I was very pleased with the entire experience. When I first called the company the owner, John, answered the phone. He came to the house about a day later and gave us an estimate. On the day that the work was done John came with two men and instructed them what work needed to be done. The men were very good workers and did a great job. The also did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves. I would use this company again and will recommend them to friends and family.

I gathered several estimates for tree damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy. John Pell was quick to respond and provided a competitive estimate. Also, I was concerned about how the limbs were dangling over a public sidewalk and power lines and wanted to get them safely removed ASAP, John was able to get his crew to my house a week earlier than the other tree services I received estimates from. All in all John Pell was a pleasure to do business with; personable and professional. The work was done exactly as promised and all the debris was cleaned up and hauled away. I would definitely use Pells' again.

John Pell responded quickly to my inquiry regarding taking down a partially broken tree limb on our property that was hanging precariously over the electrical wires connected to our house. We had several bids to do the work, and Pell's came in with the best price to do the job. His men were here within a few days, and carefully and completely removed the limb and some additional lower branches that were hanging over the house. The work was done quickly, but carefully, and in addition I saw the men blowing the debris off our driveway leaving it completely clean, which was something I didn't expect them to do. Everything was handled very well, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone should they need tree work.

We had set jobs for a french drain, walk way construction, and demolish/construction of a large retaining wall. The proposal they gave was the most detailed and specific as to how they would approach it, materials used, and timetable. Their price was the lowest offered and the general plans the most logical. They did exactly what was proposed for the price established. This is a first rate firm and we would recommend them without reservation. We have used them four times so far and have never found a firm that came close to what was needed.

John is a very professional and responsive business owner. He came out for an estimate promptly and was competitively priced. There were some problems with last minute schedule changes, but the work was done well and they tended to all of our requests. When we mentioned one area wasn't cleared, he sent his guys right back out to take care of it. We will definitely keep him in mind for future work.

Several tree service companys were called and John Pell was the only one to answer his phone. Understandable, given the mess caused by Sandy....but still. He showed up exactly when he said he would come and gave us an estimate. Many other companies who got back to us days later would not do that...they wanted to show up with their crew, give us a price and do the work. Bottem line.....punctual, professional and priced right.

Estimate for work, clarification of contract, and completion of work (in one day) were all done professionally and in a normal time frame. John responded to all calls and e-mails prior to the work date and had the actual work done by two professional workers. You may pay a bit more for the quality work of an arborist and crew, but it is worth it. Everything was cleaned up at the end of the day and all work was done according to our agreement.

Great, trees look great. Do not leave anything behind. Clean up was great. Great service.

This is the third time I have used Pell's for tree service on my property. I chose them for the first job in 2011 after obtaining estimates from four tree companies. They were not the most or least expensive out of the estimates, but their knowledge and approach to maintaining the old trees on my property were very appealing. I had also seen their work at my neighbor's house. After a recent large storm, I again contacted John Pell and despite being extremely busy with many storm calls he was very prompt in responding. The crew does the work as promised and does an excellent job of cleaning up the debris. I would not hesitate to call them again for tree services. I have an old oak tree on my property that is diseased, but not dead. Pell's understands that my goal is to maintain the healthy part of the tree as long as possible to keep the shade it provides for my home.

I was very pleased with the service this company provided. John came to my home in the evening to work around my schedule, which I really appreciated. We walked the entire grounds, I told him what I wanted done and he was very knowledgeable and had some suggestions that were very helpful, most of which I wouldn't have thought of. He was very professional, sent me a written estimate, stuck to that estimate, communicated throughout the process, even emailing me a picture of the proposed plantings while I was at work for my approval before they were actually planted. I really couldn't be happier. Unlike another reviewer, I felt his prices were very fair for the amount of work done. I would recommend this company highly and would definitely use them again.

We did not use them because their price was too high. However, they were professional and prompt. They did explain everything effectively and gave an estimate.

They are a good company. John is a good guy and makes sure everything is done to my satisfaction. He will go back and adjust it himself if it is not. John always takes care of it. They always did what I asked them to do. Their prices are competitive and maybe even a little under than other companies.
