Cut limbs carefully and chipped. Three men worked four hours and did a fine job. Recommended.

The work was fine. I went together with my neighbor to get a tree removed that was on his property as it was shading my property. They were careful not to damage any of the garden that I had planted. They did well in working around that. They had to take down the fence and put it back up and they did a fine job with that as well.

It worked out wonderfully. They came in and did a phenomenal job. They cleaned up after themselves, you would not know they were here and they did a very good job to make sure that they didn't leave a footprint.

It went very well. I can see why they got the service award. The office worker, Stephanie, was very nice and helpful as was John, the owner, is helpful. The workers were very good and left a very neat workspace. The price was reasonable.

Overall experience was very good. Arrived on time. Performed well at a fair price. Left area free of debris. Would recommend this provider and use Pell's again.

I think the crew that was sent were courteous. They did a good job. They completed the work that needed to be done. It was a very hot day and they really worked hard. The owner gave us an estimate which was reasonable for the work that had to be done. He came out the morning with the crew and kind of introduced the crew and reviewed what they had to do and then he came back to check on them in the afternoon. There was follow-up and everything. The person that works in the office is very courteous. It was just a good experience with them.

John came out and provided a free estimate for tree work. He was very courteous and professional. His office sent me the contract which I signed. Work was scheduled. I had to reschedule due to problems that came about on my end. He was very understanding and told me to call when I was ready. Then several months later we were able to proceed. We called and scheduled. On the day of tree service, he and 2 of his employees arrived to do the work. John instructed them on exactly what was to be done and the tree was taken down by his employees (Daniel and Joe) with no problems. His employees very also very courteous and polite. I would definitely use this company again and I highly recommend their tree service.

Pell's service was great to work with. They were always responsive either by phone or email. We had purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for tree removal service. Within a few weeks of purchasing the deal we contacted Pell's by phone to schedule a walk-through for having 3 of our trees removed and for having our Willow Tree trimmed of it's dead branches. Pell's Landscaping came later in the week after we called and did a site survey. We had a quote the next day after the site survey. We scheduled the removal a few weeks after the quote came in due to Pell's schedule being full for the time being. After a few ultra hot days the removal service was rescheduled a few times and on 7/26 everything lined up weather and schedule wise and the service was performed. All of the tree's we needed removed were gone and were ground down. The Willow Tree was trimmed back even more than we had expected and looks vibrant again. Very clean service. If it wasn't for the fact that there was mulch where the trees were we would have never known they were there.

Received a much lower price from local provider

On his initial visit, John Pell talked with me at considerable length about the work that would be needed, on a large scale, to bring the property to the condition I wanted. I told him that my initial effort would be limited to the amount of the $250-for-$500-worth-of-time that I'd purchased. Given the hourly rate for his 3-man crew, I chose two trees that needed to come down, and was given an estimate of $400 for the work. We agreed that the final $100 would be used to do smaller things that would be chosen. Despite terrible heat, his team worked quickly. I left them working, and returned to find the jobs complete and the areas cleaned. Their work was entirely satisfactory. Mr. Pell's office representative, Stefanie, was very helpful; making it easier to complete the project. I hope to be able to call on his team for additional work, since he now knows what the property needs.

We took advantage of the "Big Deal" special Angie's list was offering. The office staff and owner at Pell's Landscaping were both polite and professional and responded to our needs right away. Phone calls were answered or returned and an estimate was provided within a couple of days with the work being completed a couple weeks later. We needed to have the trees trimmed to prevent possible storm damage and/or breakage due to high winds the summer months will bring. We were, however, hoping that the overgrown branches on the sides of the trees would have been neatly shaped. Thank you!!

The hardscape work is beautiful - quality job was done and it transformed the design of our back yard, in terms of entrance to our patio. As far as the softscaping and plantings, it was OK, but he did not always respect my opinion as the homeowner. We have made multiple changes to the landscaping over the years, and when a shrub died the first year, he blamed it on us. The pencil drawings he produced were amatuerish, and he wanted to charge me for a new drawing when we wanted to make a change - all I needed was an eraser. I would recommend for hardscape, but probably not for softscape.

I had selected Pell's to do some tree work based on a discount coupon on Angie's List. It was a great price and they took down the tree as promised.

We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for tree service to have the trees in our front yard evaluated, trimmed and a wayward tree that seems to have sprouted up near our house after reading all of the fantastic reviews. Pell's was very responsive to our initial request and we had a quote within days. We were able to secure a service date within two weeks, piggybacking on another job they had in our area (due to being a small job). Unfortunately the service date came and went - so we reached out. Pell's was very apologetic, explaining the recent rains was causing delays but we were on the list to be rescheduled and would hear from them 24 hours before the service. A week or so later, we still have not heard back so we called again and were told service would happen in the next two weekends. Those weekends came and went. We phoned again, this time speaking to John directly, and were scheduled for the end of the week. This also came and went so we phoned on Monday, received a call back on Tuesday, and finally received our service on Wednesday. The service itself was excellent - I noticed a big improvement in where our weeping cherry is near electrical lines and the wayward tree was gone. The crew had cleaned up exceptionally well and I'm pleased with the final result. It's very unfortunate that the scheduling portion of this service was so prolonged.

Their services were good. Everything was done in one day, which was great.

Good work, nice staff, clean job. Price seemed to be inflated to compensate for my coupon thereby nullifying the value.

Only requested an estimate. Estimate was quickly provided and fairly priced.

It went fine but I was not home

John's service was great. The teams that showed up were professional and they explained everything to my wife and were responsive to her questions. Our back yard is a large hill, which caused some delays in them getting equipment to the worksite, but they were courteous and professional in taking care of all the issues that arose. We were out of town the last day they worked and returned to see the yard completely cleared and cleaned up, and they got to even more of the underbrush and weeds in the corner of our yard than we had expected, which was a great surprise. John was also great when it came to working with us on what we saw as the final vision for our backyard and walking through the steps to get there. We will definitely look to use him for our future landscaping and hardscaping projects.

We were very happy with the services provided. The estimate they gave us were fair, and they stuck to it. An unexpected issue arose, and we were notified with a price, and it was taken care of immediatly.

I had a need to make the trees around our house more "storm proof" considering that the trees were getting much bigger. I got 5 estimates for the work. John's estimate was the second highest. However, what I liked about John was his passion when we went from tree to tree and discussed what was needed for each tree. He was the only one who discussed the importance of grading around the base of the trunk and also how exposed roots by the base is not healthy for the tree. His knowledge also helped clear out some of the misleading info I was getting from the other contractors. Funny thing is, these were the contractors who were at the lower end on the price scale. John's crew consisted of 3 ppl, with Rodney as the lead. They worked quickly as soon as they got to my house. It took about 4 hours to finish the job. The crew cleaned up nicely when they were done. The trees definitely looked much cleaner and less congested, which will help the wind pass through them easier. John was very easy to talk with and he was very prompt in returning calls. I would definitely use this company again.

Once the weather cooperated, Pell's was on the job on time a did a very good job. I was impressed with how clean they left the yard. I am having John give me a price to do some landscaping work.

Everybody at the company, the office manager, the owner, and the work crew were very professional. While looking for a tree care company at the List I saw that Pell's Landscape was offering a "big deal" and overall had very good reviews. I have contacted the office, and the owner / arborist John Pell called me back the same day and arranged the time to inspect the tree. Once at the property John called me again with his assessment of the tree. In addition to pruning he also recommended some improvement in the root area to keep the tree healthy. The office sent me estimates for each proposed item that same day. Since reviews were good, John acted like a true professional, and pruning estimate was very competitive even before the "big deal" savings, I have immediately hired him to do the pruning. (To be clear, $575 was the regular quote, but with the "$250 for $500" big deal my actual cost was only $325. Also his suggestions about the root area also make perfect sense, but that we can handle on our own.) On the day of the appointment, that had to be rescheduled one time because of a freak late March snowstorm, the work crew came on time and completed the work in about two hours. They left the area absolutely clean, leaving no single cut twig on the ground. If not for fresh stumps on the tree one would not be able to tell that the tree has just been pruned, All in all I'm glad that I found this company, and will definitely call them first with my plant care or landscaping needs.

He was much more competitive than other companies I looked at and went out of his way to please; I was very happy with him. There were some complications and it cost him more to correct their problems so that the trees were done right but he did not charge me a penny more. His work was very clean and he was courteous so I can't complain. Compared to everybody else, their price was reasonable. His price was very competitive and was at least 40-percent less than everybody else; there was a big difference and I appreciated that. He came and did his job. There was a week where he was personally sick so things slowed down a little bit; but that was not his fault and I totally understood. He came immediately when I had a problem; he called me back between 10 minutes to an hour later. He and his crew were at my house first thing in the morning and did their job.
