They were the only plumber available for “emergency” services on a Saturday. Everyone else was booked til the following Monday. Mike was pleasant and efficient. He explained what the issue was and was thorough in resolving it. I will be using their services in the future.

The service model for Montco Rooters is not customer-focused. Understanding they are primarily used in emergency situations, they use a clearly established pitch that consistently leaves customers feeling they were swindled. The pitch consists of coming out for a consultation and communicating a service fee for coming out- this initial part seems honest. However after providing an initial quote of $660 to unclog a drain, we politely declined and offered to pay the $80 fee. After declining, the service technician advised he would contact his manager to see if there was anything they could do. This appeared to be a rehearsed step in their pitch. The manager magically was able to lower the price to $450. He referred to the fact that we paid that price the last time we used them; howeverr our receipt for service from 2 years prior was with Roto Rooter, not Montco Rooter. It is unclear if he has access to that database. After agreeing to this price, my husband signed for service. Shortly after, the service technician returned and stated that he forgot to share that even if they were unable to resolve the clog, it would still be $399. My husband questioned the process of how far they would go to attempt to unclog and he stated they would attempt for 90 minutes. At that point, since he had already signed and we were hopeful that they would make a valid attempt to fix the issue, he agreed. After approximately 20 minutes and another phone call to his manager (we were not privy to that discussion but saw he was on the phone), the technician advised us that the pipe was broken. He would therefore be charging us $399 for what was essentially a consultation. My husband advised that respectfully we would like to get a second opinion since the technician did not seem knowledgeable based on his lack of information shared with us during the exchange and the fact that he had to call his manager multiple times during the visit. We agreed to pay the $80 consultation fee currently and if our second opinion confirmed a broken pipe, we would pay the additional funds. He again called his manager, who informed us that we signed the agreement to pay $399 after already knowing they may not be able to resolve our issue. My husband explained that technically he had forgotten to share that until after he signed for $450 to fix the issue. The manager was adamant that we would not be paying $80 today. We would be providing a credit card for $399 or he would ruin our credit by reporting us to collections. As we were uncomfortable with this bullying tactic and both have excellent credit, my husband replied Do what you have to do and handed the phone back to the young technician. He left without leaving any bill with us. We did have a second opinion, from a plumber who asked much more knowledgeable questions upfront, and after evaluating the situation also shared that our pipe was most likely broken. He charged us $75 for that service call. We have since received documentation from a collections agency demanding the $399 which I will pay as promised. I realize this has been a lengthy rendition of the series of events when ultimately the diagnosis was correct; however I felt it was my due diligence as a customer to share that if you are looking for a knowledgeable and honest plumber, you should look elsewhere. Montco Rooters has a business model where they send out young, inexperienced technicians who are forced to interact face to face with stressed customers while the manager issues out threats behind the safety of his phone. I am sorry to the technician who was in an uncomfortable situation that day. I realize it is hard to get a start and unfortunately your manager/owner takes advantage of you. To all other customers, I strongly advise using a different company for emergency and plumbing services. Our past experience with Roto Rooter was good- just not Montco Rooter.

The cost for the repair was extremely high. We were chared $600/hour for labor which is way too high. We were also not told in advance that there would be a $209 charge to diagnose the problem in addition to the hourly labor cost. I felt lied to and will not use your services again.

This company came out twice to install our new water line. They were kind and courteous and answered all of my questions to make sure I knew and understood the process and plan. They did a great job!

Excellent. Experienced plumber found out the previous plumbing company didn’t install it properly and when he made a couple adjustments to water poured in to the sub pump. Excellent job in pinpointing where are the problem was and getting it fixed immediately.

It went very well. They were fast, knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. I actually had a repeat issue a few days later and they came back out and cleared my main sewer line again at no charge.

Luis was our tech, he was respectful of our property and friendly. After that it was all down hill, with ridiculous rates and con-man tactics. Stated he wasn't aware if we were "members" but gave us member prices even though we had there coupons and "members advantage" folder. Refused to allow us to use the coupons and stated the price was 480 (tech was there an 1 hour, 20 tops/flat rate billing). After he installed our new kitchen faucet without even attempting to repair or telling us the price, we got the bill for the faucet that came to 315.99 (149.99 everywhere else). Tech tried to sell that this faucet is the top of the line before I researched and said he said it would last twice as long than Home Depot models that are half the price (so same thing). Previously they worked on an emergency issue for us and fixed the main problem (non-stop running shower) but ended up creating leaking from our shower head and handles of replaced work they did. Kitchen faucet tech stated "it is what it is" with 3 handle tubes. They are great for responding when you need them and easy to set up appt but refuse to respond when you have an issue. Do yourself a favor, wait the extra day if you can and use someone else. They do try to get you to give them 5 stars with the hopes, you'll win the raffle and 100 dollars back from them.
