I originally planned on renovating the master shower in my house myself, but after a few issues decided to just call in a pro. Derrick came out to look at the shower and give me an estimate, and it was clear that we were both on the same page in terms of what I wanted done and how it would look in the end. Even though I did the demo myself, built the shower bench framing, and provided 99% of the materials (because I had already purchased them), Derrick worked with me and finished the job at a very reasonable price. Derrick does mostly Kerdi showers now, which is exactly what I wanted done, and the results are spectacular. This shower has 6x12 faux carrara marble glazed porcelain tile in a subway tile pattern, a 1x3 glass tile accent strip, and a Schluter 12x12 niche that has the same glass tile in the back of it. Derrick also installed the custom granite pieces that I had cut for the threshold, niche shelf, and corner bench seat. All in all, the shower looks amazing. Derrick was a pleasure to work with, extremely accommodating and knowledgeable, and the end result was an extremely satisfied customer. I won't hesitate to call him again for other tile work in my house, and he'll be the only name I give to others in similar situations.

Derrick removed old shower, walls, and shower floor to studs and joists; removed ceiling tile and ceiling; removed old insulation; installed Moen 62320 Posi-Temp valve w. Moen T2152BN brushed nickel Brantford trim kit and new PVC trap to existing copper pipe; removed jambs in shower, making shower wider; removed false ceiling to make shower ceiling height; installed new insulation; installed cement board on walls and ceiling following manufacturer’s specs; installed new kerdi drain in shower compatible w. kerdi system, www.schluter.com ; installed custom mud bed on shower floor; installed Schluter kerdi on shower walls and floor; performed water test; installed crand egrave;me 4x4 tile on walls, using old tile in random pattern to blend new shower w. existing tile; install 2x2 porcelain tile on floor; installed (3) Durango corner shelves, two at 58” from floor, one at 14” from floor; install marble sill on top of curb; grouted all work and buffed clean. It's been more than a year now. The shower looks as it did the day Derrick completed his work.

He was neat and clean and ensured that he kept my home that way as well. He doubled checked each day beofre he left that everything was picked and spoless, He was alsways on time. If he had to run an errands before coming to the house he callled. He came to our ad when the head contract walked off the job, took our money, stole supplies and some of our tools. He didn't pay the plumber either. I am working with the Attorney Generals office to persue them. The BBB is a joke and the contractors Assoc. would't treturn my calls.

Dealing with Derrick from start to finish was an overall pleasure. He has a pleasant personality and only wants to achieve the best and wants his customers to be happy with the work he does for them. Each day he would come in and put drop cloths down first thing. He set up his tile saw outside and made sure that e kept that area as clean as he was in the home. He made sure that before he left for the day that everything was as clean as when he came in. He will give you his opinion for the design you chose and he will ask your opinion on the design he chooses. He works to make sure that your dreams are expressed in the design of your choosing and wants you to be happy. The joint lines are clean and perfect. He gave cleaning and care instructions that he uses in his own home. You can see that he likes his work and has great pride in what he does. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. He does not mind if you ask questions and is more then happy to explain what he is doing. I wish use him on every job that I have that applies to his talent. I have seen some of his other work and no matter what job you look at, it is all superb.
