Horrible!! I entered into a signed contract on 6-3-08 with John Pasquini in Norristown, PA to perform interior and exterior work on my residence. It was to take 2-3 days, and 5 wks later on 7-22-09 (after I had made several phone calls which were unanswered) I was told via my answering machine that he was not coming back because he was upset that I made too many changes. Wrong!! I had made a change in the paint color after he had only done cut-outs on the wall. I realized it did not look good, so I paid for the new paint myself. He claims I made other changes - Wrong. The only other change was in the material which he was supposed to purchase - I made a change in the vanity but he had not bought it yet or he would have told me -so it makes no difference. He claims later he had to take it back. He said I could keep the $500 - big deal - that only pays for the material. The contract was for $1600 - I paid him $1100. He comes off so nice and then watch out! He took other jobs in between mine. I told him I would undersand if he had an emergency job because I knew he was a small independent contractor, but I figured, at most, it would take a week. I was so patient that he actually reduced my contract from $1600 to $1500 after 3 wks. I assume, now looking back, that he wanted an excuse to give him more time. During this time, I had to take a shower at my neighbor's house quite a few times. He had removed the shower rod for about 1-1/2 wks before he had actually gotten around to the painting. By the way, he had a helper named Josh do the painting. I waited 11 years to to have this work done, and I took the money out of my retirement. I am 65 years old working 2 jobs to survive. He had a case filed in Montgomery County Court - Case #2007-31688 on 12-20-07. This is public record on the internet. To this day, this person has yet to have her work finished and has not gotten anything from him. Two other people in my neighborhood were taken by him that I know of. I found this out after I had mentioned his name. I was recommended to him by someone who I have known for many years - a well-respected business owner in Norristown. He was shocked and said he would never recommend him again. We have to stop him in our neighborhood!! He told the person who had the aforementioned judgment, "You'll never get me." She put a lien against his business but, guess what, he purchases under a relative or friend I guess. Is there any justice in this world for us peons? I would appreciate it if anyone else in the area has had dealings with him. After a year, I am in the process of suing him and will eventually get estimates for the work that needs to be done. This time I will get them from Angie's List. This list is all new to me, but hopefully, it will be beneficial.
Description of Work: Removed wallpaper in bathroom size - 8' ceiling - 6-1/2' long x 5' w; partially painted off-white ceiling, but it was left with a pink edge all around; painted walls but needs another coat; removed a small light fixture globe but never replaced it - wires were left hanging; mortared a 2' x 2' area around back door to keep bugs out - it never worked; painted a 1-1/2" border around front door which had chipped - looks worse than before - never sanded - painted over bumps. Medicine cabinet was removed which was built in the wall, but was never replaced with new one. I am left with a hole in the wall 1-1/2' h x 2-1/4' w. Lastly, silver-coated small twin flat roof. I have no receipt or warranty for which I paid $300 included in the $1100. He also was to remove and hang a new storm door which was never done.

I hired him after he gave me an estimate. He wanted money for materials up front, which I thought was fair, and wanted to be paid as he completed each part of a job that involved several parts. Everything was fine until last week, when I paid him for everything he had done up to that point and gave him an additional $400 to buy materials to hard wire in smoke detectors, run two lines to the third floor for air conditioners and add several outlets. I have not seen him since, nor have I heard from him. He has not responded to numerous calls or messages. For several days, his voice mail box was full, but when I called today, I was invited to leave a message, which was not returned. So, he has obviously gotten my messages. At this point he has $400 of my money and I guess I am out of luck.
Description of Work: He replaced the main electrical box in my house, corrected some wiring which was faulty and added 5 outlets on the 1st floor. He had contracted to do additional work, which is detailed below. Other than one time, when he didn't show up on the day he said he would, everything was fine. He seemed knowledgeable, and to do good work, he was polite and respectful and seemed concerned that I was satisfied with the service he provided. He was quick and he explained clearly what he was proposing to do and why.
