Had a great team move us (Brandon, Johuan, Charles, Alex, and Carlos). They were right on time with two trucks, we had quite a lot since it was a 4 bedroom 3 bath house. The team was efficient and quick but most importantly they moved everything with care to ensure that nothing was broken and no walls/floors we dented or scratched in either house. And they were done by 5pm. Overall a great experience and great team to work with!

Garvin, Carlos, and Pedro did an excellent job moving our home. They were punctual, professional, friendly, efficient, and thorough. No marks, scratches, and no broken items. They were highly professional and very careful with our belongings, and were careful not to damage anything in either of the residences. They made the moving process as easy for us as possible. My experience was very disappointing. The Service Providers gave a time of arrival and then called to say he was going to be late. After several hours it was clear the he was a "no-show". My son stayed at my home to meet the him and ultimately wasted a whole day and was very frustrated.
Description of Work: Service Provider was booked to move furniture. They did not show up although their policy has a three hour window. A 10% discount was offered after report was made; I was uninterested out of shock that someone could be so unprofessional.

We attempted to confirm for 2 days and received no call. We do not dispatch a team if there is no confirmation for moves. You did call us at 3pm on your selected move date. We explained our reasons and even tried to accommodate your moving needs along with a discount. You declined. Truly we are sorry we didn't work together, we are not in the business of refusing work.

Justin, Alex, and another gentleman whose name is escaping me were AWESOME! They were on time, professional, and friendly. They moved us on May 14. We weren't supposed to move everything into their truck, but the POD we were supposed to have delivered by a different company the day before fell through. The movers mentioned above were very flexible with this change of plans and didn't skip a beat. We plan to use this company (and hopefully the same exact employees) when we move into our new home in late July.

Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the way the move went! They called when they were on their way and arrived ahead of schedule. When they arrived, the crew introduced themselves and were polite and courteous. They started by wrapping up my furniture and carefully placing it in the truck. I also had a clothes washer and dryer that needed to be moved down a flight of steps and up another into my new place, they took great care with it (especially navigating a tight turn at the top of the steps). When we arrived at my new house, I just pointed to where I wanted things to go and that's where they put it. While they took their time and were careful, they were also efficient and came in head of schedule and a few dollars under the estimate. Additionally, I thought it was great to see that the crew had good chemistry working together, they were smiling and cracking lighthearted jokes amongst each other. For me, this also made what can typically be a stressful experience pleasant. I would definitely recommend them and hire them in the future! Thanks Adam's for making my move a smooth one!

The three young men arrived on time and were very courteous throughout the day. Even though there was some confusion about needing to pack some items, they were prepared with extra boxes and kindly helped finish up the packing. They used padded cushions on fragile items, and have a reverse-side process for taping around drawers that leaves no adhesive on the furniture!. We gladly paid for the rolls of tape used. The entire process was finished by early afternoon, and the final total was within $10 of the estimated total. I'm very happy to have used Adam's Moving and Hauling.

Adam's showed up on time and went right to work. I've used other moving companies in the past, and Adam's was much more efficient than any of the other ones. I particularly appreciate the fact that the foreman pointed out a concern he had regarding our TV stand (which had lost a leg at some point - don't think it was due to the move, but prior to it) being wobbly, because I have a small child at home and he did not want the TV to fall on my son. I would likely use them again.

Not a professional mover. First when the mover moved China the glass shelves were not wrapped. End result was broken China glass shelf which costed much more than what their insurance company could compensate. It's customized glass shelf not a plain glass shelf. Of course their company could only compensate for a plain glass. Their compensation is only fraction I will pay. Second, never set up book shelf, worst of it the mover brought the shelf supports with them to their home. I reminded the mover before they left and was told they would do it. It took me several e mails to get shelf support back and I needed to assemble it myself. Third, the top of small freezer was dented. I was told there was nothing on the top of freezer in the truck but top was dended Fourth, I saw the movers slides the furniture inside the truck without any protection. When they found out I was watching then they stopped. I am pretty sure the dent of freezer coming from their sliding inside the truck Fifth, the top piece of patio umbrella was dissembled and never put back. Now there is a hole when I open the umbrella. I cannot believe I fall into this kind of company. Not sure how they got their rating. Six. The release form for claim needed to be notarized signature. That means I need to pay someone to do it and take time off to do it. If you are smart and want to protect your furniture Donot use this company

Deeply sorry to hear that your move didn't go as planned. After reviewing your claim and paperwork, we want to remind you- it is a process for reimbursement. Starting with your claim form, us submitting the paperwork and mailing of payment. Hence the long awaited check. You move came with liability coverage, which was explained and initial by yourself. We are truly sorry your liability coverage did not fully cover your glass and just a plain panel. With liability it covers bare minimum. Our company will make a note to not put items such as screws or inserts on crews body. Usually this is done to not misplace any small items for furniture. Thank you for the learning experience and rating. We hope to get the opportunity to change your view in the near future.

[IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPANY'S UPDATE: Adam's Moving's formal response to my insurance company as to the cause of the damage is that Adam's left our property exposed to rain.] DO NOT USE! Adam's Moving and Hauling caused $8,800 worth of water and mold damage after to our furniture and other property and offered only $690 to make up for that damage. The damage was caused after they picked up our property from out home in Philadelphia and then LEFT OUR PROPERTY OUT IN THE RAIN while servicing another move. They then put our wet items into storage for six weeks without drying them or even informing us of that they were wet. Only upon delivering our water-soaked and moldy boxes and furniture six weeks later to Rockville, MD did the movers tell us that our stuff was damaged. Despite Adam's Moving actually being the ones to point out the damage to us, after three months of asking to be made whole, they have consistently refused. We went back and forth with Adam's insurance company and with the company itself over the course of three months, but were shunted off to their insurance company for most of that time, and were ultimately only offered offensively low amounts to make up for the damage they caused. We were assured by the movers, led by Aaron, at the time they moved us in, that we would be made whole by Adam's Moving and Hauling. We were not. We only learned that the damage was caused by Adam's Moving leaving our property exposed to rain after OUR renter's insurance company performed their own investigation three months after our move.Over the three months we wrote and called Adam's Moving they NEVER once divulged how the water damage occurred. This company will take your money and destroy your property. A timeline and some photographs of the extensive mold and water damage follow. *July 31 - Adam's Moving picks up items to move out from Philly to be placed in storage. *September 21 (day) - Items delivered by Adam's Moving to Rockville, MD for move-in. Movers point out water and mold damage on several boxes, the items within, and a lot of the furniture. I call Adams Moving and Hauling with Aaron (the lead mover) to report damage and receive assurances that we will be made whole. I send most of the damaged property back with Adams Moving to avoid bringing mold into our home. *September 21 (evening) - I follow up with Adam's Moving by email with initial inventory of damaged property totaling $10,235. *September 25 - I haven't heard anything from Adam's Moving. I follow up by phone and am told they received my email and will be in touch. (I open up a claim with my own renter's insurance company and put it on hold pending the outcome of negotiations with Adam's Moving). *September 28 - I receive an email from Adam's Moving's insurance company asking us to file a claim form and provide an inventory. *October 6 - I send claim form and revised inventory showing claim for $8,651 of damage as we were able to salvage and sufficiently clean some of our belongings. *October 7 - I receive an email from Adam's Insurance Company that Adams Moving said there were no issues with the warehouse or the truck. Recall that the movers were the ones to point out the damage to us - in fact, Adam's Moving even repacked a box of our towels on their own prior to delivery because the box was so destroyed by water that it could not hold the wet towels. Regardless, this was a lie as evidenced on December 17 below. *October 7 - I respond to Adam's Insurance Company with photos and description of what we were told upon delivery by the movers. *October 11 - I update the claim with an additional $149 bed frame that we now discovered was covered in mold and breaking apart from water damage, bringing the total claim to $8,800 dollars. *October 13 - Adam's Insurance Company responds that the claim will be updated. *October 27 - I email Adam's Insurance Company asking about the status of our claim. Adam's Insurance Company responds that they will handle ASAP. *October 31 - I receive a letter from Adam's Moving's Insurance Company offering us $690 dollars to settle our $8,800 claim. *November 1 - I respond to Adam's Insurance Company CCing Adam's Moving that $690 is insufficient. I separately email Adam's Moving. *November 5 - I receive a response from Adam's Insurance Company with the same offer (to be adjusted slightly if their estimated weights of our items were incorrect). *November 9 - I email Adam's Moving asking when we can expect a response. *November 13 - For the FIRST TIME throughout this entire episode Adam's Moving responds. (Prior to this the last time we spoke was when I called to follow up on September 25). In his email Adam Edelman/Adam's Moving and Hauling writes that what we were offered is all the insurance company covers, that he doesn't know what his company assured us, and that we should let him know what reasonable amount above the insurance we want. *November 23 - I respond to Adam's Moving via email asking for $6,000 and a their counteroffer. I also include a draft of this review. ADAM'S MOVING NEVER RESPONDS. *December 8 - I receive a check for $690 from Adam's Moving. I call my renter's insurance company to activate my claim. *December 17 - I receive a letter from my renter's insurance company that my claim is being denied because my policy does not cover water damaged caused by property left outdoors and exposed to groundwater. According to the letter, Adam's Moving advised that our property was left exposed to the elements during another delivery and then stored wet for six weeks during which time mold developed.
Description of Work: Moved our entire home (personal property and furniture) from Philadelphia to Rockville, Maryland and moved additional furniture from New Jersey to Rockville, MD.

There were three movers, all very prompt and courteous. We were called 10 minutes ahead of arrival to prepare us. The men were very quick and efficient. The move was made in less than 3 hours. My only complaint is that the movers were not careful carrying a piece of furniture up the stairs and made two large gouges on the wall. Accidents do happen, but precautions should have been taken to cover the furniture with a barrier to prevent this.

The movers did exactly what they said they were going to do in the time they said they would do it. Everything went according to plan and according to cost. They were on time, efficient, and friendly. The movers worked hard and were careful with the furniture. This was the first time that a move went exactly as expected and I have moved quite a few times over the last 5 years.

Adam was very nice to deal with and even came by on packing day to see how things were going. Aaron and his crew arrived on time to pack and were very careful packing everything. Smooth sailing all the way. Easy booking on a tight time schedule. Over the phone estimate of time and charges. Confirmation call two days before. Courtesy call from driver re: time of arrival. Dar, Pedro and Alex were great: worked hard and steadily in a house with 4 floors, responded to requests, took good care with wrapping and taping. Very honest with hours and billing.

After suffering the incompetence of U-Haul a few too many times, I decided to go with a professional and I'm glad I did. It made a huge difference. Adam's Moving was easy to communicate with, responsive, up front about the costs. The movers arrived in the middle of the time range they gave me, and went right to work. They were fast, careful and professional. Easy to get along with, and patient when I changed my mind about furniture placement more than once. They came in under cost, under time, and the whole experience was significantly less stressful than U-Haul. I highly recommend.

It was horrible. They did not show up on the scheduled day, but decided to show up the next day. On the phone when scheduling, I told them I did not want somebody that would come and not speak my language. They sent three men that didn’t speak English. Before we even left, all of my dishes were smashed. One of the men had to go find the other two workers, one of whom was asleep and the other was eating. They packed a total of 22 boxes. When it was all said and done they charged me an additional $133 and that it had to be cash because they would charge me more if I paid with a credit card. I recorded the entirety of every conversation I had with this company. I ended up having to hire another company. I tried to call them to discuss the matter and they were very argumentative.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for a "3-Person Moving Crew for 4 Hours, Including a 26-foot Truck."

We here at Adam’s Moving would like to elaborate on your move. First of all, thank you for purchasing your coupon deal on Angie’s list and we are surprised to hear your move was unsatisfactory! We would like to point out a couple of things regarding your comments; You were initial booked for Sept 22nd and during our routine confirmation call, you were unable to move on that date thus you rescheduled to our next available date (Thursday 24th.) We pride ourselves on our work ethic and customer service, we would never not show up to a booked move. In regards to you requesting a person speaking your origin language, our crews all speak English and may possibly speak additional languages which should have no effect on your move. You stated, dishes were broken prior to leaving your pickup location. You hired us to actually pack your belongings and you hired an additional company to move them. So in defense to that statement there is no possible way we broke your goods. Next, you stated our crew members were sleeping and eating on the job. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any call from you in regards to broken items or unprofessional movers or standards. In the event of any doing mentioned above the office would have been notified and we would have taken action. Now in response to your additional costs (which was the packing supplies/materials used) they were explained during the sale of the moving service, the morning of the move from the office and during the walk-through with the foreman & crew. For the reasoning of the cash for payment, was to exclude the 3% processing fee for the use of credit card use. During the transaction we attempted to charge 3 different cards waiting for 45 minutes on our time (not charge to you) and once we did get payment we did not charge our normal 3% processing fee. Lastly, we have not received any calls regarding this matter and the office would have been more than eager to explain and hear a client’s concerns and help solving them.

I contacted Adam's Moving on Oct. 7th and rescheduled to make an appt for an estimate on Nov. 9th. I spoke with Melissa and we made the appt for Friday, Nov. 7th between 10:30 and 11:30am. She called back on Thursday and said that one of their guys called out for Friday so the estimator needs to be on a truck on Friday. She told me that Eddie, the estimator, would call me directly to schedule a time on Monday, Oct. 12th. I never heard back from anyone after that. I have booked another mover for my move.
Description of Work: I contacted the provider to schedule an estimate for an upcoming move.
