+ -1 moreThey showed up on a Saturday morning without contacting me first to set up an appointment. Luckily, I was home. It's hard to find an "honest" roofer and these men WERE honest.They could have told me I needed major work (since I can't see the roof) but instead they told me that my roof was still in good condition. that I could do a resurfacing if I wanted but the roof would be fine for at least another year. I decided to schedule the resurfacing with them.
Description of Work: They checked my roof, did some basic maintenance, and discussed with me the current condition and what they would recommend for the future.

+ 1 moreFor the most part, things went pretty well. We were dealing with extreme hot temperatures and afternoon showers. There was a little confusion with the start dates; but they did start later in the week. For the most part, things were cleaned up everyday. However, we did find debris around the plants and on the deck. We brought this to their attention and it was resolved. I think that using tarps to collect the old roof and siding was not adequate. I believe a dumpster would have been a better option. Charlie was prompt for all scheduled meetings to discuss the work; and he was willing to address all my concerns. His workers came back to finish hanging the dangling wires; do some additional work on the garage roof; and some minor concerns with the siding. All in all, things were adequately addressed and we are happy with the final project.
Description of Work: removed existing roof, siding and gutters; installed a new roof, replaced the siding; and installed gutters with gutter guards. Also, removed and replaced roof on garage.

+ -1 moreVery well. The crew arrived promptly, worked for seven hours with short breaks and completed the job. I was especially pleased that they draped huge tarpaulins down the side of the house to protect the walls from damage - a first in my experience. We have had two gigantic cloud-bursts since then - one of them dumping over an inch of water in 20 minutes - and everything is dry as a bone in the attic. Charlie was polite and easy to understand, didn't try to upsell, and met the estimate. I'd use him again and recommend in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Removed two layers of old shingles from roof on one side of house (the other side was not leaking), removed and replaced 8 sheets of rotted plywood, re-shingled and converted both sides to ridge vent. Not a straightforward job, due to presence of chimney stack, tube light and attic power vent. In addition, one area was difficult to access due to a glass-roofed conservatory which could not be walked on and prevented a ladder being used at that point. All old shingles and plywood removed and site left broom-clean.

+ 0 moreCharlie was a pleasure to work with, a friendly, courteous man. He was always very responsive to calls and showed up when he said he would. He seemed very knowledgeable and offered alternatives to keep costs down and achieve our goal of venting the house and the house has been much more comfortable since he made the repairs. His crew completed the work in one day. They did a nice job of cleaning up the mess, including the nails. His price was very reasonable based on other estimates we had received.
Description of Work: We needed a new roof, which required removal of two existing layers of shingles, all new plywood and fascia boards.

Charlie came out on time and provided us with an estimate that was lower than other estimates we had received. We found Catalfano brothers on Angie's list and decided to hire them. They showed up on time to start the job and finished in one day. The roof looks great, my wife is happy and I would recommend them to anyone.

+ 0 morei initially called to have my gutters cleaned. When Jim checked the roof and the gutters, there was nothing there except a few nails so there was nothing to clean. He asked me if i had any problems. I said i had a leak coming from my shed roof. He took a look at it and said he knew where the leak was coming from. Jim quoted me a price and said he would be back on saturday to make the repair. I hope the leak that no one has been able to repair is fixed. I appreciate Jim returning just like he said to repair the leak.

The materials were then received and they started the new roof. They took a 20 minute lunch break and worked until about 2030 hrs. The finishing touches were done the next day. I am very happy.

He cleaned the gutters for free since I was still within my warranty. They were honest, they told me that I wouldn't have to replace the roof, and that I could repair it instead.

+ -1 moreI was happy with the way the job was completed , and think Catalfano,s were the only ones that could have done it.
Description of Work: I contacted Catalfano Bros because of good ratings and they were Certain-Teed expert installers. The problem I had was from a very poor installation by another contractor, it had devoleped leaks into the indoors, after only several years.The siding had so many problems that it just had to be removed and redone again.They tried to reuse as much of the original siding as possible,as that color was no longer available.They were able to find some new in stock,and had to travel to get it ,but it was still not enough to do the whole job with new.Siding was carefully removed and labeled,about 95%was able to be reused ,the rest was changed from the front ,which got the new siding. Wood was added to the walls ,sills were rebuilt and capped ,ice and water-shield was put up and Tyvek ,and one by one the leaks were stopped. This took a while as we missed several days per week from rain ,they came back to work every time it could be done. So while the job took longer than the original estimate ,the job was finished very well.

I have had to have further roof work done, which might have been cheaper had he suggested it before the siding. So it wasn't perfect , but I did like the guy, he cleaned up and for the price he came through with, I had to let some stuff slide. I would hire him again.
