We are very pleased with the work Chris has done for us. The remodeled porch has far exceeded our expectations. In addition to being an excellent craftsman, he is enjoyable to work with. Chris is easy to communicate with. He heard our concerns and ideas, and responded with helpful, creative thoughts and solutions. We'll definitely employ him again.

This was to have been a small job, slotted in between bigger jobs. Tonelli committed to the job in late April 2021, but then never found a day or two to do the work. He was ill with Covid, supply chain issues prevented him from getting the two boards he needed. I was patient and called every so often to check in. He would wait days or weeks to return my calls or just didn't. When winter came he told me to call him again in the spring. I did, he promised to do the work, and then in April of 2022 he didn't return my call and after a year of being jerked around I got someone else to do the job.

Chris was very professional in providing both a competitive estimate and realistic timeline for starting and completing the work. He is a very skilled craftsmen/carpenter and takes extreme pride in his work. He is highly in demand and therefore patience is required to accommodate schedule lead-times. Well worth the wait since the composite deck/railing replacement is of very high quality and we are very pleased with the end result.

I am very happy with the completed porch. Tonelli Builders built a raised screen porch. Chris Tonelli does quality work and is very easy to work with. I was always kept well informed. He had an eye for design features that worked very well. I would definitely use Tonelli Builders again.

They worked in freezing (literally) cold weather. Chris worked with me on the price and was low pressure on receiving payment. Stress-free and fast. The deck turned out beautifully. Chris gave us an estimate with the option of him or us purchasing the major replacements. We chose to do our own shopping so the.price I quoted was for labor only. We had some ideas and Chris was very open to anything we wanted to do. He also had some great ideas of his own. We knew he was a meticulous worker because he constructed a gorgeous 30 foot multilayer deck at my sons house. When he finished without bathroom it look larger and so beautiful it could have made the cover of a home magazine. He was a pleasure to work with. If something came up he adapted very easily. I heartily recommend Chris for your next project.

Great experience! We met with Chris who was very competitive in his pricing. The quality of the deck he built was amazing and the experience overall was extremely positive with no cons whatsoever. It's a small team so the length of time to complete the project was longer than other larger company's had quoted us but we preferred to work with someone who was willing to take the time to make sure the job was completed properly than rushed in order to move onto the next job. We would definitely recommend this company to others!

Chris's attention to detail is unparalleled, from the design phase through the build. Chris stayed within budget and our timeline. Chris respected our ideas and offered his professional opinion and suggestions throughout the project. We chose Chris after interviewing numerous other contractors, he books up far in advance but it's worth the wait; he doesn't sub-contract his work and is onsite everyday. We'll definitely use Chris in the future and have already recommended him to others.

Chris was one of three contractors I met with. He listened to my concerns and ideas of what I wanted. He provided several ideas on the design, lighting fixtures, and materials. He later provided a drawing that was easy to understand and envision. His pricing was very competitive and his contract was easy to understand. Chris and his crew were friendly and efficient in the destruction of the old deck and the preparation of the site for the new one. As the project proceeded, it became clear that the new deck would be very well constructed with an attention to fit and craftsmanship. Many friends who saw the progress remarked on how well built and sturdy the supporting structure was. Once completed, the deck looked just as Chris had explained it and I had come to imagine it. Everything was done exactly as he explained it from the electrical work, plumbing, lighting, and the overall look. I have received many compliments from friends and neighbors that usually start out as "this is great" or "VERY nice" or simply "WOW". Chris and his team were great to work with through the entire process. It is clear that Chris understands the meaning of "build it to be proud of". I would highly recommend Chris Tonelli for his work ethic, the craftsmanship of his product, and his focus on customer satisfaction.

It went really well! We were initially hesitant contacting Tonelli Builders for this repair job - specifically because all of their prior "porch category" reviews on Angie's list specified projects of larger scale. After having difficult time finding a reliable independent carpenter, we've finally called Tonelli - and were so happy that we did! Scheduling an estimate was so easy -- the owner, Chris, was fast to return our phone calls, and his follow-up was very timely. At our first meeting he gave us several ideas and options for the fix to work with our budget, and came off very confident, trustworthy and professional. During our estimate appointment he also identified a separate issue and fixed a door that was detached from a hinge, and was not even a part of the intended job! We've had a target date of completion for this project, and Chris was able to finish it right on schedule. Our newly renovated porch looks beautiful, Chris was very easy to work with, and we would absolutely use Tonelli Builders for future projects!

Chris did an excellent job throughout all the stages of project from planning, design and installation. He provided chooses and worked within our budget for project. The stairs were rebuilt timely, he even manage to work around an unscheduled delay on our part. The final product ended up looking great and eliminating a major safety issue.

Went very well-paint color and panels looked just like the originals(originally fabricated in 1973:-)))

Went well-Bedroom, bathroom and kitchen areas look like new. Wood and Azek & fireplace repairs solved the problem and look good(&,much better than other alternative->complete replacements:-)

This is the second time we have worked with Chris. We previously had done a smaller interior job with him years ago, and remembered his work so we went back to him for this bigger exterior job. Chris was great to work with. He is very experienced, and definitely knows what he is doing (unlike some of the options we interviewed). He consults with you to provide you with options, such ad the decision to go with the KDAT wood, which was more expensive than regular pressure treated wood, but cheaper than the composites. Chris explains to you the pluses and minuses of different options including the materials and the design. He is responsible: takes care of all permits, inspections, cleans up, communicates with you and answers questions without an attitude. And he has good attention to smaller details that you might not even be aware of or anticipate, such as how he cut and fit the blocks around the window well, or the fit of the wood on the deck, or the types of screws used on the deck. I'm very happy with how both projects turned out and feel I got good quality for the money I spent.

Chris did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend. He was extremely professional and very responsive. He was always on time and kept me updated on his schedule, permits, etc. He went above and beyond in certain areas, and the new deck looks great. I look forward to utilizing Chris' services in the future.

Chris did an excellent job. He removed all decking, stairs and most of the frame. He rebuilt the frame, decking and stairs and scrapped, sanded and painted the columns, top beam, put on new fascia. In addition he installed a new side garage door, re-seated and leveled blue stone walk way, repaired a piece of siding and coordinated the install of low voltage lighting.

Construction went very well. Chris's attention to detail is what made us use him. He does a job right the first time. We liked his work so much we started a basement renovation with him.

An absolutely wonderful experience, which is not something you can usually say about any construction. From the initial meeting, through planning and design, to the actual construction, it was entirely painless. Chris clearly has extensive experience, an artist's vision and a craftsman's eye for detail. In the design phase, he patiently helped us adjust our design on the larger elements, and suggested detail changes. The end result was spectacular. Always on time, easily reachable, always pleasant and professional. He went above and beyond to provide truly outstanding service. During the construction, we changed a few small things in the design, including some of the larger lights. No problem at all. Changes were made without any difficulty. The work was done meticulously, and the area was left completely clean. During construction, Chris noticed a few areas on the house near the deck that needed minor repairs. What a nice surprise to come home from work and find that Chris had fixed that so it wouldn't be an eyesore when the deck was complete! It's the small things like that that made this an exceptional experience. Not the least expensive estimate that we received, but we feel the price was well worth the service received. The quality of the result exceeded expectations.
