+ -1 moreBob designed the beds and worked with us to select trees and shrubs. He knows where to buy the items and has the contacts to get the best of everything. Everything was installed perfectly and we had no loss among the ~20 trees and shrubs. The underground tanks were more expesive than digging dry wells, but Bob advised us of the significant advantages and he was absolutely correct. He is truly the best!
Description of Work: Design and plant beds with shrubs and small trees. Install underground holding tank for overflow from sump pumps.

+ 0 moreRobert Kleinberg responded in a couple of days to a request to review my drainage issues and propose a solution. He had an openning in his schedule and was able to complete this drainage work as well as do considerable work on the next phase. He accurately assessed the problems and came up with a good solution. He was responsive to a suggestion I made and was able to implement it on the fly. He made several contributions to the design of the final work and handled a couple of unforeseen issues with underground bricks and wires with directness and efficiency. But more importantly he clearly thought through how to approach each area and planned to complete each job both functionally and aesthetically. Mr. Kleinberg was on site for the job and he and his crew was able to perform more work than I had expected within the time frame he had projected for the immediate drainage work he estimated.
Description of Work: Two drainage areas, for a major downspout and a sump pump outlet, were repaired and improved.

+ -1 moreBy now he has done the front patio, put up some fence for us in the back yard, and did the paving and drainage project. Everything was done beautifully. I can't completely remember the details of the fence project, but he was adding a section of fence to match some fencing put in by the previous owners. The fence they used was no longer available, but he figured out some clever way of matching the fence anyway.
Description of Work: We had an ancient concrete walkway in our backyard and we asked Kleinberg (who had done excellent work for us in the past) to replace it with those E.P Henry pavers. Also, we have had a lot of problem with drainage in the backyard, so the yard is a swamp for many months. Bob came out to the house and spent an amazingly long time walking around the back yard and playing with his laser. When he was finished he came back with his proposal. He had figured out a way to take the dirt that he would have to dig up to install the pavers and use it to fill in some of the low spots in the back yard, and then angle the new walkway so that all of the water from the back would drain along the side of the walkway. The walkway looks beautiful, but we are even more pleased with the drainage. In other words, we asked him to replace the walkway and he did that in a way that also solved another problem. Later I said to him, "you are a genius" and he said, "well, actually it is just gravity."
