 + -1 moreThey get a high rating from me. It went fine. I have had them working for me before. They are just very good at what they do which is landscaping, landscape redesign and maintenance.
Description of Work: JHL Lawn and Landscape just did some yard work for me. They did mulch, trimming, pruning and over seeding. I use them quite a lot. Several years ago they redid my entire backyard.

 + -1 moreSince the work was done, I still have a lot of bare spots on my lawn and their treatment did not take effect. I paid half of the amount upfront ($132.50) and have yet to pay the remainder due to the fact that the treatment did not work. I have called the company three times since the work was done to have them rectify the issue and was actually hung up on the third and final time. This is definitely a company that I would not recommend to others.
Description of Work: I had them out to perform some lawn service for me. They performed core aeration and over-seeding.

 + -1 moreWork was done very quickly and the front yard looks great. TJ does wonderful work. We had him do the landscaping on the front yard 3 ywars ago.
Description of Work: Re-define / re-edge tree wells planting beds and apply application of pre-emergent weed control to all mulched areas. Install hardwood mulch in front yard.

 + 2 moreOverall, they were great. Their price was fair. Their quality was excellent. They were late in coming by several weeks, but it turned out for the best because that's when all the leaves were falling. When they finally decided to come they were here when they said they would be here. Their professionalism was fine. I would use them again in the future. They are good.
Description of Work: I used the services of JHL Lawn and Landscape in the beginning of summer. They came in and cleaned the gutters, leaves and then blew all the leaves into my backyard. They put on some treatment for my grass as well on the 15th of December.

Description of Work: JHL did our lawn service for one season.....found ourselves calling constantly on billing issues...twice on lawn service being billed when they were not here .. said they would research the problem but.never gave us a reason for the overbilling......they admitted to double billing on labor on one issue that we caught and another billing was charged w/o 3/4's of the work not being completed...and JHL tried to negotiate a price that was totally unacceptable w'o coming out to the property to view the situation.... they started out great and went from a very high rating to a very low rating all because of in- house personnel problems and then lack of managerial problems on the jobs we were paying them to do ..... Too bad....nice guys ....but they need help in managing their business and trustworthy employees..... Our property is a full maintenance property year round and we could of kept them busy year round, but the trust was broken ....

 + 0 moreThey did exactly what they promised and did it in one day. At one point, the crew had accidentally started putting down the wrong colored mulch; they removed it and put the correct mulch down.
Description of Work: Our house had its original plantings put in in 1981; it was time to rip them out and start fresh. Another company (Rick's Tree Service) had removed the old plantings from the front of the house and referred us to JHL for replacing them. JHL recreated all the beds in front of the house, removed debris such as grinding and mulch, amended the existing soils, added topsoil, removed some other small plants we decided should also go, and planted a variety of new plants that we had chosen with recommendation from JHL.

 + 0 moreThe new owner is a young guy who runs a very good crew. He is an entrepreneur and does a good job. He is sharp and responsive, and a real go getter. He shows up with his crew. He has a cutting crew and another crew to do the other stuff, but his crew changes a lot. He was prompt and showed up for the appointment. The crew showed up on time. They did the work the way I wanted it done and they fixed what they broke without any arguments. They completed the weeding job in a week's time. The yard certainly looks better now.
Description of Work: The landscaping company did landscaping and mulching on our lawn. They mow our lawn every week. They also do weeding, gutter cleaning, fall clean-up, and winter work.
