with their customer service. They are not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for! I would not hesitate to hire this company.

It went wonderful. Contractor Sandy Pickard came to my house on a Saturday to assess my roof and give me an estimate. He was very detailed and explained everything that would be done and how much it would cost. He was honest and straight with his estimate. Because I had an active leak, he was able to get a crew to my house within a couple days to temporarily fix the leak until the roof could be replaced.The crew that replaced my roof did a great job. They used high definition shingles (at no additional cost) to appease my home owners association. The job was done in just a day and a half, and that was because they had to replace some plywood. All members of the crew were friendly and answered any questions I had. I recommend Russell for any roofing job. They perform high quality work in a timely fashion.

Unfortunately, we initially hired another roofer to replace our roof because of leaking problems. That roofer's work was substandard, thus creating much worse problems than before. Then he completely disregarded our requests for help. We had no other option but to employ another roofer to replace the faulty work. Russell Roofing (Joe Hughes, the project manager and Gregg Grosso, foreman) came to our rescue. They provided excellent service, were responsive, knowledgeable and thorough--and they offer a life-time guarantee on the work. All the previous leaking problems have been resolved. The roofers were skilled, polite and tidied up each day. We weren't pleased to have to pay for two roof replacements in one year, but we are grateful that Russell Roofing did such an excellent job and continue to be available if ever needed.

Russell was great. They cam out multiple times to explain the work and make sure me were going to get the right materials for our job. The installed team was terrific Thorough, prompt, and very helpful they identified and helped make extra on site saving verses time and money the future. After the install I recieved a call to check in a thank you note. TOP NOTCH FROM START TO FINISH.

Their service and quality of work is top-knotch. They are not cheap, but in their case, you get what you pay for. We've used other roofers in the past and been dissappointed.

A pleasant young man came to give the quote and since other homeowners in our neighborhood have started replacing roofs I figured I might as well get a roof quote so I would have some idea of the cost even though I was not going to do the roof until a later date. He offered to take down an old satellite disk from the chimney left over from the prior owner. That was nice, I appreciated it. The skylight install was basically a non-event. They showed up and got the job done with no problems or issues. I don't recall the exact date but its been around two years since the work was done and it was definitely worth it. The new skylight does indeed save energy and the room does not get super hot any more. Of course I researched the skylight vendors on the Internet and that is how I found out about Russell Roofing which I also checked out on the Internet, mostly Google search results. At the time I was not aware of AngiesList but now I use it when checking out contractors.

I hired Russell Roofing to replace the flashing around one of the dormers on my slate roof and replace a downspout. Russell Roofing prides itself on the quality of the work. From an amateur's perspective they do appear to do good work and we haven't had a problem with any of the projects that they have completed. On the other hand, it's not easy to schedule them for a job. It took more than one month for them to come out and start the job, even though I was an existing customer. Their prices are on the high end, but in the end I think you get what you pay for. I would consider Russell Roofing for future jobs, but I would also get a second opinion due to their prices.

All work was done professionally and courteously. I was so pleased with the work that they did in 2010 on one part of my roof that I called them back in 2012 to replace a different section of the roof. I no longer worry when it rains. I trust the job Russell Roofing has done. They don't cut corners in the work that they do.

The project manager visited us to look at the area needing repair/rebuilding and to discuss options. Once we decided, they set a date a month or so in the future when work would begin. The workmen arrived on schedule and did the work, but several things were not satisfactory. We brought these to the attention of the project manager, and the following week the workmen returned and fixed all the problem areas.

Always showed up when promised. Took great care to protect inside of home. Very friendly, willing to explain why job needed to be done as I was greater than just walking skylight very professional.
