Closets Together

They had to remove existing shelves prior to installing the new closet system. They removed the shelves leaving the scars on the walls exposed and then installed their closet system right over it. Unfortunately, the system has no rear wall so the scarred walls show right through. There is a long and fairly wide strip of torn wall that's visible in the master closet and two of them in the walk-in. The new closet system seems quite nice and I'm sure they did a fine job installing it. We wish they had stopped working and allowed us to paint prior to continuing. We now have to have a professional painter come and try to squeeze spackling paste and paint into these tight crevices and areas where the new closet system is pushed right up to the edge of the damaged walls. I reached out to the scheduling person, then the sales rep and finally to the owner who was perfectly nice about it, just not helpful at all. He hooked us up with a handyman who was going to paint but he made it much worse. The owner didn't even want to pay the $120 to have the guy come out. Now we're going to have a professional painter do it and probably pay hundreds of dollars to make the closets look decent again. We regret having Closets Together do the work, we would have been better off going with a more established custom closets company with a longer track record. This is their first Angie's List review after all. We met the salesperson at the Philly home show and she was very nice, so we figured what the heck. It was a mistake and one that we're paying for and will continue to pay for. Haven't been able to use our closets in 10 days, all our stuff is all over the guest room bed and floors. Totally awful experience.
