+ -1 moreMurtagh Bros told me that they needed a stucco inspection report before they could provide me a quote for the stucco remediation that I was requesting. I contacted a stucco inspector that they referred me to and paid 850$ for the inspection. After the inspection I sent them the inspection report and contacted them at least 6 times over the next month via email and by phone to get a quote for the stucco remediation. They did not answer my emails, or return the voicemail messages that I left. At the very least they could have told me that they decided not to take on the job. I would not contact them again or recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: Stucco remediation due to a leak.

Description of Work: They repaired a stucco defect on a chimney and did an excellent job. Scaffolding was put up and several days wee spent on the job. During the winter a small part of this came apart. When notified they returned - put scaffolding back up and spent 3 days repairing this small defect for, of course, no charge.

Description of Work: Stucco remediation, window/door replacements. Quality of work was very good but pricing was not up front. Given the nature of work there were unknowns but as the experts the contractor should have factored some of the unknowns into the original estimate instead of giving best case scenario. The pricing kept escalating as the work continued and was close to double the original estimate. The contractor was difficult to reason with and this caused work delays.

Description of Work: Having a hail storm destroy the stucco on the house was quite a surprise but having it replaced by a good team who are prompt, professional,and clean has made this experience not nearly has painful as anticipated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

+ 3 moreWe had three quotes and we chose this company to do the work. It took three or four weeks to complete the job. This was a very large job. They did a phenomenal job and they kept to their estimate. They did have to do a little extra and they let us know the extra charges before doing any further work. Eric was our project manager and he was just phenomenal and his communication was great as we were in New York. Eric and Paul Murtagh had great communication with us and they kept us posted very well throughout the job.
Description of Work: They did stucco work. They removed stucco from the back of our home and they put in three layers of weatherproofing. They redid the stucco in the entire back of our home. They had to reset windows, they propped up a porch, and they reset a patio door.

+ -1 moreThe overall experience was very positive. They provided a professional, reasonable estimate and promptly began the work after we came to an agreement. As they performed the work they took care to protect the areas that they were not working on. When we had questions they responded quickly. They came when they said they would and performed the work as promised. Overall we are very pleased with the work done by Paul Murtagh and his company.
Description of Work: Murtagh Brothers remediated a stucco issue at our house. They removed old stucco. Repaired damaged sheathing and structural damage. Then they replaced all damaged oriented strand board (OSB) sheathing with plywood. They removed and reinstalled 7 windows and 2 doors. The installed proper flashing and sill pans. They installed two continuous layers of water resistant barrier over existing substrate in the areas where stucco was removed. They then installed galvanized wire lath over vapor barriers and applied three coats of stucco. They installed kick-out flashing in 7 places. The installed casing/stop bead at all terminations of the stucco including around windows and at roof lines in areas where stucco was removed. The also installed a weep screed at the bottom of walls where stucco was removed. They also caulked where stucco meets dissimilar materials such as lighting fixtures, vent pipes, electrical outlets and electrical boxes.

+ -1 moreWe have a stucco house for which the windows were not installed properly by the builders. Since they installed the windows wrong, the plywood behind the stucco rotted out. So, Murtagh Brothers are fixing the windows, replacing the plywood, putting up new stucco and reinforcing the structure. They are doing a great job and are very professional. They are very talented in what they do. Something that is really cool about them is that, they gather information and send it back to the office, so that they have documentation. If we were in a situation where we could contact the builder, then they certainly have all the support to show as to what was going on behind the scenes. They can also show their potential clients what kind of damage might be there. They have done a really good job in terms of information. Their price was good compared to the other price that we received. I will use them again in the future.
