Pell Tree Company

Excellent. Jose and Daniel treated my property with respect. No leftover branches. No sawdust laying around. Everything chipped and the stumps taken away. Lawn raked of small twigs. They actually left the place cleaner than they found it! The taking down of the trees themselves was done carefully, with nothing hitting the electrical lines, phone lines, or cable TV lines that they were around. They were real "tree surgeons". John Pell was super professional. Came out the same day I called him for an estimate. Provided a written estimate that day. Provided the necessary insurance certificates and came on time ready to work. He went over the work with his crew and myself before they began, and stopped back to check on their progress during the day.

It was a good experience. We live in a wooded yard. It was expensive, I don?t remember exactly how much it was. To remove the one tree, which was very large and had 3 trunks, that was $1,200. The other work was around 3,200 at least. It was a lot of work and it is a difficult property. I did get a quote from quite a few places. They had a certified arborist, who came out and evaluated. Their pricing wasn?t the best, but that impressed me and the thoroughness of their evaluation. I had like 6 companies come out. Everybody seemed to have a different opinion. Some of it was just my instincts of who was looking at it the best. Then some of them also wanted to be directed verses telling me what needed to be done. The guys that showed up were so quick and they cleaned up so much. It was so impressive.

They trimmed all of the trees that were touching my roof or were close to it.

Came out quickly to look at the job and provide a price. Job was ultimately done by another vendor for less than $1300.

They were excellent. They saved the tree with injections and also treated the bush as well. Their prices were very reasonable and they were very effective. Jason was the representative and was very friendly, professional and couldn't be nicer. I would highly recommend them.

It went really well. Jason and I spent a lot of time walking around looking at my trees to assess them. The men came out to do the work and did a great job.

Everything went very well, including: great communication; respectful workers who arrived on time and were very careful with the small plants, and a reasonable price to complete the work. I would definitely work with them in the future.

The crew of 2 workers and a supervisor arrived on time and started immediately. They worked efficiently and cleaned up the yard well. There was a problem when the head of the pruning pole broke. There was a replacement head in the truck; however, the crew had no tools. Luckily my husband was home and provided the necessary tools to replace the head and reattach the heavy spring - and he also helped with the repair. The repair took approx. 30-40 minutes. When we received the final bill, it included removing a magnolia tree. We don't have a magnolia tree. I called the company and the owner said since the job ran longer than estimated, they had to charge more. He said the crew was late for their next job. I sent an email to the company stating that the invoice was not correct and that we wanted a new invoice reflecting the amount agreed upon. I also mentioned that, if my husband had not been home and had not provided his own tools, the crew would not have been able to complete the job at our house or go to the next job. We received a corrected invoice and it was paid promptly.

Kris was very responsive and had a representative come quickly and review the work to be done to work up a quote. This tree was very unruly (probably never had been trimmed) and they trimmed it back from the house and cut out all the dead wood. Due to weather, the work was not performed until Jan but Pell did a great job! They worked with our schedule and the tree looks great!

From communication with the main office to the day of the tree removal, everything was very professional. The owner of the company was at the job to make sure everything went smoothly. I was very happy with the service and would definitely use them again in the future. I highly recommend this company.

It went great. They arrived on time and performed their work with little hassle. They had to take apart part of my fence to do their work and they actually put it back in better condition than it was when they arrived. I strongly recommend them for any tree work needed.

After conversations with the staff at Pell Tree Company, it was determined that the unresponsiveness to attend to our request was due to an internal technical issue with Angie's List not communicating to the Pell Tree Company the status of the work. Although the refund has not yet been received, the rating was changed to reflect the professionalism of Pell Tree that provided concerned follow-up calls. We will certainly use them again.

The crew was very professional and very nice. They did everything that was agreed upon and a little extra. I would use their services again in the future.

I give honest reviews and don't just give all A's if the job went well enough. I believe people trust reviews so I give much thought to the scores I give. Not receiving an "A" for every category doesn't mean I have a complaint. Anyway, Two Pell workers showed up on time, but because they didn't speak English they had to wait for someone to arrive who could interpret for them. The pruning itself went pretty well and they did a good job cleaning up all the debris afterwards. At the time of the estimate I had asked about pruning these trees back farther so they wouldn't need to be pruned again for a few years, but that's not exactly what I got. I guess that's my fault because I had assumed the workers knew all the details before they arrived, and I didn't complain when they did a little less than I expected. But the trees were well pruned and will no longer be a risk for falling into our home this winter in a storm. My advice to anyone having tree work done... Tell the workers who actually do the work exactly what you want done when they arrive. Don't just assume the estimator relayed all the details to the workers. Don't be shy like I was.

They scheduled an appointment to do an estimate. Were on time for the estimate and provided a written emailed estimate promptly. Price was good. Scheduled work. Advised of rain delay. Came on next good weather day. Did a great job. Left property, driveway, etc...clean and neat. Billing process was professional: billed promptly, coupon accepted graciously with no games. Overall opinion: these are great people to work with!

the work itself was good. But my mother was actual inside the house when the workers came (but i guess they didn't know that she was there).. she told me that workers lay down on my driveway underneath the tree that they were supposed to trim for a really long time and it looked like they took a nap there before starting the job. they also urinated behind my back shed before leaving my property. My mother didn't say or do anything, but she told me all about this upon my return. I guess none of this was such a big deal, but it was simply wired, especially the napping part.

Great job. The price especially with the coupon was worth it ($250 for $500 worth of work). They were quick to answer my questions as well as adjust their proposal to include clarity around what service they would actually be providing. The day of the job they worked efficiently and delivered on what they quoted their work to be.

Pell's did a great job. They were quick to respond to messages, showed up a few days sooner than originally scheduled and worked efficiently. They removed the tree and took care of the stump all on the same day. Most tree removals take place in two stages with the stump grinding taking place a few days later.

We had a huge oak tree (detail above) within 5 ft of the back of our house. Nearly every other tree removal company (including the big guys) said they could NOT get a crane in our driveway to remove from the side, and would therefore need to remove the tree from the street in front of our house (much more extensive/expensive project). -John met me at house and talked through the job - thought he could get a crane in driveway (I was hesitant but his crew made me a believer) -His crew came on the day they were supposed to, got the crane in the driveway with little issue, and removed the tree and performed all the other tasks listed on my quote in one day -His crew worked hard for several hours in order to get the job done in one day (as promised) -I was skeptical that the job could be done (was nervous it would prove to difficult and they'd want more money) - but he kept all his promises and I couldn't be happier about our experience. -In short, it just seemed like John Pell is willing to hustle a little harder than the big guys and his company's scrapper mentality mixed with their obvious expertise give them a unique advantage over his competition.

Scheduled for today on Tuesday and were supposed to show up and then called me on the day they were scheduled and said that they were tied up from a job last night and made no attempt to reschedule and told me they had no idea when they could come out. I took a day off work for this service to be completed.

The person arrived late after calling them several times. He rushed through all I wanted done and said he would get back to me with a quote. That was the last I heard from them. Its great they have so much business they can afford to blow off a several thousand job but, that's what they did.
