Very nice people ro deal with, met them at a home show in King of Prussia PA. The planning of the job was the best part of the experience - we originally were interested in a new roof, but because of their attitude and because of the interactive nature of the job planning, we quickly expanded the scope of the home remodel to include new windows, doors, fornt porch, gutters, and landscaping. A good bit of the actual work was subbed out, and the workers were consistently capable and pleasant to deal with. We got the idea that the company had over-extended itself a little, in that sometimes the work schedule slid a little - but not enough to make us unhappy with our decision to hire the company. The price obvioisly grew a sour project did, but the company worked with us as we balanced cost and quality. I think we got a real bargain for how much the apearance and quality of our house was improved. The one unfortuante note is that shortly after our job was done, the company went out of business. I think it was just a choice they made, as the partners went back to the work they did before they formed Family Exteriors. Fortunately the quality of the work has lasted and we have not required any follow-up work, but I have not been able to contact anyone associated with the company since shortly after the job was done.

My roof leaks and they won't honor their warranty. They subcontracted Steve Kirk, who contracted others to do the work. None of Mike Shelly, Shawn Reid, or Steve Kirk ever managed the quality of the work. They installed over the winter. In Spring I had multiple leaks. The Divinci slate was not installed correctly. The cut the slates on the edge of the roof exposing that they were plastic immitations of slate. So it made it obvious that it was an immitation plastic roof, not rel slate. Water damage from a vent caused $4,000 damage to my bathroom. I paid another roofer $3,000 to fix multiple leaks when none of Mike Shelly, Shawn Reid, or Steve Kirk would come out to fix it. Facia capping was incorrectly installed, such that water would accumulate behind it rather than being repelled by the capping. Shelly and Reid kept promising to pay for the repair of the leaks and incorrect installation, but never did. Last I heard from them, Reid said other people that were dealing with him were getting pennies on the dollars they owed them. Steve Kirk has never come back or responded again. Shelly won't accept mail sent to him. Last night during hurricane Irene there were still minor leaks around the skylight in my family room. I guess a hurricane is a great test. Oh, the new roof failed the test.
Description of Work: Hired to replace entire roof over house, garage, porch, shop, and overhangs. Paid to use Divinci Slate on the house and GAP asphalt on other areas. All old roofing was to be removed, rotted wood replaced, new roofing and facia put on and capping on the facia.

it was terrible. They didn't return my phone calls. It took them about six months to start the project and another two months to finish it. They actually transferred over to another company. I still have not received an invoice from them. I have not been able to get a hold of them. When I went to their office it was boarded up, so I don't know what happened to them.
Description of Work: I used them for roofing services.

Excellent work, excellent crew. Because we installed in winter, I was originally concerned with some of the shingles. The rood looked a bit wavy--I expressed my concerns and the foreman explained the issue to me, and then made sure I was comfortable with the explanation. I was assured that, should I still have any concerns, come spring, they would work to fix the problem. HEre it is springtime, and the roof has settled out. With the record snowfalls we had, I am so happy to have been snug inside with my new roof protecting me overhead. 3-4 person crew worked all day, with very few breaks. Job was completed in 1.5 days, as expected. The crew left me with a stack of extra shingles and roof vent shingles should I ever need to repair. They were courteous, on time and did a terrific job. highly recommend them!
