Thermo Twin Windows

Quote started at $18,900.00. They gave a "best and final" quote if we went with them on the spot, $13,797. We didn't and later received a lower quote on the phone. They definitely follow up with phone calls. Got them down to $12,700. They said it was because we were repeat customers, yet they were still the highest of 4 quotes for door replacement. (We used them in the past to replace all windows and 2 doors in a previous house and they did a fine job. The work was done before we were living in the previous house). If you do go with them negotiate, negotiate, negotiate!! We chose another, cheaper, company this time around.

I am planning on purchasing 8 windows for my home, and I called Thermo-Twin. Big Mistake! The salesman they sent was the most arrogant man I ever met. I want wooden windows, and he told me I didn't. He knew what kind of windows I should buy since he has been in the business 37 years. He brought catalogs of their factory and praised the company. He brought a 4"x6" piece of glass and told me several times he had a window in his car, but he never brought it in. He kept showing me picture of homes where he sold them vinyl windows. And when I questioned him about something, he seemed annoyed that I would question him. I never met anyone so obnoxious. He was in my home for over an hour and gave me a price, but said he would give me a 23% discount if I signed that day. I told him I would not sign that day since I was still shopping. He became annoyed again, then suggested they replace my 2 large picture windows, and if I was happy with them, they would install the rest. Absolutely not, since they all have to match! Then he asked him what he had to do to get me sign that day. Again I told him that I was not signing that day. He wouldn't get off the chair, so I walked to the door and opened it for him. It was the worst experience I ever had dealing with a salesman. Then 2 days later the manager of Thero-Twin called about the sales call. I told her the salesman was obnoxious and I kicked him out. She said they didn't do business that way and she would send another salesman. I told her I wasn't interested since I was completely turned off on Thermo-Twin. She said she would reduce the price 25% and would send another man the next day. When I asked her if she expected me to sign the next day, she said "Yes". When I told her I had no intention of signing immediately, she said she would "pass on the offer". I told her I would also pass on Therno-Twin. Worst Company I ever dealt with.

It was very good. I like that they are good windows so far. They were professional and we worked quickly. The windows are double-hung windows. When you open them and then go to close them again the top window tends to slide down a little and therefore to close and lock it you have to reach up and push the top part further. It's an installation issue rather than the windows.

I contacted the manufacturer (Grand Openings) who happen to be former employees of Thermo Twin. They came to my house the next day to see the shattered glass. They gave me estimates on glass replacement and door replacement. I chose glass replacement and they took the door, replaced the glass and did a great job. I was very disappointed in the lack of customer service from Thermo Twin.

The salesman was prompt, courteous and not hard sell at all. The price turned out to be very much under what we had figured the cost would be. The company sent a crew to double check measurements and do an asbestos test. The installation crew showed up on time and did a great job installing the 6 windows. They took out the old ones and took them away. they installed the new ones and cleaned up thoroughly. They showed us how to operate and clean the window. Theu were in at 8:15 and done by 2:30....very professional and personable.

Professional, timely, good quality windows Ordered a large bow window from them in 1995 and they were easy to deal with and quick to respond to any issue with that window. Shortly after this install had a few minor issues and they were out and finished the job.

We interviewed 3 seperate window companies, Window World, Superior Windows and Thermo Twin to have new replacement windows put in our home. It was clear that Thermo Twin was the best choice of the three, because their product was superior to the other two window companies, (Superior Windows coming in a very close second) but, nearly chose another company because of the salesman (who made numerous -and unnecessarily- rude comments to us during the decision process). All the other contacts in the company, (including the head sales person, the one to whom our salesman reported) were kind and courteous, as well as were all the workers. The actual removal and installation of the windows all went well, and the product is truly superior. The men who installed the windows were great! And the clean-up was everything one would hope for after such expansive, messy work. We highly recommend this company and their product. Actually, if it weren't for the salesman, I could/would have given this company 100% rating

We installed 20 new windows and screens, and a 4 seasons room. From the salesman, to the office people, and esp. the installers, everything was done above and beyond what I would have expected. We would recommend them to our friends and family.

Windows are just OK. Install was lousy. When removing the old windows the installer was "pounding" out the frame instead of cutting it out and broke my marble window seal. They replaced it with a used chipped window seal. This must have been the first time the installer used a silicon product to seal the window inside and out because he did a very poor lousy job. When washing the windows I observed holes in the siding that were not filled and or covered with new aluminum leaving openings for insects to get into. Very disappointed that they were so eager to make the sale that no one called to follow-up to find out if I was a satisfied customer. I explained to the salesman that "it is all about the installation" and he assured me "look . . . we have been doing this for so long that we do it right the first time" Well folks it IS about the install and for this reason I would not use this company again.

Windows started failing within 2 years and continued to fail over the next 10 years. Seal between glass and frame failed and water got in and rotted wood on the inside. Inside wood should never have seen water--bad design of window. For rhe first 10 years, winows were replaced at the cost of $50, according to the warranty. But we still had to repaint the wood. After10 years, they read us the warranty which said that damage to the wood was not covered, even though it was their design flaw which caused the damage. We are replacing all the windows with Pella. Windows should last longer than 10 years.

Salesperson I met with was very knowledgable and answered all of my questions. he took me to their showroom and showed me the different window styles and the various options for each type of window. He made suggestions based on my needs and offered options for me to choose from. Best thing was is that it was NOT a pressure sell or always trying upsell me on something I didn't need/want. Even though Thermotwin was not doing the installation, I was still treated professionally. In fact, my windows were ready in advance of the delivery date that they gave me. I am planning to redo our sunroom this year and will be using Thermotwin again. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a good quality window.

They are less expensive than Metropolitan which is why I thought that I'll try them. They did nice work and I can't complain about that. When my husband told me that they weren't well insulated so when I had to had the rest of the windows done, I called Metropolitan and they were the one who finished them. The work was fine, the windows probably are not as good as the ones with Metropolitan but they are not bad. I had no complaints about them and I never had to call them back for anything. When I close the windows that wind, they are not as much suction in there than there is in the ones that I had from Metropolitan.

The installers were extremely professional. They arrived at the exact time we were told. The windows were installed quickly, the house barely had time to get cold & there was absolutely no mess!

Replacement windows. Outside trim , caulk and remove old windows and debris. | |There were two men and they worked fast with very little inconvience. Because I am handicapped , I asked them to help me move furniture and they put back up the blinds.

Own company can't find out why their window isn't insulated?! I'm it mega $$$$.

I Love my New Window !!! We Visited the showroom and found what we were looking for.. My husband had already measured for our Window and there was going to be a salesman in the area that evening.. So he stopped by... (Very Professional) We purchased the window, He measured again..and he gave us an installation date... about a week before installation... they came out to the house and checked to make sure everything was good to go for install and measured yet again... they guys showed up on time to install and they did a fantastic job!! My husband and I were very pleased with the work they did... all in all we are very happy with this company from start to finish... Thank you Thermo Twin!!

First of all, the salesman did not pressure me at all. They were friendly, helpful and courteous. The installation was on time, the workmen were courteous and quick. They cleaned up their mess, and in short, they were a perfect installation team. I have no quarrel with their professionalism or integrity. The problem is, the windows are garbage. They are double-paned, with low-E coating and the gas in between the panes to help with energy efficiency. The construction of them, however, is not good. Their cold air in the winter time pours in like the window is open. I keep trying to find where the air leak could be, and I can't find a thing wrong. I have to conclude that it must be an issue with the design and construction. They look great, they just don't function as represented.

They did very good work and were very satisfied. They were professional and always did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

It went really well. It was just two men that came. They were very efficient. They took out all the windows upstairs at one time and put the new ones in. It took them two days. They were really good. I don’t really have any complaints. They cleaned up after themselves. They were just very polite. He quoted us one price. Then we told him that it wasn’t in our ballpark. He actually came down to the price that we wanted. So that was pretty nice. I thought that the price was great. With regard to responsiveness, they were great. He came out, talked to us and gave us the price. He told us what all we had to take down. It was good; they explained everything. We picked them because my brother-in-law also used them and didn’t have anything bad to say about them. It was a few years ago that he used them.

Two installers arrived at the time scheduled. They worked quickly and neatly and were very professional and considerate. Upon completion of the job the rooms they cleaned up as if they were not even here. They completed the work in one day which was great.

My daughter had some windows put in by them and they were satisfied. They remembered my daughter and said they would send out the same crew. The helper had been working for Walmart and had been working for them for 6 months and came out. He put a window in a I thought it looked wrong. He had already started to caulk it and it turned out it was the wrong window (after I told the other guy to look at it).The caulking was horrible. My daughter was appalled. I told them I was disgusted with it and I wanted it to be repaired. I said I had a leak after the windows were put in. They said it could not be from the windows. After they fixed the caulking, it was not leaking.

The entire experience went very well. We had been looking at windows for months and had several bad experiences with other dealers. The Thermo Twin salesmen arrived on time, measured the windows and produced a firm quote within an hour. We had another dealer's salesman arrive later that evening who produced a quote one month to the day later. The Thermo Twin salesmen was very knowledgable about the windows. He suggested that we tour the factory and showroom located in the next community before signing the contract. We did so and were impressed by the operation. The windows were manufactured , delivered and installed within the time frame promised. We were very pleased with the installation which took two days. The crew did a great job and left our house as clean or cleaner than they found it. We intend to buy more windows from ThermoTwin in the future and would recommend them to others.

We are purchasing a new home and wanted quotes for new windows (the property is a foreclosure and we wanted to know how much we would need to invest. I've had quotes from several other local installers, but Thermotwin was the only installer to refuse to quote the job. The rep stated that it is "Illegal to price a job for a house for someone who is not the owner." I found this a bit odd, as no one else said this. I also wasn't authorizing an install, just asking for a quote. I did state that my realtor would let us into the property. When I mentioned that no other vendor had made this assertion, I was assured they those contractors were not honest and that Thermo-twin stands by the law. I'm not certain of laws pertaining to estimating work on a house not yet purchased, so perhaps they are right. If so, it would be impossible for anyone to get required documentation for an FHA 203k loan or a Homepath REnovation loan through Fannie Mae, both of which require contractor estimates prior to closing. The rep offered to call back after our closing date. That's fine, and if I have not chosen someone before then, I may entertain it I would also mention that I made requests for quotes online and via phone. My email was retunred two days later; my phone call was directed to a voicemail box that was full

Install crew was good, fast, and clean. Went well. Windows look great. I like that they are a local employee owned company. I'm looking forward to getting the other two thirds of my house windows implemented in the next couple years.

They're terrific. They did the windows for the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building so they're well known. It was well worth the price because one window wound up being 4x8 because it's an older house and the windows are all big and double-hung. I don't know how they did it but, they took out the old windows and put in the new ones and you couldn't tell that the work had been done because it looked like the windows had been there the whole time. The workers were very courteous, professional and prompt. I was stunned by how efficiently and quickly it was done. It was interesting to come home from work and find my windows done. There's also a lifetime guarantee.
