Description of Work: We have had Terminex service for many years. Their service has always been excellent. We live in deep woods and have Terminex spray our exterior perimeter and basement to prevent ants and other insects from entering our home. They also strategically place mouse traps, but our house cats take care of most of those occasional invaders! We hire them for yearly service. My only problem with Terminex is that they try to sell us other services and don't always take "No thank you" until it becomes "NO!!!"

Description of Work: We had the carpenter ant, ghost spider, general insects treatment done. Did inside the house, outside the house and around the yard.

Description of Work: September of 2011 my wife thought that there may have been a problem with bed bugs. We contacted Terminix whom we have a contract with for termite inspections. The inspector came out and inspected the bed room. He did not see any activity but was certain that it was bed bugs. The inspector took with him a bug which was in a wooden puzzle to have an entomologist identify. I asked the inspector what course of action we should take to ensure that the bugs are eliminated. The inspector told me that one of the options was to get rid of the furniture as well as having the room treated. I paid Terminix with a check and waited for Terminix to call. They never called me back. In the mean time I did some research on my own and determined that the bug that the inspector took with him was a "book louse" NOT a bed bug. A technician came to the house to service the problem. The tech said that he saw NO signs of any bed bug problem. He contacted his office to find out what the "entomologist" found, because the tech found nothing. My wife could hear the conversation in which they discussed what to do and the person who the tech was talking to said that they could offer a refund. However the tech made a few more calls and then came to the conclusion that the entomologist did identify the insect as a bed bug. The tech serviced the room anyway and said that Terminix would return after two weeks to do a follow up service. They never called and never came back. I waited a while and still no return. I called a number of times to find out what was going on. Every time I called I got someone who would tell me that a manager would call me back. I never heard from Terminix. I called a few more times and got a manager, and was told that he would refund me for the service which was never provided and the special covers for the mattresses that were paid for but never delivered. My wife had been so upset over the events that she took the inspectors advice and threw away my daughters beds and removed the carpet in the bed room. I waited a few months for the refund which never came and decided to call and find out what the status was. Again, no one would return calls until 3-1-2012 when a manager called me and we discussed what happened. She told me that Terminix did NOT have an entomologist and that nobody from Terminix would have told anyone to throw away furniture. She told me that Terminix would not refund me because I never returned phone calls. I never got any calls from Terminix to set up follow-up service. I use a cell phone so if they did call I would have gotten the voicemail. I was in the room with my wife at the time the inspector told us of our options. I know what I heard! Also, the previous manager whom I talked to told me that I would be refunded... I have not had a good experience with Terminix. I feel that I have given them the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time to make right on the contract which I paid for in good faith. I have been stone walled and have no success in getting a return call from the management.
