Called on a Friday morning. Standing water in my basement. Horrible situation. Two-person team arrived by noon. Super nice guys, took them about 30 seconds to diagnose the issue. Snaked the sewer line, and 20 minutes later, the water was gone. Very easy and quick process. I wish cleaning up the mess went as easily, but they couldn't help with that part.

In early May of 2010, we contacted this company to do a diagnostic check up on our A/C. They charged $129 for the check up (diagnostics) and then told us we needed a chemical cleaning of the unit. They also said we had a leak in the Evap Coil and it would need to be replaced. They came back 3 days later to install the evap coil AND did the chemical cleaning. Not only did they OVERCHARGE us for the evap coil to the tune of $1,495.00, but they charged us an additional $129.00 for the cleaning. The reason I know that they overcharged is because I spoke with another company to do comparative pricing, and they said that we were grossly overcharged. (I didn't find this out until just recently) Jump ahead to early May of 2012. Air wasn't blowing cold yet again. We called this company to come out and do a diagnostic. The technician said we now had a freon leak in the pipe between the unit and the house. He repaired it (took about 1 hour or so); this time costing us $699.00!! I again had another AC company advise me that we were significantly overcharged!!! Less than 40 days later, the same thing started to happen..no cold air. Called this company again because I thought maybe it was leaking in the same place and the company warranty would cover it. The tech came out, checked it, and no leak...he tried a few different things to no avail, but said now that he would have to order a part from the manufacturer for a price of about $269.00. He said they would be in touch in the early morning to let me know the status. I didn't hear from anyone until I called them. They eventually told me that they couldn't get the part locally, and had to order it, but that I would have to GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT on the part they ordered!!! Remember...they didn't even know if that part would get the unit running. I refused to give them a deposit because I NEVER heard of this business practice before. I then called another company that I found through Angie's List which had an "A" rating. They came out, didn't charge for the diagnostics, determined that it was the compressor that was bad and gave me the choice of repair or a new unit. So, basically, in 2 years, we paid Westmoreland Affordable...etc. $2,452.00!! We got a completely NEW American Standard 2.5 unit for less than that amount. Lesson....do NOT hire this company. They are incompetent and are unfair in their practices and pricing.
