My house didn't turn out to be a good bet for solar panels. The cost would have been prohibitive. But the person who came, a co-owner of the company, was very knowledgeable, nice and professional, and suggested an alternative -- buying into essentially a solar "trade" program -- and immediately sent me information about it.

On time, professional ! Reacted to our needs. He was the only contracted that we have ever used that was praised by all the inspectors who checked the work. I would use again and highly recommend. They know solar !

Exact Solar run by Mark and Dara Bortman have been a pleasure to work with. Mark and his crew came when scheduled, installed the panels without problems even though there was a downpour at times, and left with everything working and clean. Since installation they have continue to be helpful, scheduling PECO to install new meters, helping us find a company to purchase our production, and helping me try to understand the PECO billing system and how our energy usage works. They even were willing to help me to put to rest my worries (incorrect worries) that somehow PECO had us using more energy than we possibly could. I cannot say enough good things about their work and their business model. Excellent service all the way.

Service was prompt and no leaks were noted after the repair was completed. The automatic solar activation system is great too. It is much better than having to manually monitor and turn the system off and on. It knows when the water temp in the pool is below the set temperature and it will automatically activate. It automatically shuts off too which is great for overcast days or when the pool temp has reached our desired level.

Provider was professional, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. Created a great proposal. Ultimately we decided not to go solar. My only question (to myself) is why I elected to use an Angie's List "Big Deal" and pay for an estimate when I'm pretty sure most providers (including this one) do it for nothing.

Exact Solar is unique in many ways. 1) They were much more responsive than my original company that did the install 2) They are family owned and operated 3) They care about their reputation in the Solar industry 4) They were correct in their diagnosis of the problem 5) They fixed the problem within a few days (exactly as they had predicted) 6) Having dealt with several other Solar companies, I only wish I had discovered Exact Solar first 7) Very few other Solar companies offer service to systems that other installed 8) Exact Solar will be my solar company for as long as they will have me 9) I will recommend them to anyone that asks or is willing to listen!

All went well. Very responsive to questions. Explained and ushered along rebate and federal tax credit. Completely satisfied!

The process went very well. Mark and Dara were very patient over several months with our questions and made us very comfortable taking on such a large project for something we had little experience with. The actual installation was done in only a few days with little to no inconvenience on our family. We are very happy with the end product and highly recommend this company to others considering solar power.

He fixed the meter and now it is working again. He did this on the same day he came and checked it. he came out within a few days of calling him - which was very nice as I think he was busy at the time. I am not sure of the date without going back and finding the receipt buried in last year's papers! I am still waiting on the estimate for the monitoring system - which I suspect he forgot and I will need to call and remind him! But it is not a hurry, as the system is working. I found him through Angie's List after reviewing many other local solar system companies. I was happy with his service and the price was reasonable.

Mark returned my first call very promptly and discussed our concerns. He seemed very well informed on the systems and suggested that the first step would be to review the on line records of past/current production. I supplied information on the account and he reviewed it. After review, he offered to come and inspect the system and see if he could identify any issues that would be preventing full production. We talked about his labor rates, and agreed that he would come to inspect at some point when other jobs were in my area (quite a distance from his home base.) Mark and his assistant inspected the roof panels and exterior wiring and tested the connections in the garage at the inverter when they came on January 19, 2015. After about 45 minutes, he let me know that they could find no reason that production was reduced by 50% and suggested that I watch future production carefully and call them back if it didn't pick up as we emerge from the winter season. As they prepared to leave, I asked for a bill, and was told they would mail it. I have yet to receive a bill, as of March 31, 2015. I will call Exact Solar if I need any professional advice or repair to my solar system whether or not I ever receive a bill for their inspection visit. I was very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism.

My previous hot water system used a pumping system that wasn't reliable. Exact solar responded quickly to my call and replaced it with a drain back system at an affordable price. It has worked for 9 months without any problems and it produces more hot water than the previous system!

Very well, overall. My only complaint is that it took a while to get the system actually installed (and they had a backlog, and delays), but they kept me in the loop, did stuff by the book (with permits and what-not, and my township is a pain to deal with). I got the Enphase microconverters, and they even set it up so I can look at my generation through a website. They filled out all the paperwork too.

they were punctual and professional. they explained all of the tax breaks and benefits of having a soar system in my home. I did not move forward because I did not have the budget to cover the system installation.

After hurricane Sandy we looked at a whole house generator. For just the rare use it seemed to be a bit expensive. The plan we came up with was to install solar with backup for our critical circuits. We do not need it .for heating - as we have a non powered backup for heating ( the reaction to an ice storm some years ago ). We contacted other solar companies who simply looked at Google Earth and told us it would not work for us, even after I told them the Google pictures were out of date. After we contacted Mark he came out and actually looked at the job - what a concept! He came up with a plan and it was installed and has been working well since then. The job I am reviewing is the 2nd phase that we undertook when we wanted increase our capacity. We were just breaking even with PECO with the original installation which is what a traditional installation is supposed to do, but wanted more capacity to offset the future purchase of an electric vehicle and electric space heating to offset natural gas heating. Again so far we are very happy with the results.

The installation was done in a very professional manner. Eight solar panels were installed with associated piping and automatic control with temperature sensors. The system works very well. We highly recommend Exact Solar.

I had researched a number of local and national solar installers (including the ones that everyone has heard about) and Exact Solar's price point was ultra-competitive (incredibly some of the firms were quoting more than DOUBLE the cost). If you are lucky enough to live in their catchment area, I cannot recommend Exact Solar highly enough for any of your residential solar needs. They may not be the biggest solar installers in the country, but they are by far the best!

I have a "complex" roof (ie multiple surface areas) and stone-coated steel rather than asphalt shingles. Most solar contractors would not even consider installing panels on my roof. Exact Solar was willing to work with me. They contacted the manufacturer of my shingles to make sure that the installation of solar panels did not void my 50-year warranty. They installed panels on 6 different roof areas. The work was done on schedule and after almost one year, the estimate of yearly power production is very close to what we are actually generating. Exact Solar explained how the panels work, set up online tracking, and arranged for periodic selling of SRECs. I highly recommend Exact Solar for anyone considering solar panels.

Excellent. Install was very professionally done. Timing was as proposed. Product is surpassing expectations. Mark was very responsive to requests to manage wiring to be non-obtrusive. All aspects of PV install were managed. Mark is very professional and nice to work with. He is very responsive to post-install questions and support. I would highly recommend Mark and his product choices for a Solar PV system.

Mark and Dara are great. They were very professional and compassionate. The process went smooth. In Nov. 2013 my family was left without hot water and heat when the boiler for our oil busted. We were in the process of getting solar water anyhow but it would not be ready for installation for a few more weeks. As soon as Mark and Dara found out they immediately ordered the hot water tank and installed it right away so that I would have electric hot water until the full solar installation. I'm very grateful for this. They are very accommodating and they work with you. I'm also very impressed with how organized they are. I received an owner's manual in a binded folder and an explanation of how the system works. I will definitely do business with them in the future. They are a exemplary company of how a business should care for their customers.

I have been thinking about solar for a long time and have talked to many installers about my project. I came across Exact Solar's website and decided one more estimate would not hurt. I am glad that I did! I think that Mark and Dara were great! I probably emailed them at least a couple of hundred times going over all the questions that came up as I started to really look at getting this done. They were very patient and very responsive in giving me accurate information to help me make an informed decision. In the end I had narrowed it down to 2 installers that I felt comfortable were good honest people and would do a good job. At that point I ended up with Exact because his price point was really unbeatable for what you are getting. He had given me a few different options and will design a system anyway you would like; however, Mark will not sell you something that he thinks is not going to work for your situation. I ended up going with a roof mounted array using SMA inverters and Axitec panels. Although the installation phase is complete we are still dealing with getting paperwork in so that we can complete the interconnection process. Hope this happens sooner than later. So far everything seems to be working well, considering all the snow and bad weather we have had in January. No roof leaks, thank god! I think that if you are considering going solar you should really talk to Mark and Dara; they are very honest people and will give you a very fair assessment of your situation as well as answer any questions you may have. I have to say that solar installers are offering many different programs, buyer be ware here; some sound great but do your home work. I think that some are very bad deals that installers are selling out there!! It is really hard to compare apples to apples because of all the variables and choices you have available to you. It is in this regard that I really liked using Exact Solar, their honesty and commitment to solar and renewable energy makes a big difference. At the end of the day dealing with an honest installer is priceless and the fact that they are very competitive price wise is just icing on the cake! Give them a call you will not be disappointed.
