LIMEKILN HEARTH-PATIO INC

Description of Work: Our gas fireplace stopped turning on at the switch. We called LIMEKILN HEARTH-PATIO for service. Note that for YEARS, gas fireplaces were serviced for Limekiln Hearth under a subcontractor relationship with Brendan Flynn Gas Services (PO Box 65, Oreland, PA 19075). Brendan bought out Limekiln; when you call Limekiln, you are calling Brendan -- and this is who you want! I called on New Year's Eve (12/31/12) to make an appointment for service. Brendan answered the phone directly, and we agreed on a service date of today (1/3/13), arriving between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Brendan arrived at 10:30 a.m. in his well-equipped, neat truck; he was wearing a professional and clean uniform, and greeted me warmly. He went right to work, laying out a tarp over my marble hearth and wood floor -- disassembled the entire fireplace unit and found the culprit. A spider had apparently spun a web and laid eggs in the main burner tube leading to the burner. He cleaned it out, adjusted the ignitor for better ignition and adjusted the pilot assembly. He services the unit, cleaned the unit of dust and debris; he blew out the burner and pilot assembly and cleaned the logs and the fireplace glass. He replaced the embers, so now the unit burns more beautifully too. In all, he was in my home for 75 minutes, and the bill was a fair $145. He warranties his work, and invited me to call with any questions, concerns or problems. He gave me a detailed handwritten receipt, a business card, and left my home spotless with my fireplace burning a warm glow. I truly appreciate Brendan Flynn Gas Services' professionalism.
